Windows 10 upgrade will delete all images and applications?

When I install the app and windows 10 PC images are delete or not.

No, they aren't, but the upgrade without a tested backup takes a lot of risks.

  • Satellite C50D-B-120: refresh your pc - it will delete all files

    Hello

I'm looking at a friends by Satellite C50D-B-120. It does not start. There OpenOffice files on it, but I don't know exactly where. If I try the "Refresh your PC" option troubleshooting it will delete all files?

    Thank you

    Matt

    Hi Matt

I found very interesting Toshiba technical support document in the Knowledge Base, and I think it might be useful to you.

    Windows Recovery 8 & repair
    APS2. Toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB2A03ES0000R01.htm

The 'Refresh' option is primarily a repair technique. It is a good method to return your PC to a known good state while preserving your files and a large part of your configuration. With the option "Refresh your PC", accounts of users, data files and some settings are retained on your PC without the need to create a backup or make choices about what to keep or delete.

This means that the data should not be affected by using the update your PC option.

  • Create a mapping of partition will delete all my data?

I have serious problems with a hard disk. I have vital data and do not lose them. After much research, I have concluded that the partition plan is down. My question is: create a map of partition will delete all my data? "I found this app ' iPartition" who is able to create an apple partition map but warns me that my data will be lost. I remember from my research that people were saying that the data will be fine. Could someone help me! I think I'm losing it: p

Creating a new partition map will not physically destroy the data on your HARD drive, but it will make it inaccessible. You need to start some recovery/restore software tools to recover your data. But the 100% success is not guaranteed. You are most probably going to lose some or all of your data in this process.

Before trying anything, get an another HARD drive of the same size as the original, and create a clone (e.g. using dd in the Terminal). It must be a clone like that would give you an exact copy of the original, including the partition table broke and all the data on all partitions.

When you have your clone store the original HARD disk in a safe place and carry out all repairs and attempts at recovery on the clone. In this way whatever you do degrades the original HDD already weakened.

An alternative to the above process would be to find a company that specializes in restoring the data. But who can become very, very, very expensive.

BTW, if you do not have a backup of your data, it cannot be so important. I suggest that start to implement a backup procedure now.

    Hello

Your Windows passes genuine validation? If your activation session has expired and that windows did not pass the validation, it will not show any visual effect such as background noise, themes etc. It will only show a black screen and at the bottom right of the screen you can see attention.

    Hi jodepepevalentin,

In the print menu, check "scale to fit media" under the Position and size of the device and then check out.

If you want the area selected for printing, check "Print selected area" under the Position and size and specify the size.

    Kind regards

  • Deleted many pictures and applications; photos - 0-available.  Impossible to read or send emails.

Deleted many pictures and applications; bought 50 GB iCloud storage; Still - 0 - storage on the iPad.  Impossible to read or send emails.  Help!

Additional storage iCloud purchase will give you more space for your backups, he won't give you more space on your iPad.

Since the removal of the pictures (you have also emptied the recently deleted album?) have you tried a soft-reset/reboot to see if that frees up space? Press and hold buttons sleep and home for 10-15 seconds (ignore the "slide to turn off"), then the Apple logo should appear and the iPad should restart

  • Windows 7 Pro 32 bit MS Windows 10 upgrade will offer only 32 bit or choice of 32-bit or 64-bit?

I have Windows 7 Pro 32-bit my PC is 64 bit, can I switch to 10 64-bit Windows?

You will need to do a clean install, there is no place on the way to upgrade Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit.

Using the disk of 64-bit Windows 7, install Windows 7 Windows Easy Transfer Utility from the DVD (to find it, simply navigate to x:\support\migwiz, "x:" is the name of your hard drive. (In this case, you will see a collection of files, the important"that you must search for and double-click is 'migsetup'.) run it and create a DAMP (Windows Easy Transfer file), if you have an external hard drive, you can access it later when you perform a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit disk so you can stored there.

Once you have done this, just do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit disc. In Windows 7 64 bit disk, start Windows Easy Transfer, follow the wizard screen, tap on which is stored the WET file (external hard drive) and it will restore your personal files and settings. Reinstall the applications needed.

    http://www.notebooks.com/2009/10/07/using-Windows-easy-transfer-in-Windows-7/

Boot from the DVD 64 bit Windows 7
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement

When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

  • Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor didn't finish and restore to Windows Vista

I try to install Windows 7 and started using Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to examine the State of Vista.

A number of questions appeared so I did the updates or of facilities such as specified. I then re-ran and it shows now no problems.

The only things without green ticks are the wireless printer which he cannot evaluate but does report does not as a problem.

The upgrade of Windows runs almost until the end and then fails and rolls back to Vista. When you are finished, he said to use Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor!

    Where should I go now?

    Notes:

    • Collect all the important application discs and discs of hardware driver, you might need to be reinstalled.
    • Consult the manufacturer and the site of developers of software for available updates and inquire about the status of compatibility with Windows 7. It is possible that if the software is compatible with Windows Vista it probably will work with Windows 7, because they share the same driver model.
    • If you use software like iTunes or Adobe programs, don't forget to remove and disable them before you run the installation program.

    Back up your data:

When important changes to your computer, for example an upgrade, it is always recommended that you back up your system before installing a new version of Windows. Windows Vista, depending on the edition you are running includes a form of backup. If you run editions such as Windows Vista Business, Enterprise or Ultimate Edition, you can use the built in backup of the computer of your Vista installation. This can be handy if your installation of Windows 7. For instructions on how to use the backup of the computer, see article following here. Of course, you'll need an external hard drive for this task.

If you are running editions such as Windows Vista Starter, Home Basic or Home Premium, the only option available to backup the standard backup and restore that archive the records of your account with some settings. If you need a similar to the complete PC backup option, you will need a third party too.

See the following article from Microsoft MVP JW Stuart on how to make a backup of a Windows here installation using Acronis True Image here

Alternatively, you can use for backup of Windows Vista is Easeus backup, JW Stuart also has an article about it here

Other steps that you can use to check your data is secure before the upgrade creates a backup of Windows Easy Transfer. Learn more here , this option is very limited and should be used only if do not plan to return to Windows Vista because the easy transfer of backups can be restored in Windows 7 or Windows 7.

What you can do before performing the upgrade?

You can perform certain tasks of pre-required to ensure a migration smoothly between Windows Vista and Windows 8. If you use a computer such as a Dell or HP brand name, go to the website of manufacturers for the model computer you are using and download the latest drivers available for this computer. Store them on a disk or a USB key. You should try to get important factors include network and video drivers. Its possible that they might have only Windows Vista, those that will work with Windows 7.

    Other things you can do:

    1. Uninstall all security software before attempting to upgrade.
    2. Disable any encryption software, that you may have installed such as file encryption, BitLocker Drive encryption.
    3. Disable/uninstall software utility to drive such as CD/DVD burning utility or third-party programs such as perfect disk defragment.
    4. Make sure your computer is updated (devices and applications).
    5. Disconnect external devices before installing.
    6. Check your hard drive for errors:
      -Click Start
      -Type: CMD
-Right click on CMD, and then click Run as administrator
At the command prompt, type: chkdsk /f /r
      Exit the command prompt.

When you restart your system, your computer will be scanned for errors and will try to correct them.
  • Another thing you can do is to disable startup items:
    • Click Start
    • Type: MSCONFIG.
    • Press enter on your keyboard
    • On the general tab, click Selective startup.
    • Under Selective startup, clear the check box load startup items.
    • Click the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable all.
    • Click OK.
    • When you are prompted, click on restart.
    • After the computer starts, check if the problem is resolved.

If you have compatible hardware and your computer still stops responding, disable any unnecessary material. Remove (USB) universal serial bus devices. Remove or disable network cards, sound cards and cards of the series; and then restart the installation.

  • Can I delete all partitions and leave only the BONES? What are the implications?

    Hi all!

I just bought a HP Pavilion desktop computer and I want to create a primary partition to install Linux and another to store my files, but I can have only 4 partitions on a drive, and the HP Pavilion comes with 3 partitions already.

So, I think that the only partition required for Windows 7 is the appointed a "BONE", right?

I imagine that if I delete the SYSTEM and HP_RECOVERY partitions? Windows will always start after I remove them?

(I'm more worried about this SYSTEM partition... What is it anyway?)

    Thank you!

OK, I was able to create 2 extended partitions and do what I wanted without having to remove anything... Thanks anyway!
