Hello.

I'm testing the VMware View 4.0.1.

I want to deploy a model of many users windows 2003 r2. But only the Windows XP virtual machines running on my vCenter listed in the selection of Desktop Source. I can't choose any computer virtual running Windows 2003 R2.

Is - this Win2003R2 is taken in charge?

Thank you.

You can use Windows 2003 only if it is in Server mode terminal server.   You can see all the supported systems on Page 18 of the admin guide.

  • Extremely slow CHKDSK on external Drobo B1200i connected to a Windows 2003 Server)

(I have a Drobo B1200i related to an unresolved external server) windows 2003 Server), with 9 x 4, double redundancy to discs. The scoreboard shows that all drives are healthy. The player has 2 LUNs. One of the units is 16TO and used to store data, some are small files and some are large files. We found errors when you try to save this logical unit, which prompted running chkdsk. Run us CHKDSK G:/x/f/r it was launched on 22 may at 18:00. He ran steps 1-3 to 25 may, making hundreds of repairs (deleting entry index... recovery of file... orphans replacing non-security IDS valid... Insert the attribute data to place...)

He has been blocked since May 25 (for 3.5 days) 60% of the step 4 of 5, moving very slowly. Currently, it reads "(14191283 of 20660608 processed files) all 60 percent" the number of processed files remains to be the same number of hours and moves upward then 5000 files and then a few hours left in the same issue for others... At this rate, it may take 3-4 months at the end!

    My questions are the following:

1 - is it normal to take this amount of time with the large disk like mine (16 TB)?

    2. is there a risk of data loss if I stop it now?

    3. is there a chance that what has already been solved during the early stages is all that was needed, and that interrupts it the process now will be harmless?

    4. If I stop the process now and errors persist, and I decide to run CHKDSK again, it run faster for the early stages and get to the current point faster than the 6 days it has taken to get this far? or it will take another 6 days to join the current point?

  • The task request becomes Error 403 - Windows 2003 CF9

My test server is Windows 2003 and IIS 6, CF9.0.2 with SQL Server 2008.

About 3 months ago, I received a few a slowdown of security on the property of the directory I had installed CF on.  So I had to change the owner of the car.  Not a big deal.

About 4 weeks ago, I started to receive an "error during the execution of task 403 Forbidden" in the file scheduler.log every time I ran a job through the Scheduler.  So, I thought it had something to do with my recent change of ownership.  I uninstalled and reinstalled CF9.  Still getting the same problem.  Not a big deal I think just a test server and I have a deadline to upgrade in March, production is under Windows 2008, go to 2012 Windows, CF11, etc...

Come today and I have a production problem, and I need to run a test through Scheduler file.  I forgot that the Scheduler is to launch 'Error while executing tasks 403 Forbidden' during the execution of any job.  I go out to search the logs of Windows, and low and behold, security had expired the IUSER_machinename and IWAM_machinename accounts passwords!  So, I went ahead and changed the passwords on these accounts, but still am receiving the "error during execution of task 403 Forbidden" error.  Any suggestions?  Permissions had not changed after I re-installed CF.

    Thank you.

After having read a couple of your answers, I went back to look at my IIS configuration with my way for the scheduled task.

Yes, I got the IIS Web site a separate just for scheduled tasks - and I returned to the new password for the IUSR_computername account.  I looked then the SSL certificate (Edit under secure communications) and it must have reset the checkbox on the 'request a channel secured (SSL).  Unchecked the box, applied and tested.  Work proceeded to the success.

Thank you both, Carl and Alexandre helps you.

  • vSphere 6 and Windows 2003

I think that Windows 2003 guests are not supported under ESXi 6. Has anyone tried their execution? Do any of you run Windows 2003 in 6? I hope that (although not taken in charge) it's more a case that VMware just could not be bothered to validate/test but it works perfectly fine. Grateful for any input.

    Thank you

Yes. ESXi 6.0 supports windows server 2003. According to the compatibility guide results are lower. VMware compatibility guide: search guest conductor /

  • Newly converted Virtual Machine Windows 2003 contains no hard drive

I'm looking on the advice of this problem.

I used vConverter 4.0 to transform the four physical servers to virtual machines.  Two of my attempts ended in failure.  One was a standard Server Windows 2000 running as a web server. He just cut to 3% or 4%. Let this old trash server at the moment.

The second is a Windows 2003 Web Edition Server.  The P2V process actually all the way!   But I can't start. I discovered that the physical server C drive was not there?  When you change the properties I see only one hard drive (it would have taken to 10 GB and 20 GB) it seemed to me that if the configuration in the setup of P2V has been misinterpreted?...

Initially, I made it clear that the 51 GB drive C and 74 GB - D drive should become a 10 (only use 4.8) and a 20 GB (only 11.5 GB used).  Instead, I found myself with a huge 72GO disk in the virtual machine

In this fourth attempt, trying now not to tamper with disk sizes and rely solely on provisioning.  And there is room for the 51 + 74 GB of disks on the ESXi host expected they exploit the full potential.

But it really intrigues me I get a different result that I opted for in the configuration of the P2V.

    No explanation?

The server in question is from the disks IDE and a legacy mainboard with an old Pentium 4 processor - not really a server.  On the other hand I have converted two physical successfully servers, just until I came across this problem. It was 12 to 14 years old Compaq DL380 G1 servers with SCSI disks.

I think part of the problem is that you cannot change the type of IDE SCSI controller (it's in step 3). You can try the following steps, but if it was me I would just start the conversion, resizing disks you want and ensure are using a SCSI controller

  • VMware Converter error - error Windows 2003 Sp2 to 95%

I am new to the world of the virtual machine and converted several machines without problem, but I have this error Windows 2003 Sp2 and it is very furstrating.  I use VMware vCenter Converter Standalone 4.0.1 on the computer itself on a local drive and from another machine on a network share.  Looking through the log, I found the following: "taskSpec, task taken 357 an exception in the meantime on the agent task ends." Collecting newspapers to the officer before reproducing the exception more. "Exception message: converter.agent.internal.fault.PlatformError ', but don't see anything else of interest.  I could really use some help with this one.

Then, I would try with Converter 3.0.3

can you put the source machine boot.ini file?

    Hello

I m wondering that you want to install Windows server on a laptop...

In any case, it is a known problem and also happens on XP and Vista. To fix this you need to use the laptop SATA driver or you change the SATA mode in the BIOS by AHCI compatible, then you don't need a driver.

Here are some instructions that might be useful for you:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD9401AN0000R01.htm

I do not know if you will get a driver for Server 2003 but you can try the XP driver and in the worst cases, it must use compatible mode m.

Let me give you a little advice: If you have other questions, use the forum search. You can find hundreds of discussions about this.

    Hello

As mentioned above, you will not find the Toshiba drivers designed for Windows 2003 R2 server.
But don t worry, and don t give up.
Windows XP drivers must simply be compatible and you should be able to install the Xp drivers on the Win2003 Server operating system.

    Can someone help me please!

    Hello

You won't find these drivers anywhere
Win 2003 uses Win XP as the basis
This is why you must use the Win XP drivers!

Visit the European driver of Toshiba page and choose the satellite A100 PSAANE

Then, you will get all the drivers for Win XP
