Hyperion 11.1.3 sustained environment - Windows 2003 64-bit

We plan our Windows 2003 SP1 32 bit with Hyperion 9.3.1 migration to Windows 2003 64-bit (and whatever the SP is supported) with Hyperion 11.1.3

By examining the oracle support doc that I fell on the exceptions to the use of Windows 64 bit with 11

1. NOT taken in CHARGE FOR: Data Integration Management, reports Teradata Engine Production.
2 EXCEPTION: Relationship management and FDM data do not support Oracle Access Manager, Oracle Application Server Single Sign-On and Oracle Identity Manager.
3. 32-BIT BINARY ONLY FOR: data relationship management, EPM Workspace Services, FDM, Financial Reporting Services, Interactive Reporting Services, Shared Services (service native embedded OpenLDAP directory), smart lookup and Strategic Finance.
4 FDM and strategic Finance cannot be deployed on the same computer where the Performance Management architect (64-bit) and financial management (64 bit) are deployed.

I'm more concerned about #3. Does that mean that those services may not run on the 64-bit computer, OR they can run on 64-bit and 32-bit mode only

JTS

Hello

This means that they are only binary 32 bits, but they work in a 64-bit environment.

See you soon

  • Is - this Windows 2003 64-bit supports the USB WD My Passport HIS drive?

I bought a WD 2 TB my drive USB of HIS passport and tried to connect to a windows 2003 64-bit server, but the drive does not appear in the list of local drive. I checked in the computer management > Device Manager > ComputerName > discs and found that there is a driver for device usb WD My Passport 0748.

I conect the usb WD drive in my windows XP machine and copy the driver ITS \\Extras\WD device driver folder and transferred to local drive of the windows 2003 server and I tried to update the driver but the driver update failed and telling me that there are no compatible driver in the source folder.

Here are the contents of the folder:

    wdcsam - security catalog

    wdcsam - information for installation

    wdcsam - file system

    wdcsam64 - file system

I tried to search the site Web of WD for the compatible driver 64 bits, but, according to the Internet, the USB doesn't have a driver for windows because its use of the microsoft driver. Below are the links related to the topic of Microsoft and WD which, in my case, does not contribute to the problem.

  • upgrade in place windows 2003 32-bit

    Hi all

I have a problem, make an upgrade on the spot of a machine virtual windows 2003 32-bit to 32-bit Windows 2008. I need for it that the applications running on the existing operating system is not compatible with 64 bit OS. All is well until the last step "Completing upgrade" up to 52% then start restart and just never came up. If I'm going to "Safe Mode", it stops on Windows\system32\drivers\CRCDISK. SYS when trying to load the drivers. I tried loads of options none of them worked. I'd appreciate any help.

    Hello

The controller is parallel LSI. I managed to solve the problem with a little to manipulate the operating system. I had to make some registry changes (system32\config\...) and reboot several times, that upgraded with little success. Then I had to upgrade a Windows 2008 to windows 2008! Yet one more time to work things out. I know it sounded strange. At the moment he works and as I mentioned the current controller is parallel LSI. Thanks for your reply.

  • Looking for Patchsets for Oracle 11.2 g for Windows 2003 64-bit

    Hello

I guess I should not be on Oracle Windows :) I heard that more than once.

I am browsing My Oracle Support (support.oracle.com) looking for the good patchsets for Oracle 11.2 g company on Windows Server 2003 64-bit database.

    All what I can't find is 11.1

I am browsing "Patches and updates" tab in My Oracle Support. Can someone tell me the downloads for Windows 64-bit and 11.2 Please?

    Thank you.

    John

Did you by chance average the 11.2.0.1 release? I don't think that any patchsets for 11.2 has been released?

  • Oracle process has many flaws of page on windows 2003 64-bit with 16 GB of RAM

    Hello

We have recently installed a new Oracle RAC database on a customer site:

    2 - nodes x SP2 of Windows 2003 R2 Standard x 64
    Oracle 10.2.0.6.0 64-bit
Each node has 16 GB of RAM
    SGA_TARGET = 1536M
    PGA_AGGREGATE_TARGET = 1628M

Navigation via Enterprise Manager, there was a warning on "virtual memory an Excessive paging. So I opened the the Task Manager Windows on one of the nodes, and Yes, I see a considerable number of 'page fault' for the oracle.exe process. To give a slightly better idea, some relevant columns for this process I write values:
Proc Name     Memory Use      Max Mem Use         Virtual Mem Size       Page Faults
    oracle.exe    2.690.692KB     2.959.324KB         3.053.889KB            2.914.171.009
And this value for 'page fault' increases 1000-2000 about a second.

There are several other processes running on the server, nothing appears out of the ordinary for me (for example the process of Enterprise Manager, AntiVirus, winlogon.exe). The sum of the memory of these processes are using / used is about 1 GB.

Looking at the "performance" tab in the Task Manager, I see that:
    Total Physical Memory = 16Gb
    Available = 12Gb
All of this makes sense to me:
    16Gb RAM
4Gb used by all processes on the server
    12Gb available
So why do we not see paging for oracle.exe? I guess I'm missing something on what exactly the column 'page errors' told me. Can someone explain what is happening?

    Kind regards
    ADOS

Of http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc961101.aspx (monitoring and Tuning your server):
"If a process request a page in memory and the system cannot find the requested location, this is a page fault. (If the page is elsewhere in memory fault is called a soft page fault.) If the page must be retrieved from disk, the fault is called a page fault.) The system also has a page on a file access error if the requested page is not found in the file system Cache and must be retrieved from storage. Counters page fault does not distinguish between hard and soft faults, so you must combine meter information to deduce the number of hard faults.
To follow the pagination, log the following counters: memoire\ of Page/s, memoire\/s Cache faults defects and memoire\ reading of pages/sec. The first two of them follow the working sets and the file system Cache. Contributes to the counter of page reads you following hard page faults: a high rate of page faults associated with a high rate of page reads (as highlighted in the disk counters) indicates a high rate of hard faults. In short, a fair session connect or disconnect from the instance of database will increase the number of page faults (soft).

  • Cluster of P2V existing Windows 2003 two nodes exchange 2007

    Hello

I want to know how I can create a cluster of the P2v of my production windows node cluster on a host two unique esx4i. It is only for purposes of laboratory and test. The reason why I've done a P2v is I want to imitate my production environment, and as production data.

I've done a p2v of my node Exchange 2007 cluster two production Windows 2003 64-bit.  How can I reconfigure disks (quorum, data) for the cluster?

I've seen a lot of e of documents telling me to remove the discs and re create, but I want to keep the data.

I would like to know if someone has done with success the P2v cluster.

    Please notify.

I understand you want to keep the data - this guide will give you necessary for nodes in vm configurations and storage relavent - if you want to keep the two nodes in the cluster on separate from ESX boxes, then you will need to maintain a quorum and the shared data on the physical SAN LUNS and allows to connect to storage RDM - if they all exist on the same ESX Server I shute evrything down - P@V primary node with the disk data and shared quorum, then P2V system disk of secondary nodes - in both cases follow the configurations described in the guides and you should be good to go-
