Windows 7 64-bit hangs once a day without leaving a trace

Windows 7 64 bit freezes once a day without leaving a trace. I use Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on a SONY Vaio Z1 with 8Gbyte of RAM and an Intel Quad Core. It's driving me crazy. I get nothing relevant observer of events before the crash, nothing after the crash, except the question if I want to restart in Mode without failure. No blue screen. Just a clean restart from scratch.

I got IE9 beta 64 bit and Silverlight. The accidents began to occure after installing IE9. But quite often, IE9 is not yet running. Is there anything I can do to analyze the problem more deeply, for example to run a program in the background to check the system setting?

IE9 is a Beta and Beta means Bugs and bugs mean problems. So uninstall IE9.

  • Windows XP Professional hangs once a day

During the last three months of my computer, a PC of 16 months that are running Windows XP Professional, has been freezing about once a day. The only error message that appears on the event log is a system error, Print source, event 23. The Description is "printer hp LaserJet 1000 initialization failed because an appropriate hp LaserJet 1000 driver could not be found." I had uninstalled my LJ 1000 about 6 months ago. After that the accidents began, I upgraded my bios and ran CCleaner to clean the registry. However, I always get the same error message in the event viewer. How to remove completely any trace of the LJ 1000?

First of all, remove the printer in printers and Faxes applet.  To remove the drivers, while in printers and faxes, click the file menu and then click on "Server Properties" and then click the drivers tab and remove LJ1000 drivers, restart the computer to apply the changes.  I am not convinced that this event 23 is the source of your plant, but remove the drivers and see if things improve.

  • Black Windows 7 64 bit computer after 30 days screen activated

    Original title:

    I expect Windows to work

I installed Windows 7 64 bit on a computer that has installed several times before. After 30 days of apx screen turned black. In past you have made a phone call and that's all. What gives? I used WIN for years. I'm a pro but don't feel like...

    Bob

Maybe you have reinstalled Windows 7 too many times. You should try phone activation even once. I hope you can get it reactivated:

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    (2) press the ENTER"" key.

    (3) select your "country" in the list.

    (4) choose the option "activate phone".

    (5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    (6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

In the future, first create an image of the freshly activated installation system. This will allow you to simply restore the image saved when you feel the need to have a new copy of Windows 7 is installed:

  • Windows 7 64 - bit hangs / freezes on file transfers

I have dealt with this subject for about a year now.  I searched the Internet and found dozens of forums where people have had the same problem, but nobody seems to know how to solve this problem, or is that the real cause.  I tried many solutions, I don't even remember all.  I'm doing a last resort in order to solve this problem before you begin to replace the equipment, what I don't want to do because I'm broke.
The problem is that Windows 7 64-bit will randomly hang or freeze during file transfers.  It can be something as simple as browsing the internet (files small cache), move files on the computer or download large files of several gigabytes.  The OS crashes, and programs will start to become unresponsive ("not responding").  If I open resource monitor, there are 100% activity times higher (blue line on the drives to transfer files), but virtually no real disk activity at all.  The light LED disk activity is 100%, but nothing happens.  In fact, the file transfer stops during this period.  The mouse is always sensitive, and some windows are still active, but start to go does not respond when you click on it.  After that from 1 to 3 minutes the computer will return to normal, the blue line in monitor resource falls back down, and file transfer activity resumed as if nothing had happened.  Sometimes this will cause the OS to freeze, and the only solution is to reboot.
That's the gist of it.  I tried all sorts of things to remedy this, but nothing seems to work.  Please let me know what you have to try, and I'll let you know if I did it, or give it a go.
Here are the specs of my machine:
    • Windows 7 64 - bit SP1 (clean install)
    • Card mother ASUS P6T (latest version of the BIOS 1408)
    • Intel Core i7 - 920 Bloomfield 2.66 GHz Quad - Core Processor
    • CORSAIR XMS3 6 GB (3 x 2 GB) 240 - Pin DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) TR3X6G1600C9 Triple Channel Kit
    • 512-P3-N954-TR of EVGA GeForce 9500 GT 512 MB PCI Express 2.0 x 16 video card (latest nVidia drivers)
    • Intel X 25 - M Mainstream SSDSA2M080G2XXX 80 GB 2.5 "SATA II MLC internal Solid State Drive (SSD) (latest firmware)
    • LG DVD SATA burner black model GH22NS50
Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Please, if you know what could be the problem here, let me know.  I think my next step if I don't think that one solution is to replace the motherboard (bad disk controllers?).

I just replaced my hard drive Intel SSD with a Seagate 1 TB HDD and I have not seen the problem since.  If the Intel SSD has been the cause of the problem?  Why we do this?

  • PSE5 organizing on Windows 7 64-bit hangs on a catalog

Well, I know using PSE5 under Win7 64-bit is not officially supported, but many people seem to have success.

I'm migrating from XP and saved my catalog of 17000 + photos.  When I installed PSE5 (5.0.2 and patch) on Vista 64 - bit, PSE restored my backup successfully, but when I hit 'okay', crashes just up to the "not responding" without showing images.  In the meantime my Win7 update happened, so I uninstalled PSE5 and installed Win7.

When I reinstalled PSE5 (5.0.2 and), now under Win7 64 bit, this same catalog worked!  My catalogue was now well after generating all the thumbnails, and I even moved all the photos to the help of the folder view.  I was very happy.  But the next morning, I was back to the hanging of catalog.  If I create a new catalog with a few photos, it works fine, but of course, I want my old catalog.  I tried to restart, reinstall, starting with a new catalogue and to restore the backup, recovery of the big catalog, removal of the thumbnail cache, delete the status.dat file, looking at the catalogue with MS Access and more, all several times.

Any ideas?  If she had not worked a night, and if it does not work on a new catalog, I just assumed that this was not possible.

    Thank you

  • Reinstall Visio after upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit

Hello everyone. I installed Windows 7-64 bit. My upgrade went without a hitch except to reinstall one of my Office programs. I am trying to reinstall Visio Professional 2003, however, my first legal installation disc is Visio 98. Windows 7-64 bit will not install this version, so I'm stuck without a track to upgrade in order to activate properly. How to work around this problem. I tried to join the team of Visio, but I see that they want to get my credit card on which I am not too happy to... Help... Please...

    Thank you.

E-mail address is removed from the privacy *.

I know it's late to this thread over 3 years, but I recently found this problem on the copy of my dad from win7 64.

With success, I was able to install 4.5 Visio standard, Visio 5.0 update and upgrade Visio 2002.  Everything worked successfully on win7, but the older versions had some quirks to fix in the installation process for 2002 to see them on the hard drive and to recognize as valid evolutionary products.

The main problem is that version visio 4.5 and 5.0 used an old 16-bit installshield Setup program.

The applications themselves are 32-bit and will be running in compat for windows NT 4.0 mode in win7 64-bit.

My solution was to get a program that will extract the old cab of installshield used on the cd files.

The file to extract cd is called 'data.z' and you must check out it in a good location on your hard drive.

I used the program Universal Extractor from the following site:

    http://legroom.NET/software/UniExtract

the extraction method used was i3comp.

Once the records from HD, I created a shortcut to the executable visio in the extracted folder, in the properties of the shortcut I went to the compatibility options and click on it to change the settings for all users.  Here, I did the program running under Windows NT 4.0 and run as administrator.

I then tested successfully the Visio 4.5 and 5.0 with this method to ensure that any registry or ini file stuff needed by the installer of 2002 would be easier.

After I checked they were running and working on win7 64, I put in the 2002 Update CD recently bought new by the amazon seller.

Setup has found the copy to hard disk, and I told it to install over Visio 5.0 on hard disk folder.

When I launched visio 2002, he asked to activate, I then just let my dad continue the activation process of Visio 2002 update because it was actually him who had bought and she belonged and was installed on his computer.

He had worked for a couple of hours and finally had put on his machine virtual windows xp win7, but wanted on his real win7 64 bit installation.

I had the chance to help her for about an hour, and it was enough time to understand the problem and get Visio 2002 working for him.

I note that there is a point in the installation process when upgrade version wants to find the old copy to upgrade, he will try to get the hard disk and you will almost seem to be frozen, but the style hourglass turns the pointer of the mouse circle will be always moving.  As long as you wait outside it will be eventually find the older version installed.

Finally, on my father's computer, there are more than 1 million files from different programs and documents to go, after about 5-6 minutes setup are the old copy and continued.

After it's done only internet activation is required.

    Hope this helps someone.

  • No wireless on Windows 7 64-bit

I have a ZONET ZEW 2500 P USB wireless adapter that I am using on my new Windows 7 64 bit desktop. I installed the latest drivers from the RaLink for this card website (this adapter uses the Ralink chipset).

So far, I got to a point where I can see my network wireless in the list of networks available with full bars but I can never connect to it. If I try to connect, windows remains unstable until I restart the machine.
In addition, the status of the USB adapter in the Device Manager is "the device is functioning properly.

    I tried:
    1. connection via non-secure but with no difference.
    2. update the firmware on my router for later.
    3. using the same adapter on my 2 other laptops (vista and xp); and they connect correctly.
    4. use of an adapter (linksys WUSB54GC) different usb with windows 7 64 bit computer. no difference again.
5 Chaning my settings wireless (SSID, channel, mode); no difference again.
6 reinstall windows 7 64-bit OS; Once again no change.
    7. installed windows 32-bit xp on the same machine and the same wireless adapter works fine.

I'm out of ideas. Anyone fixed related issues windows 7 64 bit wireless? Would like to know their corrections as well.

    Router: WRT54G v6
    USB adapter: Zonet ZEW 2500P
OS: Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium edition
    Processor: Intel Core i7 860
    Memory: 4 GB of RAM

I finally fixed this mystery of a problem.

After trying 3 different USB adapters (Linksys WUSB54GC v1 and v3, Zonet) and 2 (N Belkin, Linksys G) routers and 2 OS (XP, Vista), I fixed it with none of them being the issue.

The problem was my mobo. I have gigabyte P55M-UD2. Gigabyte had released a new BIOS in Nov 09. My BIOS is P55M-UD2. F3 and I hit F5. And now 2500P ZEW zonet worked instantly with my old router linksys WRT54G on windows 7 64 bit.

BIOS update is somewhat risky, so be sure that your new downloaded BIOS matches your mobo.

  • Simulator does not close in Windows 7 64 bit

    Hello

When I run a simulator in Windows 7 64 bit I can't close without go into the Task Manager and kill the process. When I close the Simulator with the X key, just of freezes and does not respond. I tried the instructions on these forums for setting up the eclipse of Java plug-in on Windows 7 64 bit, but it did not remedy the problem.

My solution is now a batch file to kill the process with a single click.

    Taskkill /f /im "fledge.exe."

I put it in the quick launch that I had to do some fiddling to get back in Windows 7. Here are some instructions to find the QuickLaunch: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/888-quick-launch-enable-disable.html?ltr=Q.

Is there a way to fix this Simulator without killing the process?

It is a known issue and the only other way is to press 'Disconnect' in the Debug perspective, but actually, he did the same thing as closing the process (it could be a bit more secure, not sure).

Restart the problem have disc windows do not know how to make a boot fix

    Hi John McAvoy,.

    (1) since when are you facing this problem?

    (2) you get an error message?

I want to clarify if this happens when you start Windows after logging in or before opening a session on windows.

Method 1: Disconnect all external devices (printers, scanner, USB (universal serial bus) readers, etc...) Except the mouse and keyboard > restart the computer and check

If this solves the problem, then add back devices at a time until you discover the piece of hardware causing the issue.  Then get any drivers\software update for the device.

    Thanks and greetings

  • Windows 7 Professional loses the default printer at least once per day

Since I use Windows 7, I have to go into the control panel and set the default printer, at least once a day.  The next time I need to print something, none of the printers are set by default.  All printers are visible in the control panel that none of them are by default. Note: The same thing happens on several computers running Windows 7.

I did not assume that Remote Desktop is involved in your configuration, because it resembles an old question of Terminal Server services. Alan Morris Windows printing team seek here Microsoft Knowledge Base: http://support.microsoft.com/search/Default.aspx?adv=1

  • Keep being told you need to install Adobe Flash Player, by Facebook, install every day, I am running Windows 7, 64-bit, how can I avoid this?

Running Windows 7, 64-bit, using IE 9, Facebook games keep telling me every morning I do it to install Adobe Flash Player, and all goes well, that day, then the next day, get the same message, is there a permanent fix for this somewhere?

It could be related to ActiveX filtering, too. Adobe Flash seems to work on IE only with ActiveX filtering disabled (I also have these messages, they never appear on Chrome or other browsers who do not share this security feature).

  • RESOLVED: External Volume RAID 5 TPG "split into two" once connected to the new Windows 7 64 bit install

I have an AMS Venus T5J external drive enclosure (DS-2350J); It is filled with disks Western Digital 1 terabyte Caviar Green 5, model WD10EADS.  The device of Venus using a control panel with a JMicron JMB393 chipset, which is able to create RAID volumes to a connected host system transparently.  I used it to create a volume of 4 terabyte RAID 5 covering all five disks.  I've been accessing using a laptop Toshiba P105-S9337 with a card PCMCIA Vantec eSATA interface, which worked, but was not very effective.  Of course, it was necessary to structure the volume as TPG due to its size.  That has been a challenge.

My primary system was Windows XP 32-bit installed, which does not support GPT disks.  I experimented with Ubuntu and another distribution of Linux, which supports the GPT, but ran into problems to mount the RAID 5 volume transparently (it may have partially been my inexperience, but it * should * have been easier).

So I decided I have to install Windows 7 on this system, so that I could get access to this RAID her volume.  The system is based on an Asus M2N SLI Deluxe motherboard, which has an eSATA port integrated driven by a JMicron JMB363 chipset (NOT capable port multiplier).

Windows 7 installation, installation of the JMicron driver for the motherboard and log box RAID, Windows little wanted to assign the 'disc' a new disk ID in order to to use.  I met regularly this process in the past without problems, when the new disks are presented on a Windows system, so I thought that anything that allows him to do.  However, has as expected making accessible existing volume.  After investigation, I discovered that Disk Manager believes that there is a space UNALLOCATED 1.67 TB and nothing more!

At this point, I was naturally anxious, because I had data on the volume.  I checked the volume by connecting it to the laptop Windows 7 (32-bit) with whom he had previously worked and found a slightly different and more revealing image in disk management: there were TWO regions illustrated for the disk, an exactly 2 TB and the other TB to a 1.67, this last occupant clearly space greater than 2 TB.  These two regions, yet once, were listed as unallocated.  In both systems, Windows 7 was also clearly assumed the volume she TPMS, since the two I saw the option convert to GPT... which is already!

That's happened?  Simply allowing Windows write a disc ID to this volume somehow corrupt?  How can I recover the previous volume of 3.67 unique TB who was present?  Should I just order in disk management to convert it to a GPT disk?  Is a non-destructive operation?

I solved this problem with a perfect result...

In short, I could use TestDisk to recover completely with all data intact original partition table.  It took several tries, several hours waiting for the paint to peel (scanning) and finally a brief dialogue with the proponent (Christophe Grenier).
