Windows 7 - could not connect to the internet

Our Dell laptop has Windows 7 and since last night I am no longer able to connect to the internet.  I see that my router works (excellent strength) but I can't online.  When I called FIOS they said it was a problem with the Windows 7 update.  I was waiting with Microsoft for more than an hour last night and am listening to hold music again tonight.  Any help is appreciated!

You have McAfee? It was last updated at about the same time and it seems to be the cause of this problem.

See the communication from this "criticism" - McAfee

Some customers may experience a loss of network connectivity and/or errors in McAfee Security Center after a recent update

You should make the fix McAfee, if necessary.

I got McAfee, but the connection has started working again on its own so I thought I was clear of problems. However, when I checked it says he was doing routine checks the updates in vain when I told it to do a manually. So stick with McAfee you don't follow their procedure of fix would have upgraded my PC at risk by not updated and, as other listings of McAfee said since then, the application did not refer to his database of threats correctly. Actually, I removed and then installed Microsoft Security Essentials rather & my answer IE is faster I knew it [even though I had the Add-ons McAfee disabled for centuries].

I had to run the McAfee Development removal a few times before and it caused a problem with the license if the PC was not connected to the internet during the abduction. Due cat of McAfee support reset their files in order to allow the relocation-reactivation. Here is their link cat - McAfee - media contains the link to the cat

If you do not have McAfee then Windows update that kb2705219 can also be a cause like uninstall that seemed to solve the problem for some users. To uninstall an update - control panel, programs & features, [left side of the window] see installed updates. Wait until the system has finished the research for the list of updates. Select update required, then right click and Uninstall.

  • Homer in Windows Server does not connect to the internet.

I installed Windows Home Server on a self-built media server. Everything on the hardware is working properly. The server software is installed. The ethernet line is connected to my Linksys router. The power light is on decision-making on the case ethernet connection. The power led is on the router where the ethernet is connected. So, in my view, that the issue is not material.
    Problems:
    1. the server does not connect to the internet.
    2. my computer does not recognize the server when I install the Windows Home Server Connector software.
    3. the wizard of Linksys on my computer does not recognize the server as a "new device".

I feel like I'm missing a driver, maybe a driver of ethernet controller, but do not know how to diagnose the problem.  I downloaded the Windows tool that identified the problems I listed, but solutions are not feasible.

After the clean boot used to resolve the problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

    Hello

As a first step put the computer near the router and start with the security off the coast.
When it works, take it back to the final spot. If it stops then working, then you have a problem of distance.

  • WRT150N could not connect to the internet!

My uncle gave me a new internet router WRT150N. When installing, I get all the way to step 11, when I get a window that opens and tells me that my router cannot connect to my internet. He said to turn my modem on and apart and start over. First of all, my moden is not one we or off button, so I just unplugged and plugged again. Nothing happened. I called the number of Linksys, and the guy made me do all this just to tell me that I already knew information (that my IP address was on my computer and my modem IP address (or router, do not remember who he is) who is 192.168.1.101) on step 10, I entered the IP 192169.1.101 and it did not work. The man on the phone then told me how my warranty has expired and I have to pay 29.99 for him to set up on the phone. I said no, he said, then do it yourself and hung up. Very rude, me leaving with apsolutely no idea what to do or what the problem is. I tried almost everything. Resetting, turning on and out, enter my IP of the computer, nothing works! It will not always connect to the internet! And BTW, when on step 11, I get no internet (as if I try to open the Solution Explorer, the page is available).

Help, please! What should I do so that it can connect and work!

Connect the Modem to the router on the Internet Port and the computer to the router on Ethernet Port1... Open an Internet Explorer browser on your computer (desktop) wired page. In the address bar type 192.168.1.1 and press ENTER... Let the empty user name & password use admin lowercase...

On the Configuration tab, click the sub-tab ""clone MAC address ". Click Activate... Click Clone My PC MAC & click on save settings... try to go online. If it is not then power cycle the network and try again.

  • Windows 8 could not connect to the Bank or any metro application.

Updated to Windows 8 yesterday & connected to the app store and the weather for example. Today said no 'connected to the internet', but I am.

I hear that other users have problems similar to see IE proxy something?

Finally I solved the problem; at least for my case.  I was told that the cause of this problem is usually a conflict with some other virus scanners; in my case, McAfee.  I was in doubt since I had already turned off and that made no difference.  But I urged to uninstall completely.

First of all, my Dell laptop required a whole bunch of Windows 8 pilots.  I had not seen any reference to the need to seek these.  I had to go to the Dell site and specifically to say that I now have Windows 8 and then download the drivers.  It took forever.  I doubt that the problem of "access to the store" was driver related but I guess that the update was a good idea anyway.

Secondly, I uninstalled McAfee SecurityCenter.  In a first time which made no difference, which is similar to the experience I had when I had just turned off.  In other words, you can be deceived into thinking that the McAfee program is not the cause of the problem.  However, when I re-installed McAfee this process went through another uninstall of previous versions.  I'm sure that this is what makes the difference.

Well well, McAfee re-installed and works very well.  Best of all, I now have access to the store and all other connections online app.

  • Windows Vista update (August 2010) left my laptop could not connect to the Internet via my home wireless network

Yesterday, on August 13, I installed - as guest - a number of updates to Windows Vista on my laptop. It seems that most of them is security updates. There are 16 in total, of which 9 are titled "A security update for Windows Vista". (For reference, they include KB978886, KB982214 and KB2079403).

Since the completion of this facility, I can't access the Internet using this laptop. I have a wireless router that works very well. Our other two laptops families (using Windows 7 and other Windows XP uses) are the two beautiful connection today by using the wireless router, so I know that the rest of the installation is fine.

Immediately before installing updates, everything worked very well; Since then, the problem exists. I made no other changes of configuration, facilities or any measure that might have caused this.

Please tell us how I can remedy this problem. So far my best idea is to uninstall all updates. I really don't want to do it, because I guess they are important!

    Thank you!

[FYI - Norton Internet Security includes a third-party firewall (Norton Personal Firewall) as well as an anti-spyware component.]

  • Windows Vista does not connect to the internet.

Vista all tried to sign on the internet, but not

It's SP2.  I found another virus scanner and removed.  I loaded the good Explorer and copied in the folder and the Vista Service Pack II and it will still not on the internet.  Open the windows, and then closes (45 seconds).  I checked the ethernet driver (have high speed 10/100 NIC) he said it was very good.  I took it and when I started (after that I replaced the files in Explorer) I thought that it can load and discover the right path (both).  It loaded and loaded the ethernet, it says its ok ok but the icon on the destop says not found network connection.  Therefore, the Explorer and the link between the Explorer and the card ethernet, I guess.  Have been on the internet on the D drive on the same computer and it market.  It seems that he is a total windows problem.  I need the auditor system files, it's an activated installation of Vista SP2, so I should be able to do.  Could someone send it to me.  I think I did everything everyone tried to suggest to it solve this problem.  Oh, I forgot to mention I made a backup copy of a couple of years and it was made with the copy of Windows utility, then we might be able to use it to restore it.  It worth the try if you know how to load it.  guitarone
