• When Firefox opens a pop-up window with a Web site, it comes up blank - what to do?

It happened when I was on the site of Medicare, I think also when I tried to print an invoice in Amazon, and a Web site, I use all the time that I subscribe to-normally Firefox opens a new window with the information, but the window with the blue in the looking albums bar as I could get into a website to go , but it won't be the same white, let me do that - everything is non-functional. I tried enabling the pop-up windows, but that did not help. This has happened once before and I had to reset the whole thing, which has been a major concern. I really want to do so I hope someone can help!

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

• Do NOT click on the reset button on the start safe mode window or make changes.
• Small windows opened by Web sites went upstairs to the left at the bottom right on a pc

The small windows allowed that sometimes pop up when I click on a link in, say, a Web site of the Bank, always used to appear in the upper left corner of the screen. But since last month, or so they started appearing in lower-right instead. (I don't know whether or not it was parallel with the update of FF 3.6.15 to 3.6.16).

I can move a window individual back manually to the top left corner, but I want to repeat here opening by default, as they always correctly on my another FF 3.6.16 pc.

I tried all kinds of travel, window resizing, etc., but that has no effect on where they open next time. All click-product allowed small windows are always open at the bottom right at the place at the top left because they always used (and still do on my other FF 3.6.16 pc).

Hardware acceleration is also temporarily disabled - manual setting is Tools > Options > Advanced > general > use hardware acceleration when available. Options > Advanced. All these parameters/additional custom modules can also be individually or collectively disabled/enabled/changed to normal mode of Firefox to check if an extension, theme or hardware acceleration is causing issues.

• Disabling Javascript for individual Web sites

I've finally isolated the source of unblockable ads that appear on some Web sites, but not others. These ads come from different sources, but many of them are Chitka ads that block a portion of the screen and can not yet be clicked OFF. They block just constantly that you are trying to read or see.

When I disable Java on Firefox, fully - these ads disappear. Unfortunately, many other sites I visit use Java. So I was wondering, ' Why can't we control what websites display Java and those who do not - as well as the blocking of pop-up windows from certain Web sites and allowing them from others?

The only work around I have found, is to open TWO browsers: Firefox with Java disabled to view sites that have annoying ads and Internet Explorer with Java enabled to view sites that require Java and have no annoying popups.

Am I the only one having this problem?

The NoScript extension is great, but you must be committed to the principle of minimal script because sites increasingly expect access to several areas. In other words, you don't just approve facebook.com, but several other areas, including their areas of content distribution network. And there is no way for the extension to inform you in advance which ones is critical functions, those that are just ads, etc.. So you can end up reloading the page several times until you get exactly the way you like it. Of course, if it is a site on which you plan to spend a lot of time, it is worth. As I say to my colleagues, "what ads?

• After migrating to Windows 10, I need log in each Web site whenever I visit

Upgrading to Windows 7 a few days ago 10.

Now, I must connect to the Web sites whenever I visit while in the past I would be automatically connected with name of user and password stored. I checked the settings of cookies and other security settings and don't see what needs to be changed. Everything seems to be as it was before (from what I remember).

Would appreciate any help - it's probably something very simple, but I can't understand it.

Thank you.

Websites to remember you and automatically log you in are stored in a cookie.

• Create a cookie exception permit to keep such cookies, especially for sites Web secure and if the cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
• Tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: Exceptions

In case you use "clear history of Firefox closing:

• do not delete Cookies
• do not delete Site preferences

Note that compensation "Preferences of Site" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, windows pop up, installation of software and passwords.

Deletion of cookies will delete all specified (selected) cookies, including cookies with an exception to allow.

• EU binkiland malware removed, now on my Web site opens another window

New laptop with windows 8.1 when downloading one of the software programs I need, had a few malware. Binkiland was one of them, another I don't remember name of. Got the two removed after several hours. the binkiland went to the register, everywhere in my pc and in: config in firefox.

At random, it seems to happen that, while on a website, a window will open up with advertising stuff on it. I see it happen today to my own Web site, which has zero advertising on it. I pressed my links on this site and a tab open with advertising "Kelly Blue Book".

In general, I find that windows 8.1 seems not as robust for malware / attacks on windows 7. I can't believe how crap got installed on this new PC, which never happened in my 35 years of establishment of personal computers. Well, having needed to vent a bit, Google Chrome got also installed after the installation of FireFox, and for sure I look at these screens and set the options. I think that Avast is probably doing this, don't ever saw this option appear so I could uncheck it.

I looked for the addons of Firefox, the only thing it is Avast.

Appreciate your help.

Thank you
Betsy

You can start with some additional scanners, because everyone tends to find different things. Our technical support article lists the tools that other Firefox users have found useful: Troubleshooting Firefox problems caused by malware. These are free and take a long time to run. If they seem to end quickly, especially if they require the payment you can have a more serious infection. Specialized forums listed in the article would be the next stop in this case.

If the links are being diverted, an extension is the prime suspect. An extension with hiding capabilities, you can visit the Add-ons page once again mode without failure of Firefox. It is a standard diagnostic tool to disable some advanced features of Firefox and extensions. More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode.

You can restart Firefox in Mode safe mode using either:

• button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > restart with disabled modules
• Help menu > restart with disabled modules

Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still works

After stops in Firefox, a small dialog box should appear. Click on 'Start mode safe' (not reset).

All new extensions? Any change in behavior?

Links can also be hijacked by a proxy or if your DNS settings have been hacked. To check the settings of Firefox, you can use:

"3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > advanced > tab mini network > button "settings".

The default value of "Use system proxy settings" piggybacks on your LAN-Windows/IE setting, but you can also try 'no proxy '.

• Why can't access Web sites when I copy & paste or type the address in the address window - no answer - but I CAN visit Web sites non - Firefox only?

I can access websites through bookmarks, most visited, history or if I click on links in Google, etc. If I click on a link directly, it will open. If I copy & paste or type a link into the address window, click Enter or on the arrow "go to" in the address window - no response. I tried several Web sites. This seems to have happened since the 29th of Firefox upgrade. This only happens with Firefox.

You can try to start Firefox in Mode safe to see if Firefox works correctly without error? You can start Firefox in Mode safe below:

• Windows/Mac: choose Help > restart with disabled modules
• Linux: run firefox-safe-mode in the Terminal/Konsole

If Firefox opens fine with no problems, it is probably one of your extensions that is causing the problem. You can reactivate your modules one by one until you find the one that is causing the problem to be re-activated.

This might or might not be relevant to your question, but it seems that user.js is currently active in Firefox. The user.js file is present than if you or another software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be here.

You can delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-# .js files and rename (or delete) the file prefs.js to reset all the prefs by default, including the prefs set via user.js and pref which is no longer supported in the current version of Firefox. You can get the profile below:

• Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory > see folder

or

• Go to Subject: support , and then click view the folder next to the profile directory.
• Web site opens in a new window but has no scroll bar

Hello
I am a new user, so I'm not yet fully aware of the use of Firefox.

I use http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/ site several times a day. The site is in general more often perfectly OK, but one of the links I use all the time doesn't behave in a usable way. The link on the home page is:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business/market_data/ticker/markets/default.stm, which opens in a new window without scroll bars. Can I relative to the size of the window, but not enough to display the entire contents.

If I use the address of the link in a new tab, everything works fine and the scroll bars are present.

I'm migrating from the Opera browser and opera, when I use the embedded link, it opens a new window, but it has the current scroll bars.

Is this a Firefox problem, or maybe the site is at the origin of this problem - I could not guess who.

BTW, the website of the BBC is based, and for users not UK, it can be used completely different pages.

I looked through a bunch of FF options, but so far have not found anything that could be applied to the problem.

IMO, this website is too small size of popup windows setting, don't leave enough room for the content of the page when the viewer zoom in the page.

You can disable this feature this preference by typing about: config.

DOM.disable_window_move_resize

Double-click this preference to activate to true.

http://KB.mozillazine.org/about:config

Change dom.disable_window_open_feature.scrollbars true will replace Web site to hide scroll bars.
