Windows 7 Enterprise does not detect DVD

Hi, I recently installed a trial version of windows 7 Enterprise on my Macbook with the help of VMware Fusion. When I insert a DVD into my Macbook the DVD or its contents appears in Windows 7 'Computer' where the disks.  I had already installed Windows 8 using Parallels and I could see the DVD and its contents in 'computer '. The DVD and its contents appear also on the MAC desktop as usual. Please provide me the solution to this because I want to run a program that is not compatible with Windows 8.

Hello

The unit itself is detected? You see the drive letter?

Method 1:

If you do not see the drive letter, I suggest to open disk management, then make sure that you assign the drive letter for the drive.

I know that I can put the hard drive to boot first, but now I want to install windows 7 and it does not start.
I have already installed the latest version of the BIOS but does not solve everything.

    I wonder what's happening?

Thank for the help that you can give me.

I discovered why the player start out with reinstalling windows DVD.
According to the manual, so that the operating system Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 work, Secure Boot function must be activated. Similarly, restarting the OS Optimized Defaults menu must be activated and when this setting is changed, some BIOS settings are changed automatically including the UEFI / Legacy Boot happening to UEFI. We need to change the UEFI / Legacy Boot for both, only then can start the DVD from the drive.

  • My Windows Media Player does not detect a burner.

I recently downloaded Napster to download music and since I did, somehow now, windows media player is not allow me to burn the music I download on a CD, it says "connect a burner and restart player.» I can listen to music on the computer, but now it does not detect a burner. How to get windows to detect my burner?

    Hello mandyrose,

Have you tried to uninstall the dvd via the Device Manager drive then restart PC to let Windows reinstall? You can do it. If the problem is still there, can give a try? It is a quick easy fix from Microsoft, here is the link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060. You need to uninstall all third-party software (example: Roxio, Nero, or iTunes) from your computer before you make this correction. After you restart, you can reinstall your software and try again to see if that solves your problem. Otherwise, it could be a bad optical drive. Hope this helps you. Let us know anyway. Make it a great day!

  • Windows 7 Enterprise does not start successfully after re - install

I have just reinstalled Windows 7 Enterprise 32-bit with SP1 on my laptop HP 6715 b. (I use 32 bits for any software that I develop is always compatible 32-bit.)

After you have re-installed however, it does not start correctly. What came with windows announce "Starting Windows", but the following animation never - start the four lights that turn and turn into the "Flying Windows Icon.  It then crashes right there - do nothing, no matter how long wait.

If I can put the machine power off and re - start, we are at the "Windows Recovery screen" - because it has not started correctly the last time.  From there, I can choose to make a recovery and return to the last Point of good restoration, i.e. on a freshly installed system before the update of Windows, of course.

If I select "Start Windows normally", it starts however. But it is not 'Normal '. For example I can't finish my "Windows Easy Transfer".  It says that it cannot connect to my domain name - even if I am connected to my area and have been using it to install other software.

Or I can do a Windows Update "normally". The last time I tried, it is gone for hours without finding what be - so I left it overnight. In the morning he had apparently found nothing yet.  However when I turned off the machine and then turn it again - he told me there are 211 updates installed.  WHO has literally all day.

I'm not happy to come back to the last good Restore Point.  I did once.  He has NOT fixed the problem.

    I also tried:

    • Using MSCONFIG to disable all the startup and Services, apart from Microsoft and Kaspersky - no improvement.
    • Do a CHKDSK - revealed nothing.
    • Start in Safe Mode, did change his behavior.  This time I do not have the Herald "Starting Windows".  But turn the machine works again once, return me the 'Windows Recovery screen '.

Ideas anyone? I'm at my wits end.

It's OK guys.  I have it sussed.

He was objecting to the fact that I had my USB with my "Windows Easy Transfer" files on it, plugged during the initialization of the system.

Also, I was wrong in my thinking on how "Windows Error Recovery".  I assumed that he would do all that it checks before proposing to do a system restore.  It is not, it suggests a restore of the system first.  If you say NO to that, then he makes his audit.

What is finally here, is that I finally chose an option before he went into the system recovery.  Then, I waited until he was asked to do a system restore.  I said NO, so he went in it checks.  He went through his analysis and finally concluded it was some "system unspecified device" recently added.

Well I haven't nothing added to my machine for years.  So, I was puzzled.  Then I thought ' well, I don't normally have my key USB is plugged. "  I wonder... ».  I therefore disconnected the USB drive and rebooted the machine.  The rest they say is history.

Hope this sorry tale helps someone else.  It just cost me four days!

  • Satellite A300-1EI: Debian Linux does not detect DVD drive

    Hello guys,.

I am trying to install Debian debian-40r5, but the first issue I encountered is that the DVD is not detected correctly and the system setup program is not loaded.
    What happens is...

    1. start the program installation of Linux and its load.
    2. I am invited for selections of region/language/KB. Then when debian tries to detect the drives, the dvd is not detected, and I am asked to load the driver manually. I tried to load the drivers in the installer, but without success.

If anyone knows how to load the appropriate driver, please me advice.

    Thanks in advance,

  • DVD drive does not detect DVD satellite 1900-303

My CD-RW/DVD drive refuses to read DVDs, acting as if there is no disc in the drive, no matter what I try. I have not used the machine regularly in a while and just starting to discover this.

It also has a problem with burning discs, if it is of no interest. I bought a lens cleaner, but it won't work because the laptop still does not recognize the disc. Also, I've never fiddled with the control of the region and have already tried reinstalling the driver, but to no avail.

    It's a S1900-303, the number of model PS192E-00G1N-EN.
Any help that anyone can give is much appreciated, it's really annoying.

    Thank you very much.

    Hello guys

First of all if there are problems with burning CD or DVD, you will need to test different CD or DVD. Not all CD or DVD is compatible and can be used in the drive.
That's why check different CD/DVD from different manufacturers.

But if the drive is not able to burn or play a CD/DVD, so I assume that the reader has a malfunction and only the replacement of the device could help.

@Judith: unit you seems to be new and the guarantee must cover replacing the drive.
But before you contact the ASP in your country, check the different media.
In the user manual a list with compatible and tested the CD and the DVD.

    Hello

Windows media player cannot be used to sync the music to the IPod because it is not compatible.  ITunes is the program recommended for sync music to IPod. You can visit the manufacturer of device Web site to download ITunes.

Now when I try to start the laptop on the cd, I get as far the screen where I have to press on enter to install Windows XP pro on the system or press R to repair. The problem is that there is now no facilities to choose from in the box below and the system is not recognizing the hard drive. I can't even as much as the screen to format the drive. When I press ENTER to install windows xp, then I get a blue screen telling me that the system shuts down to protect my pc. Is anyone able to tell me what to do to solve this problem please. Thank you very much in advance for your help. Noel

original title: I did a stupid thing... Windows XP Pro

Sounds like a hard drive problem then. Your drive is maybe defective. First of all, you can use the partition of diagnostic Dell (F12) for its determination.

In case there is a SATA problem, press F2 to enter the BIOS and change the setting of hard disk SATA to legacy. (Might as well try this first.)

  • Windows Media Player does not detect files in the music folder

Original title: why Windows Media Player NOT showing my music?

So I recently got myself a new laptop, with Windows 7 Home Premium on it.

I copied my music to my desktop PC (also Windows 7) folder to the new laptop.

All the files are there in my user folder music, however, Windows Media Player absolutely refuse to recognize their existence and will NOT add them to your own library. If I navigate to the folder of the album, select a track or multiple tracks and use the context menu to perform them, which works without problem - WMP will play files.

I checked that the right folder belongs to the library.

The photos that I copied in the same way everywhere appear correctly in the 'Images' of WMP library.

After searching on the internet for answers, I came across three very common solutions either on their own or a combination of seems to work for most people:

    (1) removing all THE folders in the music library, then add the. This has no effect.

    (2) will "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Media Player" and delete the entire contents of this folder, or the folder itself. Note that if stop/start no matter which drive Windows Media services also had no effect.

    (3) using the command line tool "attrib" to remove the attribute 'system' of all the files in the folder music.

Anyone got any ideas that are NOT ALL OF THE above MENTIONED the ELEMENTS, which may be able to help here? Otherwise, I'll move to a slightly less fussy Media Player...

In fact, as a result, that gave me an idea.

    I went to:
    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Libraries

And delete the content of this (this will remove ALL your libraries!).

Then, I used the option "restore default settings", which correctly restored by 4 default libraries. I then recreated both more personalized, I would like to have it.

Having done this, WMP now seems add my music to his library as I type this...
