Cannot configure embedded card Gigabit Ethernet...

Hello

I am using Bootcamp 2.x with 10.6.x on a 2011 end pro macbook.

Is Windows XP SP3

I want (I need) using the integrated Ethernet Gigabit 10/100/1000 BASE-T, but cannot configure it!

My Broadcom 802.11n wireless card is in place and works fine

Documentation of the specifications Apple says:

  • Gigabit built-in 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet (RJ-45 connector)

When I ran PC-Wizard, he told me:

Network card: BCM57765 of Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet PCIe

If I go to computer management program and open the list of Device Manager

Card Ethernet is not visible in the list of network... and control has a ethernet cards? icon...

How to proceed with the installation?

Any advice?

Thanks in advance

    Please notify.

Depends on how many cards you have for your ESX host?  Assuming that you have built 2 in and 2 x Quad Port total = 10 cards.  You can use two network adapters for each port groups such as VMotion, DMZ, Production, management, backup etc. multiple NICs for the port group more.  You can use switches to vDistributed for all the virtual machines of Production and vSwitch Standard for management.  You can check the networking more Ken Cline http://kensvirtualreality.wordpress.com/2009/03/29/the-great-vswitch-debate-part-1/

  • Reference Dell 17R n7110 - No. Gigabit ethernet

I have a problem with is Gigabit ethernet on the model # listed in the title. First I have:

    -Check the cable

    -Check the router

    -Installed the latest drivers

-Restarted everything in all possible combinations

    -Tested components with another computer

The strange thing with drivers, is that, on the site, the driver is listed as Gigabit capable but when I install it it is listed in the device as "Realtek PCIe FE." Manager FE is Fast Ethernet, which is not Gigabit. Why Dell loses this laptop as it have Gigabit support when it is not? If so, how can I enable the Gigabit ethernet on it. I tried to force the Gigabit driver but it does not always give Gigabit speeds and force the Gigabit mode with this driver causes the connection turn it completely off.

    Hello

I see the system originally delivered with a Fast Ethernet NETWORK card, so you would not be able to force to manage the full gigabit speeds.

RTL8111E Fast Ethernet controller combines a 802.3az IEEE 10/100Base-T compatible MAC Media Access Controller (), PCI Express bus and embedded controller One Time Programmable (OTP) memory. With state-of-the-art DSP technology and mixed-mode signal technology, offer transmission RTL8111E broadband via a cable CAT 5 UTP or CAT 3 UTP (10 Mbps only) cable. Functions such as Crossover detection & Auto-Correction, polarity correction, Adaptive equalization, cross-talk cancellation, echo cancellation, timing recovery, and error correction are implemented to provide robust transmission and reception capability at high speed.

If you go off the coast of the structure of naming of the driver itself, which is probably a problem of brand from the manufacturer.   They probably thought it sounded better.

I hope that helps to explain why you can't reach gigabit speeds.  If you have any other questions please answer and let me know.

  • Gigabit Ethernet through AirPort Extreme

I just got a gigabit home connection. If I connect my iMac via ethernet to gigabit municipal internet provider modem, II can get about 800 Mbps download based on the file netspeed.com. Nice.

However, when I use my Airport Extreme as a router ethernet (put the extreme between the iMac and the modem) my speed drops to about 1/10 of that.

None of the devices that I currently own are capable of handling 802.11 ac, so I know I could not anywhere near gigabit wireless speeds. But it would be nice to have the fastest speeds on the one machine I intend to connect via ethernet, then connecy to the extreme wireless.

Airport Extreme really limit the ethernet so? Is there a setting I can adjust for more fast ethernet routing?

If the AirPort Extreme 802.11ac is configured as a DHCP and NAT router, then the WAN to LAN speed will be limited to about 300-400 Mbps.  Check the results here:

    http://www.SmallNetBuilder.com/tools/charts/router/view

If the AirPort Extreme is configured in Bridge Mode, then you would expect to see 600 - 700 MB/s speed this way.

    http://www.SmallNetBuilder.com/tools/charts/router/bar/75-LAN-to-Wan

If you don't see results, then the AirPort Extreme is not to negotiate properly with your modem speeds.  Unfortunately, Apple has removed all the settings to manually adjust WAN port on the AirPort Extreme 802.11ac speed, so there is not much you can do others try a few unusual things...

One of them would be to insert a Gigabit Ethernet switch between modem and AirPort Extreme to see if it will negotiate better speeds like that

Another would be to try an Ethernet cable between the modem and AirPort Extreme cross.

If none of these things help, then you should ask Apple to replace the AirPort Extreme to you and hope for more luck in the next test.

  • Airport Extreme Gigabit Ethernet and Jumbo frames

    Hi all.

Can anyone support me kindly about Gigabit Ethernet & Jumbo Frames with Airport Express?

I currently have and use a 5th generation Airport Express and you want to buy the QNAP TS - 453 Pro NAS. In any implementation of storage NAS, Gigabit Ethernet, the frames extended as matching Ethernet card well, are all very important to achieve broadband performance, so my questions are:

    5th generation Airport Express

    • Are the NETWORK Gigabit NIC Ethernet card?
    • It also works with extended frames (QNAP NAS supports 4074, 9000 and 7418 bytes for MTU)?
    • QNAP can trunk NIC (if more then one) with the following options:
      • IEEE 802.3ad (dynamic link aggregation)
      • Balance-tlb (Adaptive Transmit Load Balancing)
      • Balance-alb (Adaptive Load Balancing)
      • others (mainly for failover)

Is 5th generation Airport Express enough or should I think about moving to the 6th generation?

    Thank you.

You mix up the terminology... Express and Extreme are totally different.

The title is correct... Extreme... your question text replaces by Express... they are only 10/100... and gen only 2 of them.

    Any airport extreme Gen2 - Gen6

    Use the Gigabit ports.

    Do not support jumbo frames

    Do not support pairing.

  • AirPort Extreme, gigabit Ethernet switch and covering my house

I have an AirPort Extreme 802.11n to Time Capsule wireless router. I have an old House. It was built in 1852 and microwave ovens have a hard time penetrating through some walls.

Recently, I made some changes in the House and I wired things for Gigabit Ethernet. I have not yet bought a switch. We have a Mac Pro (cheese grater), a Mac Mini, three iPhones (only 6) and two iPads (one version 3 and the other, only the latter bought autumn, an iPad Air.)

First of all, since most of us are on 802.11 n, can I initially put in place a heterogeneous system with two routers wireless connected to themselves and to the Internet via a switch? Also, I need two switches; one for the internal LAN and the other for a connection to the Internet? I intend to buy the new ac 802.11 AirPort extreme for a facility in one of the rooms to better cover the rest of the House. I think that both devices will be able to take advantage of the signal of 5 GHz, initially, with another iPad and iPhone to come along the next year. I wouldn't or the other base station being "enslaved" to the other but, rather, connected to the wired network internal and devices just switch between them that move around the House.

Comments are welcome here. This can be a trip to a Genius Bar if I do not hear from final here.

can I initially put in place a heterogeneous system with two routers wireless connected to themselves and to the Internet via a switch?

Possibly, depending on the type of modem you have. See below info in this post.

Also, I need two switches; one for the internal LAN and the other for a connection to the Internet?

    NO.

I wouldn't or the other base station being "enslaved" to the other but, rather, connected to the wired network internal and devices just switch between them that move around the House.

Not sure what you mean here. The two extremes of the airport will be connected to the cable network, so they will be in communication with them at all times. If you want to peripheral switch between them that move around the House... then you will need what is called a "mobile network"... so the two airports will produce a wireless signal that uses the same wireless network name. Apple Setup Assistant will put things this way by default.

Depending on the type of "modem" you have, the network might look like this:

Internet > Modem > AirPort Extreme 802.11ac > Ethernet switch > AirPort Extreme

or, if your "modem" is really a modem/router, also known as, a walkway... then you have the ability to set things up like this:

Internet > Modem/Router > Switch > the two airports to connect to the Ethernet network

Looking for a Gigabit Ethernet switch to your network. Switches come in 5 ports, 16 channels, 8 ports, etc. versions.  It's always a good idea to buy an Ethernet switch over a few ports that you think that you may need right now... to allow for expansion.

The key here is that the type of modem you have will determine how to configure the network.  If you could provide the number of brand and model of your "modem", we can eliminate some of the assumptions to be used at this time.
