Windows 7 faded label

Hey guys,.

My windows 7 label on the back of my computer dell laptop is a little faded, as I can make out to 10 characters of the product key but the rest are difficult to distinguish.

My came from dell with windows 7 installed, so I don't have the disks, and it's a new hard drive that my last does not so I can't check the key this way or the other.

Any ideas?

Thanks a lot for letting us know this worked. The key is different but its meant to be.

A generic SLP key is used for the Dell Windows Vista/7 OEM SLP activation mechanism. For example each system unique to Dell factory settings or installed with the Dell Windows 7 Home Premium uses the same generic product key. It will be the same as those compiled here:

http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/10370-Windows-7-OEM-SLP-key-collection

http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/2581-Vista-OEM-SLP-keys

On the other hand, the key on your COA is unique and can be used in rare cases if theres an activation make a call to Microsoft. It is a secondary activation mechanism and is not important when the SLP activation mechanism is functioning correctly. Most of the customers never have to use it.

The key to COST in the past has been widely used in the past when install an OEM license with retail media, but the ABR program allows you to do a clean install with a .iso of the mechanism of activation of the Dell Factory Settings/reinstallation DVD retail and has also proved useful in rare cases where the reactivation is required.

In short, you have an installation of more or less identical to that of the Dell reinstallation DVD.

  • How can I get the product news/same key code to activate Windows Vista? Label on my computer is dispelled and Toshiba was no help.

Had the new hard drive installed on my computer, so now, two weeks later, the computer tells me that I need to activate Windows with the product key code.  The product key code label is too so I can't read the code.  I called Toshiba for a new or a replacement code, but they told me that I had to back up my hard drive and restore it to the factory settings.  I also tried to find the phone number of support following the instructions on the Microsoft Web site, but I don't get any options, that the instructions say I should.  My computer tells me too that my Windows is not genuine, and my screen and background images of screen saver does not work anymore.

Use a magnifying glass and a strong light and see if you can decipher the worn characters.  There is no trace of the key so if you do not you will need to follow the instructions of Toshiba for restoring your windows with the recovery disk.

  • WINDOWS 7 FADED KEY

I bought a computer dell laptop in 2011 and after 11 months, I HAD the hard drive replaced because he failed. Fortunately, it was still under warranty and installed windows on it without problem and used the key (it was always clear at the time), now a week ago, my laptop has become a bootloop and I reinstalled windows 7 using a USB but I coudnt read the key under the laptop and I don't have a CD when I bought it and you read above There is no recovery partition, but I still have the serial number do not know if it would help

For a system with a Dell OEM license key on the COA should not be used. Instead, the system locked preinstallation mechanism should be used which are applied to the parameters of plant or with a DVD of resettlement.

Follow the instructions in my download Windows 7 SP1 OEM and retail .iso that tells you in the application of the mechanism of Dell OEM SLP activation for a retail facility using the APR program and Dell cert files that I saved from the Dell Windows 7 reinstallation DVD.

Now is a good time to replace your hard drive with an SSD as a 256 GB crucial MX100 which will significantly increase the performance of your system.

My A Clean install of Windows 7 will take you through the complete installation, including data backup, well dry, Windows 7 download, Windows 7, Windows 7 Offline Update installation, install the drivers and installation of backup Dell and install recovery to make a new partition of the own plant.

  • NEW HARD DRIVE NOW WINDOWS ACTIVATION ERROR PLEASE HELP

I bought 2 Dell inspiron laptop computer n5040 in July 2010 for my son. In October, the hard drive failed completely on one and had to be replaced. I have re-installed all software using the disks of backup/recovery system, I created when we first arrived the laptops. Has been a lot of work, but then I got the Activate message windows however, the label key at the bottom of the laptop is so faded, I can do only 15 first numbers/letters. I've run magical jelly bean and typed in the key, it gave me. However, this proved be the key to the other laptop. Apparently, when I did the re - install the system disks copied this information too.

I contacted Dell to find the right key and they have been very useful and after many emails, checking the laptop / proof of purchase etc, they agreed to send me a re-installation disc that would solve the problem.

My 30 days are up, and I constantly get the non-genuine message. Disk hadn't come in December (be they sent to my old address even if I confirm my new address 3 times). Finally, have them yesterday but not lucky me they sent me a disc to install windows 8. I don't want windows 8, I want to stay under windows 7. It is now October and I'm really tired now. Is can someone please tell me how to find the original key for my laptop so I can reactivate windows.

    Thank you very much.

You're out of luck, because the media keys and recovery of COSTS directly from Dell would have been your best two options, the only other thing you can do if you really need Windows 7 is to buy a full version license:

Where can I still get Windows 7?

    Hello

Here is another solution, you can try to see if you can get Windows 7 to install correctly.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create an installation disk yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( this must be the version exact same origin supplied with your laptop ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

    Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

  • Satellite A110-231-CD/DVD drivers for Windows 7

    Hi all

I bought my laptop Toshiba Satellite A110-231 in Spain in January 2007. Provided with Windows XP, it has created a "Windows Vista ready" label. I installed Windows Vista and the components of the computer worked well. Now, I just installed Windows 7, but the CD/DVD drive (Pioneer K16A) not be recognized. Guess Windows Vista and Windows 7 have the same system requirements, so how can I I make my DVD player work on this OS?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

What do you mean by saying not recognized?
The CD/DVD drive is not visible in the Device Manager or what?

What the BIOS has said? The STRANGE is recognized in the BIOS?

Generally, the CD/DVD drive using the own Microsoft drivers and it should work with Win XP, Vista and Win 7.

My hard drive crashed, then I succeeded him and my recovery disks to bring my computer to original state. It does not start, so I think that windows vista is not on the recovery disks. How can I download windows, with my license on my computer?

    Hello

HP do not offer a download to do this service, however, there are two main options

    1. see if you can order a set of replacement recovery disks using the link below.

    Order HP recovery disks.

If you have a problem with this link, order them directly from HP.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

2 in the same way that it is possible to create a disc of the retail of Windows 7, this can perform the installation, then use the activation key 7 windows OEM COA label, the same process is possible if your laptop comes with Vista.  A complete description (including links to downloads of Vista Image) of it on the following link.

  • I need a link for windows 7 starter 32 bit X 16-96078

    I need a link for windows 7 starter 32 bit X 16-96078. If possible!

    Hello

HP do not offer a download for the recovery media option, but there are two options available.

    1. you can order a set of replacement of the recovery media using the link below - it will reinstall the operating system, all the drivers, and almost all of the original software (the exception being often tests of MS Office).  They will also recreate all of the original scores, including the recovery Partition.

    Order HP recovery disks.

2 you can use the following method to create your own Windows 7 Starter 32-bit installation media.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can still read all the key character product activation 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create Windows 7 installation yourself using another PC. However, it not there no download directly available for Windows 7 Starter, so you'll need to download another version (one will do, but the link below is for Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit - the source of the image is Digital River).

    Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit SP1.

For the key on your label of COA to work, you must now use the method described in the following link to convert this ISO to an all-version Installer - the section that require you to edit the ISO is Step 1 DVD universal (although you will create an installer from usb, the method to change the ISO is the same).

    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/85813-Windows-7-universal-installation-disc-create.html

Once done, use an application like Rufus to create a bootable Windows 7 usb flash drive.

Use the Flash drive to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA in the request and one time Setup is complete, use the 'method of phone", described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system - this method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

    http://www.kodyaz.com/articles/how-to-activate-Windows-7-by-phone.aspx

You may need for your laptop, software and additional pilots are in entering either the complete model number or Nr here.

  • Windows 7 recovery failed with recovery disks

I have a 5380qd All in One Omni 200 old 2 years with windows 7 home premium, I7 CPU 2.9 ghz, 8 GB of RAM. The problem started when I noticed that my fan was all the time. So, I cleaned the vents and such fan indicated in the How To section. This has not solved the problem. Soon there after, I received a form of high utilization of the processor Norton error. I opened the task manager a saw that my cpu was fortification to 100% every 10 seconds or more. The next day, I turned on my computer with a blue screen which introduced this error: 0xe0ef000

From there I put my repair disc then shut down the computer then restarted and to perform diagnostics and noticed that he was trying to repair my D: drive which is my recovery partition. No there is not an otion availble so he can fix my C: drive, but he said 'not able to repair, call the HP technical support'. However, I was able to get my OS to perform more troubleshooting.

So I consulted the Action Center to realize that there are more errors

    Problem event name: BlueScreen

    OS version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3

    Find the ID: 1033

    BCCODE: a

    BCP1: 0000000000000000

    BCP2: 0000000000000002

    BCP4: FFFFF80002C98CD4

    OS version: 6_1_7601

    Service Pack: 1_0

    Product: 768_1

I ran the CD of diagnosis of Vision that I created when I first bought the computer and all tests except for the Blue Ray writing test only because I had not a RADIUS blue to write in.

Therefore, I have concluded that the POST works very well and all the activities before are very well until the operating system loads. I then used the comand of msconfig to disable all the services initially upwards and always had the 100% cpu problem. Then ran the provided AV startup disk from the MS site and found no virus. Also ran my Norton who has not found a virus. So I decided I would make a recovery of the system with 3 recovery disks. At halfway through the second drive, I got an error 0xe0ef000, "Windows recovery has no" contact Support. Now, I have no OS, because it has been formatted for the first part of the resumed. Then, please?

    Hello

Drive replacement hard is surprisingly simple and short on it's lower.

Your computer is listed as coming with a 500 GB hard drive, but you can also easily install a 750 GB HARD drive if you want a little more space - readers at the following links are examples that would be perfect for your laptop.
