Windows 7 Home Premium do not discover 3 TB HARD drive

Update on the case where someone has the same problem: it turns out that all the extra SATA cables I had were bad. Thanks for your help!

Hello

I have 2 SSD drives and a 3 TB HARD drive on my computer. I managed to create a partition on my first SSD that I use as my main boot drive. My second SSD is for games. However, when I put in place the two SSD to save them on my HARD drive, I can not even find the HARD disk in disk management.

Everything else works correctly, but I can't find the HARD drive under disk management. I have re-checked connections and it is fully connected and I can hear it turn up. Here are my specs:

Intel i5-4690

Card mother Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD3H-BK

16 GB G.SKILL RAM Ares

Radeon R9 290 X

EVGA SuperNOVA 220 - P2 - X 1 750W PSU

The HARD drive is a WD Green WD30EZRX 3 TB IntelliPower

Go here--> http://support.wdc.com/product.aspx?ID=705&lang=en

Click on the "Downloads" tab, then click the link "Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for DOS"

Click on the button "More info" for instructions.

Download the dlgdiag_x_xx.zip file

Create a bootable USB key, boot your computer from it and run the program of diagnosis.

If the Data Lifeguard Diagnostics cannot find your 3 TB drive, either (1) the player is bad (although it turns), (2) SATA data cable is bad, or (3) your motherboard SATA port is bad.

If I were you, I would temporarily unplug the SSD gaming and the 3 TB drive WD to the SATA port where the SSD game was connected.  You know that the port is good because it works with the SSD.  If you disconnect the cable at the end SSD that will allow the WD drive, you also eliminate the cable as the problem.  See (2) & (3) above.

  • Re-installed Windows 7 Home Premium, because I had the bad hard drive.

Well, I didn't not on jelly bean or checking registry before you have the hard drive replaced. My windows product key is on bottom of laptop, but after a few wear some letters are hard to distinguish. Any ideas on what I can do to recover the key. I probably have more than 90% of the letters. There are only 3 letters I can't make out more substiuting I tried the letters that are used with the key. Please tell me that there is something.

    Hello

In these Forums, it is often recommended to use a magnifying glass and a flashlight to see if you can read the numbers of the product key on the label.

Or as one poster suggested, take a photo and enlarge.

You can contact the manufacturer of your laptop, if the operating system has been pre-installed and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks and to reinstall the operating system.

They should do this for a small fee.

The relocation method above does not normally allows you to provide a product key during Installation, the recovery process uses the Installation product key factory to activate automatically during the resettlement process.

    See you soon.

  • Windows 7 Home Premium does not load

I am currently in safe mode with network. The two safemodes work very well.

However, my Normal Windows 7 Home Premium will not load. I get a black screen after startup. Windows will not even go to the Page of the user.

I was at my desk and clicked on the Mozilla Firefox browser. When a guest is up asking if its 'ok' firefox in the Trash Dump. Then, he gave me 29 guests asking if it is "ok". Of course, I clicked 'No' which then froze my computer.

Then, I Hardbooted the computer and went to restart. After the bios loading system... my computer would achieve was a black screen.

Since then, I did a system restore to several days before. And that has not fixed the problem.

My guess is that I've damaged some system files? Or is it a virus. I use Avast basic protection.

Please get back to me with more information. Thank you

    Hi Michael,

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

According to the description, I understand you get a black screen after start up.

This could happen due to conflicts between third-party applications.

You can disconnect all external devices except the keyboard and mouse and check if you are able to boot to the desktop and check.

I also recommend what to do the Startup Repair. Follow these steps:

    Hello

It's a normal reaction after replacing the hardware that you have replaced.

The hard drive with the installed operating system contains the old motherboard drivers, etc..

They must be replaced with the new motherboard, drivers etc.

You will need to reinstall the operating system and then install the new drivers of motherboard (you should have a diskette of drivers for it), if the new installation does not probably them, that it will not...

To backup your data > buy a hard drive USB enclosure > put your hard drive in it > plug it into another computer > read and copy your data from it in this way.

No matter what help for what registry key that I need to restore would be appreciated.

Problem found. The virus was not completely removed. Microsoft Security Essentials found an infected file, but could not remove it and if the file could be restored from somewhere, restart in safe mode rename the copy of wrong file (Window\System32\dnsapi.dll) a correct known copy of the file in the system directory and now Windows to validate properly when restarting.

  • Windows 7 Home Premium - "does not work Windows genuine" pop up

My Windows 7 Home Premium has been installed, activated and working perfectly for the past 18 months. I've been on the last few days PF, make popup windows telling me "this computer is not running genuine Windows" (0x8004fe21). This is obviously false because I bought the upgrade directly from Microsoft in November 2011 and it has been fine.

When I click "Pay online now", the Microsoft site runs a quick scan and then points me to a download page of Windows 7 for £75.

I have already tried to get the license key, restart the laptop, launching an update of Windows and reboot again - all to nothing does and I still get seriously irritating popup.

Any ideas why this has suddenly started happening and how to fix it?
