  • Windows Firewall/Internet connection problems

Recently, a problem came with my Windows Firewall. I don't know what caused the change, but I'll be surfing the internet very well, when a small bubble appears in my task bar that says: "your computer may be at risk. No firewall is turned on. "This has happened in the past, but when I clicked on the bubble to check before, my firewall is activated, so I simply rejected it. However, just a couple of days I noticed that when this bubble came, my internet connection would fail temporarily. So, when I saw the notice again once my firewall was not turned on, I checked. It seems that Windows Firewall turns itself off tension. I have no idea why he would do this. I manually turned it on again several times, but still it does.

I run Windows XP Media Center Edition and (to my knowledge) have all the service packs/updates.

Well, I asked a friend gifted in computer science, he suggests Spybot. I downloaded spybot, scanned my computer and found a Windows Firewall security override in my registry. Deleted Spybot, and now all is well again. This is a very quick and easy solution.

  • Disabled all incoming in the Windows Firewall, internet connections still work

I have disabled all inbound connections in windows firewall, but not noticed any problem with my internet connection. Weird how? For example, I let Internet Explore establish outbound connections, but do not allow for it or any other service/program to receive incoming connections. But Internet Explorer still gets responses from the servers on the internet when the requesting State pages and I also get a response from the DNS server of my ISP when IE tries to resolve ips domains. Weird. I misunderstood the meaning of incoming connections or there is a huge security hole in windows firewall.

    Hi Semjon,

This setting blocks all unsolicited attempts to connect to your computer. Use this setting when you need maximum protection for your computer, for example when you connect to a public network in a hotel or airport, or when a computer worm spreads on the Internet. With this setting, you are not notified when Windows Firewall blocks programs, and programs on the Exceptions list are ignored.

When you select block all incoming connections, you can still view most Web pages, send and receive electronic mail and send and receive instant messages.

  • Windows 7 - Internet connection drops regularly

    Howdy

OK, let's start first. I widely studied this issue, nothing works, is a lot of people saw it and this is not unique to the computer of the person.

The question. I have a Mac Book Pro and it has bootcamp on it, that allows me to partition and run in native mode, Windows 7. Once again, this problem arose for both users of bootcamp and not. When using my Mac, I am able to use both wireless and Ethernet for the internet, no problem. When I'm on Win 7, I lose my internet connection sporadically. If I was on average, about once every 90 minutes or more. It does not matter that I use LAN or wireless, the same incident rate. The error is still the same, I got an IP address not valid. I run the built in Explorer to fix the internet connection tool, he immediately restores then connection and then I'm good for another 90 minutes or more.

I have to use Bootcamp for some projects client and when Im in the middle of such collaboration and Im suddenly started because of internet fall, its super frustrating. There is a lot of info about it on the internet, but no real solution permanent. Help, please.

    Thank you

    B

I found an article that seems to fix the problem, we'll see. I forgot the exact names of things, but I had to go where all network connections and disable everything except the LAN line, there were three against one. Then, I went in the LAN settings and uncheck something in the direction of version 6? It was a box that I simply disabled. I was able to run several hours without a drop, more stable later today.

    Thanks for the reply.

  • Windows 7 Internet connection issues

I have a Dell desktop for 2 years and has worked well before.

Recently, the hard drive was broken down and Dell has replaced a new hard drive for me. When the hard drive is replaced, the Windows 7 (64-bit professional) was necessary to re - install. Subsequently, there is a problem for internet connection.

When I connect the computer to the internet through a router or directly to the port, it works very well for the first 10 to 15 minutes. Then it stops. If I click on refresh in the browser, I need to wait for a few minutes until connectivity active again, but it lasts for only 1 to 2 minutes and stops again. And I need to wait a few minutes... and so on.

If I connect to the internet through the router, when this problem occurs, it will affect other computers (Windows XP and Vista), no matter via LAN or wireless. Zero the computer can connect to the internet. And when the Dell computer is able to connect to the internet at this "1-2 minutes', the other computers can connect as well, also as"1 to 2 minutes"

If I turned off the Dell computer or unplug the cable from the Dell computer, other computers are working perfect.

I thought it might be the card network problem, so I tried the Ethernet USB adapter instead. However, the same problem persists. So, I guess it could be due to Windows 7.

I am sure that this is not a problem of my ISP, not the router, not on the cable and should not be the network card (unless the connection via USB Ethernet Adapter still needs to go through the network card)...

Anyone know how to fix this? Please teach me in detail, thank you.

    Thank you for all.

    I discovered the problem already.

I have installed KM Player as my Media Player, and it includes a program called "PA... TV"(I forgot the name and surname). This software does all the problem I mentioned above.

After that I uninstalled the AP «...» TV', the problem does not exist until this moment, do not know the future...

P.S. I still don't know why the AP «...» TV"blocked the connection regularly. I also installed it on my computer at home, but using Windows XP. He has no problem at all. Don't know why it has problem in Windows 7

  • How to set up windows xp Internet connections

I have setup a WiFi connection to a computer running xp, but cannot get the internet to work on the machine.  I have no problem getting vista a 07 for work.  It is not a problem with the interenet as such, I do not know how the older type Setup.  Thanks for the first prize of the answer.

Why doesn't have Service Pack 3 installed summer years ago?

If this computer is already connected to the Internet without an active antivirus application, there is no saying what state it is, or why things don't work properly.

There are several "used any type of connection"error messages. "  One you get will help determine what may be your problem (s).

What sort of terrible problems did you?  Where these problems with that computer?

This comment - the signal is Excellent - suggests that your connection problem may be related to wireless encryption.

    • What type of encryption is configured on the router?
    • What is the brand and model of the adapter wireless to the computer problem (look in the Device Manager (start > run > devmgmt.msc > OK) If you are not sure).

    Repost:

Is it [the computer problem] close enough to your router so that you can (temporarily) connect by Ethernet cable?

Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK)

    • Type the following line in the black command prompt window and press enter

      ipconfig/all > "% userprofile%\Desktop\ipinfo.txt".

    • Find ipinfo.txt on your desktop, copy it to a USB flash drive, move the USB flash drive to the computer you use to connect to the Internet, open the file with Notepad, copy the text and paste it into your reply here.

    Hello

Your router could be suspicious here, you have successfully updated its firmware as a possible solution? And I would like to
Update your WiFi drivers on computers. How you are positioned in the router? Are there
    obstacles in the path?

Actually try updating your driver and disabling the network logon.

Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - write
version - click the driver update (cannot do something that MS is far behind the pilots of certification). Then
Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-Device-Manager-install-driver.html

Download - SAVE - go where you put it - right click – RUN AS ADMIN.

You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.

After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version. (The
manufacturer of system become your backup policies).

Repeat for network (NIC) card and is a good time to get the other updated drivers as Vista like
    updated drivers.

I would also turn off auto update for the drivers. If the updates Windows suggests a just HIDE as they
are almost always old, and you can search drivers manually as needed.

Make sure you know the details of connection to your wireless router - SSID and password.

You lose connection when you do and have to redo your logon.

Control Panel - Network & Sharing Center - right, click Customize - page set of network locations.
lower left click on merge or delete network locations - REMOVE all instances of your network (and the

  • Windows 7 Internet connection sharing unique question.

Hi I'm looking for help here.

I have a unique configuration that I used on Windows XP for a long time.
but I can't make it work on windows 7.

    Here's the Setup program.

    Main link: USB WIFI Dongle.
is the one I want to share

an Ethernet connection. go to a WRT - 54G router.

The connection would be shared on the router. so, all of the devices in my house can also get internet.

But in windows 7, I am unable to do this.

On Windows XP, I just had to click Network Setup Wizard.
He would ask what your primary was (my USB key) and then secondary (my ethernet cable)

But it's not working on windows 7...

    Thanks for any help.

    I actually use an almost identical installation at the present time;

    3G dongle > XP box > router/AP access > network

I also had a Windows 7 implemented under the node of the ICS without problem - I'll have to see if I remember how to do it.

Select the Dongle adapter in network connections - right click and select Properties

On the sharing tab, put a checkmark in the box "allow other network users...". ", and then select any wired network is connected to the incoming router ethernet port.

Make sure that the router is set to 192.168.0.1/255.255.255.0 IP and mask

    .. ... who should be.
