Initialization creates the Master Boot Record (but not partitions). When you install Windows partitions (C: Windows and system partitions are created). The system partition is for Windows 7 150 MB (very small partition that contains data for Startup Configuration that needs to load Windows), the Windows C: partition occupies the space remaining on your hard drive. The exceptions are HP, Dell factory installed systems, Etc. which additional scores.
