Windows 7 menu drop down menus invisible

Just upgrade from Vista home premium to version W7 Home premium and the drop down menus are not visible.  I can see an overview of the menus but no content or hotspots click.  This applies to the start menu (close on the menu drop-down) and the Outlook menus.

Windows Update has nothing to with the upgrade of Windows. • How to make menu drop-down menus to stay open long enough to use

Since the last version of Firefox has been installed, I usually can't drop boxes at work, as they open from time to time, but won't stay open long enough to select an item.
This does not happen in all other browsers that I use in my work as a web designer, or when using other programs...
It happens on both computers, running Win7 professional office and the other, a Sony Vaio, running Win7 ultimate.
The two are on their native resolution of 1920 x 1080. Change the resolution makes no difference.
I tried different scales using CTRL + and CTRL - nothing helped.
Is it possible to revert to the previous version as it has done since I have updated some time ago.

Try to disable in Firefox hardware acceleration if the issue returns.

    Hello

You did changes to the computer before the show?

    Method 1
I suggest you perform the clean boot and check if the problem persists. Clean boot will disable all of the third-party program to see if any third-party program is causing the problem. When you perform the clean boot make sure that you also disable all antivirus and firewalls on the computer.

The issue could be due to a virus on the computer. I suggest you run virus scan online by using the Microsoft safety scanner.

  • need HELP with the help of the drop-down menus

    Hello

as a newbie, I did have a lot of luck trying to get my drop-down menus to appear in front of my flash file. y at - there someone who can help me or at least point me in the right direction?

    thanx, greatly appreciated

All active content on a page will always come to the top, so to speak,
including Flash, some elements of form, Java applets and controls Active X.
This means that each one will push through the layers. It is not a good
Cross-browser/platform reliable way to solve this problem, but if you can be
confident in your visitors using IE 5 + or NN6 +, you can then use the Flash
setting wmode (However, Safari does not support this correctly!).

  • Menu bar 'View' drop-down menus do not work except option 'character encoding '.

    V33.0.1 FF
For past several updates I asked problems with drop-down menus. 'See' on the Menu bar is an exzmple. Pnly 'Character encoding' option works correctly. Similar problem occurs in many other places including LastPass extension which I use a lot.

An empty menu appears right without entries. But the problem is not consistent.

Heals the problem to the menu bar of FF and other questions of FF from FF in safe mode. But I can't find which plugin or extension is causing the problem.

    All ideas

Hello makatikid, try Disabling graphics hardware acceleration and check again.

You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

    Then perform the following steps:

    1. Open the Firefox Options window as follows:

      • Click the menu button

        and select Options

    2. In the Options of Firefox window, click the Advanced tab, and then select general.
    3. You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.
    4. Now restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

In addition, please check the updates for your graphics driver by following the steps in the following knowledge base articles:

In firefox safe mode, hardware acceleration is disable.

    Thank you.

  • The drop-down menus, context menus and menu for Auto-filling items are not displayed!

    I FF4 beta, it started from FF4 beta 7. I'm working on Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit.

The problem is that I can't see drop-down menus unless they have many elements, or context menus (such as highlighting a text then right click on it), auto fill bars no longer view AutoFill info is entered before... the menu itself appears a bit. but it is transparent and I can not display the items, do not know where to click to select the thing I want.

I don't have this problem before 4.0b7... after I got it, I thought it was one of the plugins, so I disabled them all but still have the problem!

A picture describing the problem encountered is taken here, now on this page, I've highlighted a text and right click on it: here you can see the menu appears somehow, surrounded by the red border, but I'm not!

    Tools > Options > advanced

Under navigation try disabling use hardware acceleration when available. It shouldn't affect the context menus like this, but who knows with NVIDIA cards.

  • Menus invisible in the context menus of firefox in the drop-down menus e

When I right click on the address bar, the menu does not appear, it remains invisible, and I do not see the options. The same thing happens with firefox menu (print menu) and in the options (drop-down menus).

A print showing what I'm saying.

I had the same problem and found that by going to
    Options > advanced > general
and uncheck the option "use hardware acceleration when available" my problem has been resolved.

  • The mouse only works in the active window and cannot select drop-down menus (W7)

    Hello

I can't understand what is the cause. I can only select things in the active window with my mouse, I can't move the window, I can't click on anything whatsoever outside of it.

ATM by writing this, I can not open another program or select the bar of tasks or do anything outside that window. (unless I use CTRL-ALT-DEL and force to select a new active window with my keyboard)

Another thing is that everything works within the window, except one thing, menus drop down, I can bring up the menu drop-down but can not select anything on the menu.

I reinstalled windows to do this same thing. I can't understand why windows doesn't let me choose some things outside my main window, it's that I'm sort of protected mode.

    Thanks for any help

    Hello

    -What is laptop or desktop?
-What is the brand and model of the mouse? Is it wired or wireless mouse?
-Have you tried plugging the mouse on another computer?

Method 1: I would also say you update the drivers for the mouse on the computer and check if it helps.
Updated a hardware driver that is not working properly

Method 2: Also, I suggest you use Microsoft Safety scanner to make sure that your computer is free from malware and check if it helps.
    Microsoft safety scanner
    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again. The Microsoft Safety Scanner is not a replacement for the use of antivirus software that offers continuous protection. For a real-time protection that helps you keep your home or small office PC against viruses, spyware and other malicious software, download Microsoft Security Essentials.
Method 3: I suggest you try to check with the other mice to make sure that the problem is not with the computer.

If it is a laptop, I suggest you to check if a FN key function is to to do this. As you are facing the issue after reinstalling the operating system, I also suggest you check with the manufacturer of the computer, if there is this key.

    Hope this information helps.
  • Drop-down menus player contained invisible

I am running Ubuntu 11.10 9.4.7. The drive in the drop-down menus have either no text in them or the text is the same color as the background. I tried to change the Ubuntu theme but the problem remains.

Found an option to make the permanent solution.

    Launch the Terminal.

Paste this 'cd /etc/X11/Xsession.d' (without the quotes).

    A file edit open separately.

Paste this "export UBUNTU_MENUPROXY = 'acroread': $UBUNTU_MENUPROXY ' in the Editor window.

    Save the file.

    Output terminal.

    Make a new connection.

The menu option appears in the taskbar, but it would work.

When I click on 'file', 'Edition', etc. in Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer, the menu drop-down appears to the right what I'm clicking on., making it sometimes difficult to get to the line on the drop-down list, I want to access.  He acted in this way for a while, but I think much about it until I was on a friends computer that do not have the problem.  Anyone know how I can fix this problem?  Running Vista Home Premium SP2 on a Toshiba Satellite A215-S4807 laptop.  Thank you!

It is perhaps a workaround for you...

If you leave space on the left of the screen, the drop-down list box on the left side.
Like this.. .notice that some of my desktop icons appear on the left where the space was.

Then by typing a site name in IE - I type guard pointing out himself.  Have to continue to put the cursor at the end of what I already typed and hit very quickly the next letter then repeat until I get the whole address instead it wipes that out and I have to start over.  Tried to restore to an earlier date.  Performed many scans for malware.  Boot in safe mode and I do not see the problem.  Changed to low resolution via the safe mode screen and the problem is still there.  Nothing seems to work.  Any help out there for this?

How can I add the 'combine' order in my dropdown Windows Acrobat 9 Pro? He was there and is very useful for downloading and file management.  I would just select the files that I wanted out of any Windows to combine and convert to .pdf folder and select 'Combine' in the drop-down window. The window of "Combine" Acrobat open with my selected files in place ready to go forward with the combination. Do not know how the order disappeared in menu drop down but I want to go back!
