Windows 7 - network issue

In Windows 7, I need to change the properties of a network folder name when the data is placed under the folder (example: If a file is placed in the folder I want to change the color of the name of the folder from black to red).  Does anyone know how to do this?

  1. In the Finder 'Go' menu, select 'Go to folder' (optional: cmd-SHIFT-G)
  2. Enter the path to the following folder: / var/db/dslocal/nodes
  3. Get info on the "Default" folder and the "everyone" access "read and write" user (after authentication)
  4. Open the folder "Default" and do the same thing for the "everyone" user file "Config."
  5. Open the "Config" folder and do the same thing for the "SharePoint" folder
  6. Finally, open the "SharePoint" folder, and there should be individual for each shared folder ".plist" files
  7. For the part that you want to change the name, get info on the file matching ".plist" and give the "everyone" user "read and write" access (ditto)
  8. Rename the file "old_name.plist" in "new_desired_name.plist".
  9. Open the file in a text editor and replace instances of "ancien_nom" the "new_desired_name" (same as the name of the file). Do this ONLY for the following 4 keys: name, afp_name, ftp_name and smb_name. Do NOT change the key directory_path entry (this is the location of the folder on the hard disk)
  10. If the folder should be a public folder, the name of «»

    Dear Microsoft,

My internet is perfect. Other computers are perfect, but there is now a computer. An Acer Iconia Tab the W500 to be more precise. This computer had Windows 7 top and was very slow, and the internet cut into once in a while. When I went to help out, the 'detected problem' was 'a cable is not correctly plugged' and 'problem with the access point', but that is not true. The internet has worked with other devices in my house. Another reason, I know that it is not this, because he says the same thing in any other place, and then he refuses all connections in the region, to me saying 'No available networks', while everything else works!

This computer, got only Windows 8 is installed. Windows 8 is very nice, and I want to congratulate the team and very soft works. The computer has not stuck or run slowly, for now. But guess what. The internet does not work. He tells me the same thing. My uncle suggested that there was a problem with the hardware, because the computer was all erased and has a new operating system, Windows 8, but what it could be? Where would it be? This is the question I ask. Maybe I could get it fixed elsewhere? What are the causes of the internet by computer recognition which is material? Kindly, let me know. This problem as been there for years and I would be grateful, not buy a new device.

It's not that old, I got it in 2010 or 2011.

I understand it can not be a problem for Microsoft, but the contact Acer service is complicated and limit to a valid warranty. But hey, someone here can have the answer.

Also the touch screen does not work.

    Thank you.

    Hello

Thanks for the detailed description on this issue. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.

This problem may be caused by damaged or incompatible network adapter drivers. If you have no compatible drivers on the computer, you may experience this type of question.

Good to know that you're happy with Windows 8, however without having to worry can solve this problem by trying a few troubleshooting steps.

  • Connection to a Mac on a Windows 7 network

I have a MacBook Air on a network of PC (Windows 7), and I can connect the PC to the Mac, but not the reverse. I used to be able to communicate in both directions, but I think I forgot the password I need to connect from the PC. Here is what is happening on the PC:

-Windows Explorer > network displays two icons of computer, JOHNS-AIR (Mac) and the FLOOR (PC).

-I double-click JOHNS-AIR, get a dialog titled "Windows security" that says "enter your password to connect to: JOHNS-AIR" and displays a Userid (to the FLOOR/jatay) and a text box empty for the password. The part "jatay' of the user ID is the name of the home folder on the Mac, and it's a shared folder.
-I provide my Apple ID, I use the password as a password for my Mac, and it is rejected: "connection failure: unknown username or bad password."

If my ID Apple for Mac is the wrong password, where can I find the right one?

For what it's worth, I used a PC "Network Password Recovery" utility to try to find the password and for ' domain: target = JOHNS-AIR "it returns"UPSTAIRS\jatay"for the user and my Apple ID password.

    Any info, thanks a lot.

    Hello

Since you have a problem with your login for an Apple ID, we suggest you get in contact with Apple support team to provide you with assistance of your concern.

  • Windows 7 network icon systems do not show popup connections

Normally, when you simply right click on the Windows 7 network icon in the system tray, it opens a window showing your connections and available all other connections. Now however, after using the laptop for several hours, and after that unlocks a few Office and a resumption of the mode standby, this no longer works. I click and nothing happens. The only way I can access this is right-click on the icon, open the network and sharing Center then click on "connect or disconnect." It is a pain I need to connect/disconnect continuously different VPN.

If I re-boot it starts working again. I can't find the exact scenario to make, work stoppage, but it happens regularly.

Hope there is a fix for this.

    Hello world

We have configured our Cisco devices to use Windows 2008 network POLICY server for RADIUS.  However, we cannot configure aaa represents priv 15 commands to use the same radius servers for recording of commands in privileged mode.  When you set up by using the following command:

AAA commands 15 arrhythmic default accounting RADIUS_SERVERS group

I noticed that there is only GANYMEDE + servers 'group' categories and optional.  After entering the server radius group, I realized that the command is not saved and by inspecting the logs I saw the following:

The 'MF_RAD' server group is not a Ganymede server group. Please define "RADIUS_SERVERS" as a Ganymede server group.

This means that the function of accounting 'orders' (and probably most others) can be activated only when you use a GANYMEDE Server +?

    Thanks in advance

You're absolutely right. Accounting command only works with Ganymede. We cannot have the command for the radius Protocol accounting. RADIUS accounting only gives you start and stop sessions package.

  • Works Suite 2003 will not install on windows 7. compatibility issue?

Original title: Works Suite 2003 will not install on windows 7. compatibility issue? If so how to solve it.

I tried to install Works Suite 2003 on my laptop using Windows 7, 64 bit. He has a problem loading and wants to perform a clean boot. The boot minimal instructions do not apply to windows 7, so how can I get this Microsoft program on this computer running a Microsoft OS?

    Hello

    ·        Which edition of Windows 7 you are using?

Works Suite 2003 is not compatible with Windows 7. Click on the link below.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/search.aspx?l=en-us&type=software&s=works%20Suite%202003%20&OS=64-bit

You can try the byAndre.Ziegler suggested in his previous post suggestions, but note that XP mode will only work if you have Windows 7 Professional / Enterprise / ultimate.

Apart from this, you can install the program in compatibility mode and check if it works or not.

  • OfficeJet pro 8600 kills Windows XP Networking

OfficeJet pro 8600, several computers Windows XP networking.

I have 4 different 8600 OfficeJet Pro installed on 4 different sites, purchased from different vendors. In any case, I get the same problem.

There is a network problem. All printers are connected to the network.

The printer is not the cause of the problem. The problem persists even if the printer is turned off.

The problem is that: when the computer is turned on all night, the next morning, Web pages aren't accessible, and the networks of communication with the printer is missing. You cannot print, and you can not navigate.

You can ping the router, ping the external DNS servers, and you can test Web pages. Navigation is affected. And printing.

Turning the printer off and restarts do not affect the problem. Restarting the computer solves the problem.

Kill all the services of iexplorer running in taxk Manager solves the problem.

HP support says it is a XP problem and they have no intension to work on the problem. They think it's a network problem disconnected operating system after 2 hours. They are wrong. I left the computer alone for more than 4 hours and the problem is. It occurs if you leave the computer on all night.

Windows XP-based computers were all updated for the latest updates and are running SP3.

The solution is to disable the computer function on computer analysis, solves the problem of navigation.  Always change the notification of ink for printing only.  This action has resolved the problem of printing defect.

I have the latest version of the software and the latest firmware.

I can't believe that if panasonic can write software because it has networked copiers (all printers) that still work and are easy to install on windows xp, HP cannot write similar software.  I am referring to analyze computer software.

  • Windows 2008 network load balancing

    I hope someone can help.

I'm looking to start to test the Windows 2008 network load balancing. This will serve a webfarm. I went through various whitepapers, and forum messages but who have a few more questions:

    1. I get VMWare recommends multicast. Windows 2008 gives you two options, multicast and IGMP multicast. Seeing that I'm not an expert in network management, I'm a little nervous about the switched. Apparently to enable IGMP Snooping on your Cisco switches eliminate this? Is this true, if so you need install your cluster as IGMP Mulicast?

2 do you need to have dedicated NICs for the NLB cluster, separate vSwitch etc.? If this is not the case, there will be interference with the existing production network?

3 is a necessary static arp entry on your switch? All switches or just the farm goes where the ESX hosts are connected to?

    Some info would be appreciated.

1 have not tested, but IGMP snooping is what caused problems before because the switch ports would not join the group correctly, so it is suitable to test whether the OS is ready to send packets.

    2. it is better to use separate vNIC to the virtual IP address of the NLB cluster

3 static arp would be necessary if the IGMP snooping does not work for the switch ports that will be the virtual machine hosts that are part of the NLB cluster.
