Windows 7 odbc repetitive signon

Since put society to upgrade to Windows 7, XP, last week, we have to repeatedly sign protected from ODBC to Access 2010 links.  Sometimes he invites opening of session and password + 15 times before opening the link.  A few times, he refused opening of session and password correct and blocking.
Environment: Win7, MS Access 2010, Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (15.5 customer), 32-bit applications.

We build the ODBC DSN using C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe and take all the default values.

One of our Sybase databases was told today that the passwords are cached, and when you enter a wrong password once, that he could to this wrong password for future attempts.  She could not offer more help.
During the reconstruction of access ODBC using 'Linked Table Manager' links and checking "always prompt for A new place", sometimes there sign one or more for each link, and a few times it will treat 50 + links requiring only one consult with, as we have always done in XP.
I develop applications in Access, Excel and Word using VBA, and I'm pulling my hair out trying to understand why most of the calls to open ODBC links fail.

Any help appreciated.

Pinaki,

Thank you for your response.  After that I posted this on the Microsoft forum, I found a few posts on the Sybase support site which lead me to believe that it is a Sybase 15.5 customer issue rather than a problem of Windows 7, so I'm going to pursue this avenue.  Thanks for your help.

You have defined 2 separate listeners:
The first is called listener and uses port 1521 which contains the DG4MSQL entry in the SID_LIST_LISTENER. The second listener is called LISTENER_D4GMSQL and is listening on port 1511 - but this listener has no section of SID.

Your tnsnames.ora contains as port 1511, so when you try to use the link data base based on tnsnames.ora alias dg4msql connection is made to the LISTENER_DG$ MSQL (as this one is listening on 1511). But this listener does not have the SID DG4MSQL and so the connection fails.

You can now change your configuration by editing the tnsnames.ora file by ensuring that you use the listening port that serves the DG4MSQL SID:

    dg4msql =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = tcp)(HOST=localhost) (PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = dg4msql))
    (HS = OK)
    )

    # SIDE NOTE: Make sure the LISTENER named listener has been started and serves the SID DG4MSQL

or by modifying your listener.ora file name change
    SID_LIST_LISTENER to SID_LIST_LISTENER_DG4MSQL
Afterwards please, STOP and START the utility LISTENER_DG4MSQL lsnrctl listener.

  • Server source through ODBC import

    Hello

I'm to access the server of BI 11.1.1.3.0 on Linux x86_64 of the tool of Administration 11.1.1.3.0 on Windows XP SP3 32 - bit. Everything's fine when I use OIC 11 g. Now to import an interrogation of events table that I need to import it using ODBC as explained [url http://gerardnico.com/wiki/dat/obiee/event_table] here, otherwise I get the dreaded error message "the event of election cache table has an incorrect schema."

So I set up an ODBC DSN for my server using odbcad32. Test of connection of odbcad and also on "Oracle Business Intelligence" ok-> input menu "client ODBC BI." I can connect to the schema and table I want to import.

Now, when you try to import in the Administration tool I get the error "connection failed" and in the file nqserver.log on the server:

    Chris HY,

You can try to import locally (not in online mode) from your computer/laptop Windows with a Windows DSN ODBC.
Then you can bring your space on the Linux server and change the connection to the OIC.

    See you soon

    > ODBC driver manager... Data source name not found

This seems to be looking for a DSN (data set name) ODBC drivers. If she wants a DSN, DSN must be specified in the code, and the DSN must be configured in windows host ODBC applet. It is therefore at least two squirrels to get in the tree on the right before going forward. A... host:... [port:] SID | name of the service are a few necessary bits in a jdbc connection string, and is in no way related to DSN. A whole different Animal. If she wants a DSN that could be what it takes to go to URL bit.

And ODBC configurations can be confusing, especially if an x 64 operating system is the mix - if this is the case there are two different ODBC configuration cmdlets, one for x 64 for x 86, and if one gets as much as to talk to a real database he could launch a mistake of the architecture. Only way to solve this 'problem' is * delete * the ODBC DSN and then run the correct config utility (maybe the x 86) ODBC and set up the DSN. Once again.

  • MS Access problem

    Hello

I really need help with that. I can't seem to run queries against database MS Access, although I was able to create the data source to him.

I am under Dev 6.1 as a server built on Vista Home Basic.

I posted this yesterday and have so far achieved to date:

Vista is not supported. Most likely, there is a problem with the new
security of the registry under Vista, which means that you are lucky because then you
can save the DB access from Control Panel and then use
    It is in the CF.

    Jochem

but I don't know how to "access DB from the Control Panel, and then use".
    ' it to the CF.

    Thank you very much

first of all, I suggest that upgrade you to CF702 as soon as possible.

Then, try to create a system in windows (sources ODBC) DSN, then
use ODBC connection in CF Admin to set up the CF DSN.

I have no idea where it is on Vista, but in XP to configure ODBC data
you go to Control Panel - administrative tools - the Sources of data sources
    (ODBC) - system DSN

do not know if on the "home basic" version you not even this option...

    Hi all, :-)

I hope that some of you are able to help me, because I'm stuck in a situation which is very frustrating.

    My server configuration is:

Microsoft Windows 2008 64 bit server,

    Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2.

Via this server that im supposed to to connect to several databases IBM Lotus Notes 8.5, which are placed on other servers.

I would like to install the latest driver for Lotus Notes ODBC (8.5.1) and use it for links between Lotus Notes databases to SQL Server.

When I run the Setup, I get a dialogbox with installation information. He says that this anomang installation was successful.

My sequential current problem is, that I'm not able to see the driver anywhere. (througt datasources or c:\windows\syswow64\odbcad32).

  • Suspected that the security fix for Windows Server 2008 R2 that affect the ODBC connection.

I use Windows Server 2008 R2 and have been able to generate the crystal report connection automatically through the (System DSN) ODBC for MS SQL Server 2008 R2.

When I perform the security updates below, the crystal report would not be able to generate automatically.

    KB2641653
    KB2667402
    KB2665364
    KB2621440
When I tried to manually generate the crystal report, it prompted me the user DSN instead of the system DSN which I was their use without problems so far.
Therefore, I created the user and system DSN in the ODBC DSN and so able to invite me for connection (System dsn) but not with the ODBC connection id I created.
Everyone has experienced problems connecting to ODBC after this hotfix was updated?
