Windows 7 Professional upgrade lower

Hello

I have buyed (eight months) a laptop with Windows 7 Professional 32 bit preinstaled (OEM). After a few months, with an upgrade of RAM (from 4 to 8 G), I changed the OS, buy a 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. As I use more the 32 bit OEM OS, I want to use my right to demotion to get windows XP x 64 edition license key, as I have more use of it to have more than 4 G of Ram on all my machines.

Please, can someone tell me where I should ask for this license key? The seller send me to Microsoft and therefore the manufacturer.

I have the original of XP - x 64 edition media, all drivers for my system (the original driver CD).

Another issue, the key to license OEM I got is edition Portuguese pt - br (latam). Can I get an international (enu) license key?

Thank you for your time...

Edit: As I no longer use Windows 7 32 bit OEM OS, I would use my right of demotion for windows XP x 64 edition license key, to use it on ANOTHER computer.

Thank you.

Hello Hervé,.

If you have a Windows 7 Dell OEM 32 bit key this license is tied to the computer, on which it was installed. To get the media to downgrade to this license, you will need to talk to the OEM who first provided the license, which in this case would be Dell.

It would not be able to provide a Microsoft's OEM license product key.

Thank you

Marilyn

  • Re: Satellite Pro A300 - 2C4 "Windows 7 Professional Upgrade DVD" upgrade

We have a Satellite Pro A300 - 2C4 (bought on 23-11-09) that came with Vista Business 32-bit installed, but has been downgraded (using the provided diskette) to Windows XP due to the demands of corporate network.

When Windows 7 became available, I bought the DVD to upgrade to Windows 7 Toshiba provided so that if the company decided to upgrade to the new operating system, we could do it on this laptop.

That's what I tried recently to discover that we can't do as the DVD is for Win Vista upgrade Windows 7 Pro. What is the best way to upgrade without having to buy another drive to upgrade. I have a set of recovery disks for an another Toshiba SatellitePro A300 - 2 4 which was bought about 2 months before this one. These were created using the Toshiba recovery software before any changes have been made on the laprop. Would I be able to restore the system to its state of Windows Vista using these disks and then use the Windows 7 Professional Upgrade DVD to make the upgarde?

Suggestions or recommendations would be greatly received.

This upgrade package offered by Toshiba is upgraded from Vista to Win7. So if you want to use it, you must install Vista recovery image at first.

After that, you can upgrade pre-installed Vista to Win7 following the Toshiba s implementation instructions.
I did the same thing my Qosmio X 300.

If you cannot use created recovery disc either s order Toshiba Vista recovery disk or (perhaps the best solution) install the clean version of Win7. A300 is fully supported for Win7 and you can download all the necessary drivers and tools specific to Toshiba and utilities.

  • can upgrade you vista Home premium to vista professional in order to install windows 7 Professional upgrade?

Husband bought the windows 7 Professional upgrade.  Of course when it did not work and the message was to do a "clean install", we both had type light headed as we thought it that will take all day and probably does not work smoothly since is the most "literate" computer.  I did some internet research and according to microsoft, windows vista business upgrade to windows 7 Professional is an upgrade and not a clean install.  Is it useful to try and uprade my 64-bit edition windows Home premium windows vista professional in order to upgrade to windows 7 Professional?  I don't think we can get our money back because the packaging is open or I would say just that we trade it for ultimate.  If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.  Also I don't know even where to download vista business or haow only as much as it would cost.  Thanks in advance.

N ° there is no way to go from Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional OR Vista business without what you call a 'clean install', so there is no point in spending money to upgrade to Home Premium to business before the upgrade to Windows 7 Professional.  Upgrade Vista Home Premium only allowed on-site is ultimate.

Use Windows Easy Transfer to keep your files and settings.  Then, start the computer with the Windows 7 dvd installation and moving forward.  Do not remove Vista.  Windows 7 upgrade installation should detect a copy installed Windows so that you can use the upgrade product key.  Once you reach the installation type selection screen, you will see the upgrade option is grayed out.  Choose the custom option to continue.

If you want to do a clean install, you can use the tools on the installation type selection screen (until you click on custom) to reformat, etc., but this is not necessary if you don't mind remove the old Windows folder later.  If you start with a blank hard drive your upgrade license will be a problem then don't attempt is not a clean install of the old way.

How to make a custom installation:

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

  • X220T Windows 8 Professional upgrade possible?

    Hello

My x220T (Tablet) is currently running on Windows 7 Professional. I was wondering if this device all drivers should I upgrade to Windows 8 Professional? Thanks for the help in advance.

    Jay

    Welcome to the forum!

X220T does not meet the requirements of MS to W8.

That said, the operating system is running on it, but you may experience various problems and the overall user experience is likely to be less satisfying than W7 in my opinion.

  • Can I use an existing Windows 7 Professional Upgrade DVD for Windows 7 Professional upgrade using the keys I bought instead of loading down?

I've updated three of my computers from Windows XP Professional for Window 7 Professional using kits of DVD I bought. I have three sets of Window 7 professional DVD in my possession. I bought a new license [facility provided by Microsoft key] for my ThinkPad. I ordered also accompanying the DVD, which I imagine will happen next week. Rather than wait for the DVD, can I use one of my existing 32 Bit Windows DVD for installation to upgrade with the new license key that I got from Microsoft?

No problem - but you might want to wait, if your existing DVD is the original version, because a new will have SP1 integrated, so it'll even some hassles :)

An i3 class computer should be very able to run Windows 10 without any significant problems.

Reported on Acer community site that this model has been upgraded successfully, but it is not on the list of the devices supported Acer. This means only that Acer themselves have not tested, given the age to be provided.

Install a clean however known to give better results than an upgrade. If you have questions look to backup your data and completely wipe the system to reinstall Windows 10.

  • "Windows 7 Professional upgrade Media" do exactly?

I recently went through an episode where I had to reinstall Win7Pro on a laptop which was sold with XP on it.  I ordered and installed the 7 upgrade to buy and couldn't find the CD when I needed. [edit: CD The fine print says it is Vista Pro 7 Pro update].

Now that the box (6730 s) is back on the air, I found the upgrade disc.  I remember correctly, though, is that the XP disc must be installed and running first.  This is indeed the case or Windows 7 can be installed directly?  I hope that I don't need to experience to discover!

    Thank you.

This key should work after installing Windows 7.

Did you read the part of the article where you can do a workaround for not having a previous operating system installed by installing twice from the drive of W7 upgrade?

"--> The solution to the situation that b is just run the clean install of Windows 7 a second time." The first time simply let you the empty product key so that the installation program can complete. Once in windows after the first installation, don't bother trying to activate it. Then reinstall everything again starting from the upgrade DVD media again. I know it of completely lame and is essentially a 2 x installation, but at least you can still make a real clean installation (no need to try an upgrade in place of Windows 7 to Windows 7 sillyness), and this time, it will accept your upgrade key. »
