Windows 7, sensitivity of the touchpad, Sony VAIO

I had Windows Vista Home Premium installed on my Sony VAIO PCG-5KSP laptop.

It's never happened before, but after I installed Windows 7 the sensitivity of the touchpad went through the roof. Constantly, the cursor will be "clicked" by my finger or a wrist and move to where the mouse is located while I type.

It's already happened twice while typing this! I've already tried looking for TouchPad and looked under control panel > mouse >

There is no properties/settings tab with sensitivity. Under properties is only shows general, driver details, and if I click on change settings there again only once the general tabs, pilot and detail.

Where can I change the sensitivity of the stupid touchpad?

It's the answer - I installed Synaptics for Vista, even though I have Windows 7 - they work well together.  You can then disable your touchpad and we a bluetooth mouse and the problem is solved!  It's great.

    Hello

    Try the following.

Hold down the Windows key and press R

In the run box, type regedit and press enter

In the registry editor, navigate to the following

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTP\Install

Inside, look for a key named DeleteUserSettingsOnUpgrade

If it is present, right click on the key and select Edit

Set the field data of the value 0 (zero) , and then click Ok.

    Close the registry editor.

Make the Synaptics setting changes you need in the usual way and save them, and then check if they are now kept after a reboot.

  • Tecra A11 - how to change the sensitivity of the touchpad?

Our company has recently bought some Tecra A-11 to replace some of the old Pros of Satellite. We have noticed that there is a tendency for the mouse cursor jump from one place to another on the screen while typing causing major issues when coding and writing emails. Sometimes you just type in a place and not notice while other times it will select and remove chunks of text without noticing your.

We can lower the sensitivity or what options do we eliminate this problem.

    Hi CGAdjensen,

Yes, you can change the sensitivity of the touchpad, that s no problem. Also, I did this because the default is too sensitive for me.

So go to control panel > hardware & sound > mouse > advanced > advanced feature

    Check this box!

  • Satellite P300 - how to set the sensitivity of the touchpad?

I read all the forums without success. Is it possible to set the sensitivity of the touchpad? I went into the control panel and clicked by the mouse settings, but there is no 'Advanced' or 'Synaptics' tabs to adjust. For the moment, I use the FN + F9 to turn off the touch pad altogether, however, I hope that it is a short-term solution. Thanks for any response.

If the Synaptics driver is preinstalled on your laptop, you can find advanced settings HERE.
When you open the properties of the last option is the sensitivity.

  • How can I change the sensitivity of the touchpad on my laptop Windows 8 Samsung series 3?

I can't find a setting that allows me to adjust the touchpad sensitivity.  I can pinch to zoom in with ease, but I can't two fingers scrolling unless I dig my nails into the protector with strength.  And, even then, it works sometimes.

Settings-> Imput gives me only option to turn the touchpad on or off.

Control Panel-> hardware and sound-> Synaptics TouchPad V7.5 gives me options to set the speed and to turn on or off certain functions of drag.
Control Panel-> currencies and printers-> mouse gives me left - and right handed options, double-click speed options, pointer options, wheel (which does not have this computer) options, etc.
Where else is there to look at?  Help!  Thank you!  :)

  • Replace windows 7 with XP on a Sony Vaio

Have 2 PC Sony Vaio.  One with another XP with Windows 7.

You want to load XP on more recent (June 2011) computer instead of windows 7.
Cannot go back to dealer to the United Kingdom where we bought it because we are long term on a sailboat to the Panama.
    Dick & Jennifer Blamey

XP is an old operating system and will not work on new computers, especially those designed for windows 7.

It's like install an old volkswagen beetle engine in a new hummer.

at best, you might virtualize xp on windows 7, using a program called virtual pc from microsoft.

Virtual PC will allow xp run on windows7 desktop computer, as if it were a regular program.

but a virtualized xp does not exactly a performance, as if we're the bones of the man on an old computer.

a virtualized xp can run old programs designed for xp, but cannot run hardware / devices designed for win7.

  • Windows 7 Edition home premium download sony vaio

I have laptop sony vaio VPCSB16FG series. Without knowing it, I formatted the C drive and I lost all my backups. I wanted to download the windows 7 Home premium for sony vaio since I was the real key. How can I download operating system. Its 64-bit

As far as I know, you can't. You must contact Sony for a recovery disc, for which there will be a tax...

That said, if it was ONLY C drive you formatted, there should be a hidden partition, you can restore the machine to factory specifications.

Read the documentation that came with the computer to see how it's done...

With this part, '... just bought a Sony Vaio laptop... "I'm going to point out what is obvious and suggest that contact Sony as soon as POSSIBLE.  Supported hardware (webcam is material) and all the software that allows the hardware to communicate with the operating system you choose is the manufacturer of the equipment.  :-)

  • How to set the sensitivity of the touchpad?

I have problems with my cursor. It jumps randomly from line to line as I type. I was told that it is because I am brushing on the keyboard as I type. If that is correct, how can I do the less sensitive key?

    Thank you

There are usually options to make it less sensitive, but these options are provided by the company that made the touchpad.  Dell computers used to put options in mouse Options in Control Panel.  Toshiba computers have a special application of Toshiba to set the sensitivity.  Acer and Asus usually do it a little differently.

So you will want to first check your control panel under mouse options.  If you don't see touchpad settings, contact the manufacturer that built - they'll know where they put their options.

Or a low tech solution: put a card on the touchpad.
