Windows 7 stopped at my work SD card reader.

My SD card reader does not work in Windows 7. Have looked in Device Manager and everything is here - tried to update the drivers and says mine are more later (2006)...

I'm not impressed with this system... looks like another farce of Vista for me...

Also I had to hard starting 4 times because my screen froze... WTF is happening?

  • Work of card reader that after I restart the Satellite P305

I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I have a P305 and is the only way that the card reader is working after I restarted the computer.

If I insert the card and then take it out and try reseating the computer cannot read the card.

    Please if anyone can help.
I called technical support, but they don't have a clue.

    Thank you

Hmm, it sounds a bit as the Plug N Play service and the Smardcard would be disabled or wouldn't run properly.

You can check if these two services are running.
    You can check this in;
    Control Panel-> Administrative Tools-> Services

There you can disable and enable the services manually.

The other option would be a reinstall of card reader driver.
    Check it out!

    c. expand USB bus controllers

    d. check if no yellow bang is listed (double-click on the device with a yellow bang for the error code)

This isn't the sd card reader in need of a driver.

This is the driver you need for this device.

If you need the driver card reader, there should be a PCI device listed in Device Manager with the! brand and you would use this driver for the card reader.

    Hi, Guido:

The only suggestion I can offer on the card reader would be to try the driver W10 support page for your laptop if you have not already done so.

  • My ACER Aspire M5100 9-in-1 card reader does not work. Green light does not illuminate.

The 9-in-1 card reader no longer works.  The Green led lights when I insert an SD card.  I tried to restart.  Cannot find the driver for the card in the Device Manager.  Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks for all your help.  I solved the problem by turning off the computer, open the computer case and disconnect the cable card 9 in 1 black of the motherboard.  Then I restarted the computer and it re-installed device drivers (message Windows came).  For the first time, card reader devices actually appeared in Device Manager.  Then I turned off the computer, reconnect the cable black and rebooted.  Now everything works fine.

  • Windows 7 does not recognize the sd card

Well this morning I wanted to add a file to my SDCard which is used for my wii.  When I plugged in on the sd card, nothing happened.  No noise, no windows pop up, nothing.  So I went to my computer and one c, d and e drives where it.  Went to the Manager of peripherals and nothing there either.  This card is a scandisk 4 GB sdhc.  my laptop is old about 3 weeks, just like this sd card (bought both on a Black Friday special;).   I used this card a few days ago on this computer without any problem at all.  The computer does not have a sd slot, so I have to use a usb card reader.  I can't find a brand name on the player.  I was however able to get my old sd card wii to read on this computer with the sd card reader, so I know that the card reader works.  I also tried an old usb 2.0 all in a player and had the same results, my new 4 GB sdhc card will not load, but the old card 1 GB sd (it is not sdhc) had no problem.  This sdhc 4 GB card reads perfectly into the wii.  I pulled out my old laptop which has vista sp2 on it and used the card readers and had no problem loading the new 4 GB sd card.  So, by doing that, I think I have excluded the possibility of having a bad card sd and poor readers.  I have no other sd sdhc card, so I don't know that's what is causing the problem.  Like I said before less than a week, there, everything was fine, and the new computer was able to read the 4 GB card.  Were there an update of windows 7, which would have affected this in the last days?  My computer is set up to receive and install all the new windows updates.  I uninstalled all the usb on this computer drivers and reinstalled them.  I did the same thing with usb card reader drivers.  If anyone has any ideas on how to solve this problem, it would be great thanks.

I was unable to read an 8 GB SDHC, formatted and used for a camera Olympus E - PL1. The card would not be read either on my desktop with Windows 7 using an older SD USB card reader or a 1-year-old Thinkpad W500 with built in SD slot using XP. It was to «put the disc in drive x...» "and act like there is no card in there. After researching on the web, it seemed that it might be a hardware problem. After buying a new USB card reader whichspecifically says that it supports SDHC , the problem is solved on two computers. Apparently, the new SD HC versions seem to need some electronic more or something to decode the higher formats.

Bought card reader has an Interior "Pro all-in-one USB Card Reader/write" stock # 08308 to Fry for $7.99. Now, without any updated driver 8 GB SD card files are now visible on computers through the USB drive and works like any USB key.

There are many other brands in the store, but the point is to buy one that appoints SDHC as supported. This hinterland supports SD, SDHC, MMC, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, and so on.

  • Built in SD card reader does not work

I recently installed Windows 7, now the built in SD card reader does not work. Before, I was able to insert the card into the slot and would open a drive. No records for accommodation of readers appear on my computer.

You have installed the Windows 7 drivers for the card reader?

I go to the computer manufacturer web site and download the appropriate drivers.

  • Card reader memory O2Micro on Latitude with Windows 8.1

I have a Latitude E5520 and a Lattitude E5530, have both the O2Micro SD memory card reader.  The drive worked fine in Windows 8, but after I installed the 8.1 update, the SD card reader works not at all when you insert a memory card.  There is no beep, no hard drive available in Windows Explorer, and in the device, the O2 Manager is not listed in "Storage controllers", where it should be.

There are two versions of the driver that I found online on the Dell site, but neither one solves the problem.

I've found this workaround, but it's not a very good:

    • 8.1 Windows, press the Start button and type peripheral difficultyand click on find and fix problems with the devices in the list of results.
    • Click Next and let it check for problems.  He will come with the option to activate the device Intel 6 series/C200 Series Chipset Family PCI Express Root Port 6 - 1C1A or something similar
    • Click apply this hotfix
    • Once completed, close the troubleshooter and open up Windows Explorer and you should see the card reader
    • In Device Manager, you should see Controller O2Micro Integrated MMC/SD controller O2Micro integrated MS/MSPRO

Now here's the bad news – once you reboot, or even go to sleep and come back, the card reader has disappeared, and you must repeat these steps.

If anyone has a permanent solution, I would like to know what it is!

    -Dave

I had the same problem with my guitarfish E5430 and thank you for your thing!

But I finally found the right driver and now everything seems to work fine, here's what I did:

-Go to the Dell driver site

-Tick: All drivers for your product

    -Choose: MS Windows 8.1 64-bit

    -Come on in: storage controller

-Installation: O2Micro Smartcard (driver O2Micro OZ77CR6 smart card)
