Windows 7 upgrade program

I bought a HP HDX X18US Premium series 64 bit laptop that came with a Windows 7 upgrade offer. After I did all the obstacles (man what hassle) and received the upgrade disc, I try and try to install but I get the message that it cannot complete the installation because of the necessary upgrade filter driver of keyboard I did. And I was invited also to uninstall iTunes, which I did and uninstal Agatha Christic, Bejeweled 2 Deluxe, Chuzzle Deluxe, Slingo Deluxe Wedding Daze and Zuma Deluxe that are not even on my list of unistal of Control Panel

They are requested to uninstall because they are incompatible with Windows7. If you want these, you can reinstall the post upgrade. Please let me know it than what you want to install in Windows 7 off these uninstalled...

  • HP will support the "Windows 7 Upgrade Program?

For those not in the know, MS gives OEM (for example, HP) the ability to offer a free upgrade to Windows 7 for people who buy a Vista PC after July 1, 2009. I plan to do my next PC HP another and I would buy it sooner rather than later - but not if it means shelling out the extra cash for an iminent OS upgrade

Yes, but the start date of the program Express Upgrade (standard on the OEM) is not officially released yet.

  • Question about Windows 7 upgrade program

Hello, I ordered my Windows 7 for my laptop. Now there is a little problem that I have, I have on my hard drive the HDDRecovery, but not writing the DVD recovery software, what can I do in order to have the upgrade, is that it works only as an UPGRADE or works also as a clean install.

I changed the Vista I used with LINUX completely, I returned to Windows 7 RC and now if I ordered this Windows 7, I would like to know more about it.

Hmmmm... display short, but everything seems to be quite complicated.

-Computers new Toshiba laptops are delivered with the settings and saved the recovery image of HARD drive on the second partition.
-Toshiba recovery disc creator is available with factory settings only and cannot be downloaded.
-If you have changed your OS and installed your own version of the HARD drive recovery procedure will no longer work and your folder of HDRecovery with the data is useless.

In my opinion you did everything that can be done completely wrong.
After the first departure first step should be the creation of recovery disks. This disk can be used for the installation of the OS later if you want to have once again the factory settings.
Toshiba upgrade kit is designed to work with the preinstalled Toshiba recovery image, so I don't really know if you can install it on your own installation of Vista.
    Test it.

New install with upgrade disc? I can't confirm this. Can you please test it for us?
Your original recovery image is screwed up and useless anyway you can do all sorts of tests.

  • Windows 7 upgrade advisor, program compatibility HP Media

owner of an HP dv6-1245dx. Always running vista, upgrade to 7 soon.

I downloaded the windows Upgrade Advisor 7, I ran the program. 3 mistakes come in saying I have the version of the HP Media Smart DVD, HP MediaSmart Music/video/Photo, HP Media TV program

I click on him "click here to get a compatiable version," programs.

    1. I click on HP Media Smart DVD, it takes me to a page where it wants me to download a version for HP touchsmart... but I do not have an HP smart touch, I a dv6 (wrong product).

    2. I click on the HP MediaSmart Music/video/Photo, which brings me to random about the software with no upgrade or products page

    3. I click on th HP Media TV, I see that he wants me to download an older version of the program.

so I download, install, restart my computer, run the Upgrade Advisor, hoping to see that there are 2 errors, but NO, the HP mediaSmart TV said it must still be fixed... which I just did again!

Basically the first link go to a page of bad product, and the second link sent me to a random page that talks about program and it does not recognize that I just fixed one of the questions that he told me to fix.

Can you guys help out me?

What are the program version compatiability of HP Media Smart DVD, HP MediaSmart Music/video/Photo, HP Media TV, which will allow me to level to windows 7 safely?

    Hello

Windows 7 upgrade advisor is not so smart as you think. It showes sometimes bad results.

According to this document from HP to down:

    The upgrade to Windows 7

    Question:

Unable to uninstall HP MediaSmart DVD in Windows 7.

    Fix or workaround:

Uninstall MediaSmart DVD before the upgrade to Windows 7. After the upgrade to Windows 7, install the compatible version Windows 7 HP MediaSmart DVD the DVD Upgrade Wizard at level HP or www.hp.com/support .

Which means then you just uninstall HP MediaSmart DVD before upgrade.

When you're after update just install all of the latest software for MediaSmart and everything should be ok.

  • When I click on the Windows 7 Upgrade nothing happens and the program does not start.

This is on a Dell Vostro 1520.

I'm trying to reinstall an os upgrade Windows 7 32 bit.

I am currently using Vista 32 bit. I sell the dell so I formatted and reinstalled 32 bit Vista OS.

The computer was running on an operating system Windows 7 before the reinstall.

Now when I click on the Windows 7 upgrade it does not load.

When I try to open since the reboot it will not open either.

    What now?

    Hey, Slugger,

New installation leaves you a better overall installation,

    Installation custom own steps

You can use a Full Windows 7 or upgrade disk to do a custom clean install. This will remove all of your programs, but you can save your files and settings on an external storage before doing so. You will need to reinstall all your programs after installing Windows 7. Here are the steps:

    1. start Windows Upgrade Advisor to see if there are known problems that might affect installation and if you can install the 32-bit or the 64 bit version of Windows 7.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/downloads/Upgrade-Advisor

2 back up your files and settings. To avoid losing everything that you will need to save copies of all files, photos and other information that you want to keep an external storage device. Windows Easy Transfer is a free tool allows you to copy your files (but not programs) from your PC and then transfer them back after you have installed Windows 7. If you don't want to use Windows Easy Transfer, you can copy the files you want to keep on a USB stick or CD/DVD.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/Windows-easy-transfer

    3. find the discs original installation and license/product keys associated to programs currently on your computer because you will have to manually reinstall your programs after installing Windows 7. Depending on what you have installed, you may be able to download programs from the Internet.

    4. Insert the Windows 7 DVD in your PC. When asked "which type of installation you want. Click on "Custom (advanced)." Note: 32 to 64-bit requires restart and boot from the DVD.

    5. when Windows 7 is installed, you can use Windows Easy Transfer (or a different backup method you used) to restore your files & settings and use your installation disks to reinstall all your programs. Then you're done - take advantage of Windows 7.

Steps 2, 3and 4 are recommended for Dell not offering systems not Windows 7 installed at the factory. Microsoft Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to check that all of your software and computer components are ready for Windows 7. This application will scan your system and make recommendations on what to do before the upgrade to Windows 7.

I don't know about everyone else, but she answered a lot of questions, I was wondering about before jumping and spend money for Windows 8.

    Windows 8 Upgrade Wizard

After running it, I discovered on the programs that I have that are not compatible with Windows 8, which will cost me more money to put to level. After checking prices for updating my software, Windows 8 would be too expensive to upgrade for me?

Consider you the dual boot of Windows 8 OEM System Builder License with Windows 7 or run it in a virtual machine. It cost $99.

  • I don't know how or when I get a new phone with the upgrade program! Help!

I have the iPhone Upgrade Program. I signed up last year and I have a 6 s more. I want a 7 (I have later), but it wouldn't kill me if it does not work.

    This is my experience:

    0) I went to 2 stores in the last three days and called APPLE 1-800-MY - I wanted to make SURE I had all my ducks in a row - and EVERYONE told me that if I wanted to keep my (AT & T) unlimited data plan and get a new phone as quickly as possible, I should go online at midnight.

    (1) online at midnight. Update to hit her until the page appeared at 12:09.

    (2) I went through the certification process of my current iPhone with my series 4 and the last of IMEI.

    (3) selected model, ability and color

    (4) congratulations! You are eligible for an upgrade! Click here to get your phone! (WOOHOO!)

    (5) I got this page. http://i.imgur.com/6oc1Cgl.PNG

    (6) WHAT THE @# REAL! & *?

    (7) I tried the same on iPhone and iPad using Apple store, same result.

    (8) went to bed.

    (9) stood at 07:00 (Pacific) and tried again. Has gone through the same process...

    (10) this time I got THIS SCREEN (http://i.imgur.com/a9y3b5q.jpg). Am I able to order now? What has changed and why I don't have to wait for the 17th? 10A) I tried all stores in California, Nevada and Oregon. There are no. 7 anywhere more available on AT & T phones. Period.

    (11) seriously?

    (12) using the cat online rejects me on straight away - the chat window closes when I select I want to talk about ordering process. The button actually closes the chat window? No warning or message which chats are full/no cat hours/too busy? It closed just the window?

    (13) I called 1-800-MY-APPLE and he literally told me the importance, I am to Apple and then hangs up on me.

    (14) coffee.

I honestly don't know what else I could have done and how could I possibly be more thorough. I'm still without an upgrade, and there is no direct path to a phone now except the purchase of a pure and simple. But I have another year on my existing phone because I was stupid enough to give Apple upgrade program!

What are my options? I can't find documentation on this process anywhere!

  • Qosmio X 300 - 15U - key product for Windows 7 upgrade disc

    Hi all
    first post here :)

I have a Qosmio X 300 15U and just bought DVD update for the operating system: to Vista64 for Windows 7 (home premium).
I got it by Toshiba Windows 7 upgrade site.

I installed the upgrade and it works fine, so far.
Only possible problem for the future, is that I can't find product key label Windows 7 attached to the case of paper (probably lost) DVD
I have the DVD (for other series, almost...)

Anyone know if it is possible to make the Toshiba support, send my old Windows 7 key product or a new (only in the case of reinstall...)
It also appears that Microsoft has validated my install via their tool (WGA, I think)
I have to go back to using MS (paid), for such a (simple, for me) case?
    Hope not.

    Thank you very much.

    Bye,.

    Diego

I don't know if Toshiba can send you a new label productkey, you must call the assistance service. But to find your product, you need a key research tool.
Try [link: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/productkeysactivation/tp/topkeyfinder.htm] for a list of these programs.

    Hello cdrudd, welcome.

We start back up your data first, if you have a Windows Vista recovery or install CD/DVD, try this:

    1. connect an external drive or flash drive
    2. place the CD of Windows Vista in the status bar, and close
3 boot the disk and choose "repair my computer".
    4 choose "Command Prompt"
    5. type the following command:

    CD c:

    | Come in

    users of CD

    | Come in

    dir

    | Come in

From here, take note of what your user name folder name. Then type...

    copy c:\users\yourusername e:\users

    | Come in

    * ' e' will be the letter of your external device. It could be F, G, H or so now (according to which drive letter was already used)

Once the copy is complete, you can pretty much use the following commands to keep the rest of the data:

copy c:\program files e:\program files -copy everything in the folder program files

You can use the dir command to view the contents of a directory. Then, you can use the cd command to navigate to a directory.

Let us know if you have a copy of your user data backup job. Please let us know if you have any questions.

    Thank you!
