Windows 8.1 will not download

I did so that Windows 8 has been updated.  Then I went to http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/downloads and connected to my account.  I clicked to upgrade Windows 8 to 8.1 Windows and it took me to a green screen with the logo of Microsoft Store shopping bag.  Below that was a circle of points going around and around.  I tried this procedure several times and could not go beyond this screen, the last time I have let go for 40 minutes and still nothing happened.  Help me solve this problem.

  • Windows Media Center will not download updates to the Guide. Netflix and Internet TV options do not appear on the menu screen.

    I tried to configure Media Center for Internet TV and Netflix. I have Setup several times and attempted to manually download the updates. So far, neither option appeared on the menu screen and I repeatedly received an error message when you try to download updates to the guide that directs me to check the update log. Also, when I tried to contact support by email and has been asked to enter my product ID number to verify the activation, I was told it was not valid. I repeatedly entered it exactly as stated on the page of the system. I also activated the software certified on the same page of the system.

    Any help would be appreciated because I would really like to be able to use these features.

    Thank you.

    I had this same problem. That's what I did which appeared to fix (not sure if that fix or if it sets just itself). I ran the mcupdate.exe file located in the C:\windows\ehome\ directory (or some windows player is on). Yet once again, I'm not sure if this corrects the problem, or if it randomly determines.

  • Windows 7 x 64-bet on day of Windows 7 platform will not download

    Hello everyone, I had recently built a new PC and I installed Windows 7 Professional x 64 on it. It has been validated through the code that was inside the disk. I also have an Elagto HD60 capture card and when I downloaded the software, it says that I need an update for the Windows platform. The software I linked to a download link for the standalone installer. I ran and for the last hour, it gets stuck at "searching for updates on this computer... "and it starts to * me because I have important things to do with the acquisition card. If anyone is aware of any kind of correction, please let me know. If any other information is needed, please ask.

    Value "Never search updates" automatic updates, and then restart Windows. Then, run the update of the platform. To solve the problem "stuck" in general, install KB3161647. :)

  • Windows Update will not download, just stays at 0%

    Hi, past the month or so my windows update will not download at all. I never had no problems until now. Im running on windows 7 64. I'll start, click windows update and download hit. Once I have click on windows update, it just sits there with the bar running, showing me his 0%. Please if someone might know a solution, that would help a lot.

    Yes.  I had the same problem, I installed the update when my power went out, so I couldn't download it, but managed to get the update that I needed the microsoft Web page and we smooth sailing since then.

  • Windows Update will not download?

    When I try and download windows updates it remains at 0% and will not download. Also any secondary windows pop up I opened Virgin rest. These errors started exactly at the same time. I use windows 7 and Norton 360 (4.0)

    Norton 360 v4.x was not released until February 17, 2010. If you have purchased & installed Norton 360 in August 2009, it was Norton 360 v3.x, so you must have upgraded to v4.x because you upgraded to Win7 in October 2009.

    Applications, (Norton and McAfee) are notorious for not not upgrade (or uninstalling) itself. [No, Norton Support will not tell you this.] Norton 360 v3.x "leftovers" can be cause of your problem.

    [You want to print the following instructions for consultation offline. If a step said to reboot, reboot.]

    1. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

    2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

    3. After completing some you have a copy of your handy product key, uninstall all Norton software (includingLiveUpdate and everything Norton Add ons) via Control Panel | Programs | Uninstall a program (or Control Panel |) Programs and features, if you are using the classic view).

    4 IMPORTANT! -Online activate Windows Firewall immediately after the restart.

    NB: Now you're "working without a net": no to ANYTHING else online (e.g., navigation, reading e-mail, chat) until you have completed step #7 below!

    5. right click on the file that you saved in step #1 above, and then select run as administrator.  DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

    6. do a clean install of the latest version of Norton 360 (using your product ID, if necessary) & restart:http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20080514162318EN

    IMPORTANT! -Online do NOT activate or install additional modules of Norton (for example, Norton Anti-Phishing) immediately.

    7. manually and repeatedly run LiveUpdate (Norton) until you get a prompt "no update more".

    8. If you have had problems with Internet Explorer 8, perform a reset now: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Reset-Internet-Explorer-settings

    8 b. Open IE8 (only) (only) to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058 & run the difficulty by DEFAULT inside and then AGGRESSIVE modes (again). [1]

    9. restart & test.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    [1] full Disclosure: the difficulty operating in AGGRESSIVE mode will remove your update history but not the list of installed updates.
  • Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1 (64-bit) will not download completely stuck at 95%
    I tried to install Service Pack 1 of Windows today on my laptop.  On one of my laptops with Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit operating system Windows Update downloaded (with 4 other updates) in about an hour and installed successfully during the shut down and restart.
    However on my laptop main used with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit Service Pack 1 stops downloading (although he says he always download or seems to be) to 95%.  The first time that I tried to download with 3 other updates to Windows, and it stuck.  I finally stopped after about 7 hours with it stuck at 95%.  Isolated, the other downloads and downloaded and installed after the reboot and did it in less than 15 minutes.  Then began to try to download only the Service Pack 1.  It has now been underway for six hours and is still stuck on download of 95%.
    Another forum on the web had a message that the Service Pack 1 with Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit will not download if you have installed language packs.  (Those who took me about 3-4 days to install and download due to make them one at a time because as a group they would get hung up.)  So I hope that I did not remove the language packs to get this Service Pack 1 installed on this machine.  I hope that Microsoft would have tested on a computer in Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit with language packs installed but maybe not...
    I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I GAVE TO MY VISTA NOW, I HAVE JUST AS MUCH TROUBLE I DID BEFORE.  ABSOLUTELY, NO DOWNLOAD FROM ANYWHERE.  I WOULD BE HAPPY TO RETURN TO XP.  DEE
    I feel for you Dolores it was extremely painful and tedious experience.  The final fix for my computer was going back to the origin by default with Windows Vista Home Premium on my computer.  Then load the software Windows 7 Ultimate.  Then the installation of updates about 100 + Windows which took place including Windows 7 SP 1.  All this has been done before loading another software (except Firefox and Chrome) on my computer.  I did it too before my security software loading, which – incidentally, roughly double the speed of downloads and other features of the computer.  Then after all the updates for Windows 7 has been done, I loaded with Microsoft Office Applications and its many updates.  After that I loaded my security software and checked for viruses.  Then rebuilt all the other features, software customization, etc. of this computer.  Literally, it took over a month to return to the same functionality that it had before the Windows 7 SP1 crashed the computer.  All I can say is thank God that I am religious about backing up files and folders, so I think I got about 95% of my files, folders, etc.
    Since the reconstruction, I didn't "major" problems with Windows 7, but I cringe when I update Windows 7 via their process of updating every Tuesday.  I also try to update not updates at the same time or too large sizes in the updates, even if it takes more time to do it this way.  I also reboot after each update whether necessary or not.  I run two registry cleaners different at least once a week, or even more often as since the failure of catostrophic SP 1 of the operating system.
    I will say this though, a lot of programs/software, I had that wouldn't work with Vista, all of a sudden work again with Windows 7.
    Good luck!
  • Windows 7 Media Center will not download the new guide listings
    Hello
    I am really frustrated. WMC will not download the new guide listings and I tried all the patches that are supposed to be that I found in this forum. I also tried the system restore, which did not fix the problem. Obviously the problem is not affected by the restore program.
    I was able to determine that there is some kind of corruption of the WMC files that Windows 7 can not solve (according to the event log).
    I'm a bit exasperated at the tenacity of this problem. Y at - it a reliable fix or I need to reinstall Windows 7?
    Thank you
  • Updates Windows will not download.
    I'm loading to the top of page update on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64 x system and it shows that I have updated security to install windows. I had about 11, but some of them downloaded and installed correctly as Security Essentials definitions etc, however; the security updates are not download. It showed 0% about 3 days now.
    Is this a problem with the microsoft Server? I tried to download them directly from the site, but I had the same problem there. They will not download and install. I don't know how this has become a problem so I can't give the last update, I installed before that happens, but I can say that it's happened with other updates. Only once.
    Does anyone else have this problem?
    Updates, I am trying to download are:
    Security Update for Windows 7 x 64 systems
    (KB981332)
    (KB980232)
    (KB979683)
    (KB979309)
    (KB978601)
    Help for these updates would be very welcomed here.
    Regards and thanks in advance.
    Tiff777,
    Try the following and make note of the results of each.
    Disk error checking
    System File Checker
    The system update tool
    After running these tools, and then run Windows update and post back with the results of tools and the results of execution of updates.
