Windows 8 Mail stores multiple copies of attachments / images

I have more than 5 GB of redundant images which I believe are due to the Mail App - they are stored in several files under Appdata\local\Packages\Microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps_8wekyb3ddwe\LocalState\LiveComm\...\Att

In one case at least, I have 319 copies of the same image.  I don't know what is happening or how to get rid of them, but my drive fills up quickly.

Thought to the multiple copy could be due to Microsoft Essentials but uninstalled and get even more copies.  Cannot change/remove the msn since the application mail e-mail account because it is the main account that I have to connect you to the help.

Thank you

You can if you wish.  Just set your desktop programs (Outlook, Media Player, notebook, Photo Viewer) to be the default manager. You can even use a start 'XP style' menu without additional work like that if you want to:

  • Windows 8 Mail App does not display inline images

    Hello

I use Windows 8 Pro and the mail app does not correctly display the inline images. It shows small icons at the top of the email on which you can click to download the images, but the real images have only a name in a big box where it would have been the image. I can do to implement?

    Hello Art,

My understanding is that the problem is a problem on the side of Gmail and is linked to the way that Gmail sends his images online when you use the EAS Protocol.

  • Need help: moving from Outlook 2000 to Windows Live Mail

I would like to ask my question/problem to be seen by someone who is an expert in your e-mail programs (Outlook, Windows Live Mail, etc.). Thank you!

    Here's the scenario:

    (1) we have a PC of office 9 years old who is replaced.  The operating system is Windows XP Home Edition - SP 2.  This PC runs a Microsoft Office 2000 Professional for ever... including Outlook 2000, which we use for our home e-mail accounts.

    2) there are 2 users on this PC (myself & my wife).  Outlook 2000 is configured in a way that allows both of us to share these same accounts. Regardless of whether I am connected to the computer or that it is recorded, when launch us Outlook, we are all two accesses to the same ".pst" file with the same Messages, the same Contacts & calendar.  (There are currently 2 set POP3 e-mail accounts in place of our provider (Verizon) that both feed into the same Inbox reception & records).

    (3) the old PC is replaced by a new system of office under Windows 7 Home Premium.  The new system came preloaded with Microsoft Office 2007 - Home & Student edition - comprising STEPS of Outlook.

    (4) outlook is a great program, but also because it's like a desktop messaging system, it's really more that most need people for the welcome e-mail.  We therefore decided to try Windows Live Mail on our new computer.

    (5) I've copied the ".pst file ' of our old PC to the new & attempted to import the messages into Live Mail.  Live Mail did not provide an option to import this format - only Outlook Express 6, Windows Mail & Windows Live Mail itself seem to be supported.

    (6) I read a message board entry online (can't remember where) that said that Outlook 2000 is not in a format that is compatible with Live Mail.  So, on our old computer XP, I opened OUTLOOK EXPRESS & imported all messages, contacts and calendar entries in Outlook 2000 ".pst" file.  The problem is: I don't know what to do next!  Everything is imported in Outlook Express on the old PC, but I don't know the name of the file they are or what I should do to get the Live Mail on the new PC to see.  The Dell tech support technicians were absolutely no help at all, I have turned to you all!

    Here are my questions:

Can I configure Windows Live Mail to work in the same way that Outlook 2000 - shared between 2 users?  Our provider allow multiple e-mail addresses.  They all do not have to feed in boxes receive same account, but for myself & my wife, I would like to be able to see the Archives of message even when we are connected.

In addition, my wife got a new Windows 7 laptop.  Would it not possible to 'network' of the ".pst" file in a shared folder so that each computer can see it in Live Mail?  (It would be a "friendlier", but it isn't a necessity by all means).  Or Live Mail not use same ".pst"?

Or do we forget Live Mail completely & buy Outlook 2007?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

    Dexter

You do all the right things!  To find the folder that contains the Outlook Express files on the old XP computer, click Tools > Options > maintenance > store folder .  Copy this folder on the Windows 7 computer.  Then import Microsoft Outlook Express 6 on Windows Live Mail through this folder.

Windows Live Mail supports multiple e-mail accounts.  Each has its own set of folders (Inbox, sent, deleted items, etc.).

Only Outlook uses ".pst" files  I don't know of any way to share a file between two computers ".pst".  You can set up e-mail on computers programs to read the same incoming messages.

  • Windows Live Mail sends several emails to the recipient and gets stuck in the Outbox

My windows live mail sends multiple messages for one of my email accounts (and only one). It seems stuck in the Outbox and not appear in my sent items folder, but the buyer complains to receive up to 25 times. I uninstalled norton antivirus completely because I've heard of a similar problem with outlook, but have seen no improvement. Please help, it's making me look very unprofessional. I tried same emailing with my current antivirus disabled, but have not seen any improvement.

  • In Windows Live Mail if you open an attachment, then hit 'save' where will the file?

I have Windows 7, I use windows live mail. Sometimes I get the attachments, Word, Excel, ect. If I opened the mail document and press 'Save' I can't find out where it records. It does not save in any file temp that I see.

    Help, please.

The file will be located in a folder somewhere in
    C:\Users\ (YourAccount) \AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet
    Files\

    "\AppData" is normally hidden
"\Temporary Internet Files" is normally only hidden protected by operating system
    file

You need to remove the check mark (if they are hidden) in Windows Explorer:
Organize - See the file & search - Options

    Good luck to find, however.

The right way is to save the first attachment and open it
the location of recording, if you want to change.

  • Windows Live mail problem when sending an email with picture multiple attachments (.jpg)

Last week, I sent an email with attachments of two photo. This was not enough and I got 5 separate messages, advising me of non-delivery, but also the original message had not been saved in my "sent" folder

Today, I sent two e-mails with multiple attachments photos and the recipient received the first email 46 times but with only the subject line, no message and no attachments. He received the second e-mail 26 times again with only the subject line (this one not included in my folder "sent" Although previous email did).

The recipient today is different from the one I sent last week.

All other messages recently, including those with no photographic attachments seem to have been given normally and are displayed in my "sent" folder Some recipients responded to these so I know they arrived OK.

Any ideas on what is causing the problem and how to solve this problem?

Right click on the name of the account above the Inbox. Properties | Advanced and uncheck 'Break apart messages... ". ». That will solve the multiple copies with no photo.

  • When I tried to save copies of some e-mails on a disc, multiple copies of each email appeared on my desk

original title: dozens and dozens of copies on my desk!

When I tried to save copies of some e-mails on a disc, multiple copies of each email appeared on my desktop running Windows XP.  When I try to delete them, more appear.  Similarly when I drag and drop into the trash.  In addition, there are more icons that I can see on the edge of the screen that I can't even.  All these icons are concealing my common icons on the desktop.  What is happening and how to fix this?

You reply to the message of the month:

What you were doing was to occupy the office with the files.  Right-click on the Start button and select Explorer.  Then in Explorer navigate to the office on the left in the list of folders.  Then to the right, go to view | Details and you should see then the entire list of files on the desktop and you can prune from there.

  • Windows Mail (Windows 7) blind sending send copies

In Windows Mail (Windows 7), how can I send a copy of an email to anyone? How can I email blind copies of e-mails to members of a contact group?

You use Windows Live Mail in Win7 or you hack into Windows Mail (Vista) in there?

This is for Outlook Express cutter works with all three e-mail clients although some terms may differ. (e.g. vs. Address Book Contacts list).

To use the functionality of the BCC (Blind Carbon Copy), in a new message window, click View | All headers and type the addresses separated by a; Or: Click the button to. You will see your list of contacts and the choice to put them in the To, CC, or BCC field. Click on an address, and then click BCC to add it. Repeat for all of the contacts you want. (Note: most of the providers have limits as to how many messages you can send both a. 25 is common, but it varies).

Put your own address in the box to. That's the only name/address that any recipient will see. If you leave the field empty, some people may not receive e-mail because of message rules they put in place, or restrictions imposed by their ISP.

You can also make an entry in the address book using your e-mail address, but put something like the mailing list in the area of the display.

    *********************

You can also create groups if you send e-mail to the same people often.

To create a group of contacts:

You can create a single group name (or alias) to use when sending a message to several contacts at the same time. Just create a group name and add individual contacts to the group. Then just type the name of the group in the box for when you send mail.

    1. in the address book, select the folder in which you want to create a group. Click New in the toolbar, and then click New Group.
    2. the Properties dialog box opens. In the group name box, type the name of the group.
    3. There are several ways to add people to the Group:
    a. to add a person from your address book list, click Select members, and then click a name in the address book list.
    (b) to add a person directly to the group without adding the name to your address book, type the person's name and e-mail address at the bottom of the Properties dialog box and then click Add.
to add a person to both the Group and your address book, click New Contact and enter the appropriate information.
    (d) to use a directory service, click Select members, and then click search. Select a directory service in the drop-down list at the end of the text box. After finding and selecting an address, it is automatically added to your address book.
    4. Repeat for each addition until your group is defined.

    Note

    a. to view a list of your groups separately from the list of address book in the address book on the view menu, make sure that folders and groups is selected.

    b. you can create multiple groups, and contacts can belong to several groups.

If you want to send to a group without addresses are displayed for each recipient, open the address book and make a new entry. Enter the name of the group in the area of the display, but use your address. (Some Internet service providers require a legitimate address in the line to and recipients will know it's from the Group).

Click on the button to. Enter the name of the group using your address. Enter the group in the BCC field.

  • Thunderbird will download multiple copies of email with large attachments; about half a Meg or more.

Have uninstalled and re installed TB; still had the problem so deleted files popstate.dat; three old and I guess that the other two were for both accounts I have. Sometimes I go to the server/webmail and delete the large email to stop repeated downloads.
    Bill

I tried a different e-mail program, and it did not download multiple copies. Tried to uninstall TB new and removed the front profile of re install and still had the same problem. One of the large files sent to my friend that I had installed TB on his computer for him and he doesn't have the problem. So I changed my email from POP3 to IMAP and now it seems that the multiple download problem disappeared. I would like to know well why I had a problem and my friend (and others) do not have.

  • Multiple copies of the same mail and "unresponsive".

I have fought with Thunderbird for about a week now and have had no chance to solve my problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I tried all the suggestions on the FAQ page.

    Here are my symptoms:
-Make multiple copies of the same email with the same time stamp.
    -Not pulling new e-mail messages.
-Whenever I try to navigate upwards or downwards in the Inbox or open an email TB will does not.
-J' got warnings from the following script:
    Script: resource://gre/modules/XPCOMUtils.jsm:323
    Script: chrome://messenger/content/mailWindow.js:179

    Here is what I tried:
-J' completely removed and reinstalled TB (and recovered my profile).
    -J' have compressed files.
    -J' rebuilt the database world.
-From TB in safe mode does not seem to make a big difference.

Fortunately, I have access to webmail via my ISP and it works fine.

    Thank you!

McAfee has released a faulty update, please contact them for support on changing the setting to something that actually works.

I saw a poster here today who used their support chat and they 'fixed a few adjustment' and now all is good.

This is an iMac with Yosemite 10.10.5.

Looks like you may have to re-create your mailbox. You must do this for each box mailbox that has the problem (Inbox, sent, etc...).

Note that the mailbox will be empty until the rebuild is complete and the reconstruction may take some time if you have a lot of emails and attachments.
