Windows 8 Photos will not display all images on my second hard drive.

I don't want to fill my C drive with photos so I keep it on the hard drive of H.  I right click on the file that contains my photos and it is included in my photos...  If I open Explorer and click on my library of images from the file I chose shows up as MY PICTURES H:\ so I know that it's included.  But when I open the Photo app none of the files or images appear.  Is it possible that I can get these photos will display short moving them all to the C: drive?

Thank you, Rob

Thanks for all the suggestions.  I was finally able to get my photos appears.  For anyone who has the same problem, I went into the folder containing my photos. Properties open, selected the Security tab system was added to the Group of user names and allows full control.
Works fine now.

  • Windows 7 photo viewer will not display all images, except in slide show mode.

I use a laptop computer with a monitor connected via a dock of the USC.  Everything worked fine until today.  When I use the monitor as the only display, windows 7 Photo Viewer does all the images except in slide show mode.   To be more precisely, after clicking on the file, Photo Viewer displays "loading".  If you wait long enough, the image appears later, but if you move or the zoom, the image window disappears.  If you go to the slide, the image appears immediately.  However, if I use my laptop screen, or both screens in extended desktop, Photo Viewer works very well.  Basically, as long as the screen of the laptop is off, photo viewer gets confussed and cannot function properly in slide show mode.

  • Windows Media Player won't find the files on the second hard drive

Hi hope you can help with this.

I have Windows 7 and Windows Media Player 12 on my PC.

My office has two hard drives, one for the operating system and all programs and another larger (drive J:\) for all my files.

All my audio files are stored in the J:\Audio folder, and this folder is also the default location for my music library (such as configured in Windows and WMP).

When I load WMP files in J:\Audio are not displayed in the music library.

If I right click on music > manage a music library and then manually delete the J:\ from the list of library locations, and then re-add it, WMP adds all the files to the library (a process that takes about 20 minutes).

BUT if I close WMP and re - open again, these files are missing once again.

It seems that WMP has a blind spot of my second hard drive.

Any suggestions for what I can do to remedy this?

    Thank you very much!

    Neil.

Well, I think I found a solution for me at least.

There is an answer on this thread who has contributed to:

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-pictures/songs-do-not-appear-in-the-Windows-Media-Player/a6e80b2e-7367-4529-9dab-5a38ba4167a5?page=5

This is the fifth detention by djkel.

    This is a summary:

To resolve this problem, delete the Windows Media Player database. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. exit Windows Media Player.
    2. click on start, run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player, and then click OK.
    3. Select all the files in the folder and then click on Delete on the file menu.
Note you don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.
    4. restart Windows Media Player.

One of the files that I had to delete not able to be removed first because "Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service" was used. I was able to follow the steps on this page to temporarily stop the service and allow the file to be deleted:

    http://www.mydigitallife.info/how-to-disable-Windows-7-Media-Player-network-sharing-service-wmpnetwk/

Then when I have opened WMP 12 database has been repopulated with my files... and all files remain when the 12 WPM has been closed and then reopened. I hope it's a permanent fix.

Not sure if this will help your problem, Jeff, but I hope that.

    Neil.

  • Windows 7 - HP Pavilion HPE h8 - 1360t I added a second hard drive

I installed a seagate (seagate 2 TB Barracuda SATA) second drive on my desktop computer.  When I got to the top I could go to the control panel and not see under the heading records.  Seagate said to go to the BIOS and choose 'Auto Connect your new drive', but there is no other choice to Auto Connect.  If anyone can tell me who is the right choice on the BIOS screen to find and identify my new second hard drive?

    Hello

In the disk management window, right-click on your new HARD drive and select Format to start the wizard.  Windows 7 will affect a Volume label so if your happy with it, just leave the default.  File system is NTFS.  Allocation unit size must be left by default.  Select the option to perform a quick format if it is not already done.  Leave all the other default settings, and then click Ok, and then Ok to start the process.

Once this done, your new HARD disk should now appear when you look under the computer.

    Kind regards

  • I can not display all images downloaded from the internet on Windows 7

OK, so I just Windows 7.  I am trying to save documents that my teachers put up online in the form of a pdf file.  However when I try to open them I recorded them in Picasa it appears as a black box, saying "invalid Image".  In the Photo Viewer Windows it says "Could not be opened because the file format is not supported or you do not have the latest updates for the Windows Photo Viewer."  But I installed the latest version, as well as the latest Picasa.

Also, I'm fully able to open other images (the ones I imported out of my phone etc.)

    What is the problem?

    Thanks in advance!

  • DMA2200 will not display jpg images

I connected my DMA2200 for my Vista Ultimate PC. It can browse the music files and photos and listen to music. It can navigate to the pictures folder and see etc. subfolders and nested subfolders.

It may display one of the few BMP pictures I have in a subfolder, but WILL NOT even find even less, and show JPG files ANY files - display 0 files in each folder with jpg files (and there are MANY of them).

I hunted with Google and tried various patches of registry to reset the JPG file associations in Vista, nothing helps.

It is not a fault in the Extender itself, as I CAN see the jpgs on another Vista machine.

What registry entries or other patches could do this job?

I disconnected remove the Extender and reconnected a half-dozen times.

Any suggestions welcomed, short of reinstalling Vista - I would have more than 140 programs to reinstall as well moving 25000 + files, music and photos the machine turned off and vice versa, and I don't REALLY have to do it!

Thanks if anyone can help with this. I am apparently not the only one, but haven't found any messages suggesting a fix.

It seems that any order of the entries in the registry. After making a backup of the registry (using a system restore point) I had to:

1 remove the.jpg registry key and the subkeys using Regedit

    2. edit the file jpeg.reg to replace each name key inside jpeg jpg

3 Rename the file jpeg.reg in jpg.reg as well (I think that this step, with the benefit of hindsight, will may not be not necessary, but it is useful to keep track of file who's who).

    4. double click it, the merge again into the Registry.

    5 restart the Extender.

After all THAT and a certain time for the Extender allows to browse records once again, he began to see AND view jpg files in all folders of photos and sufolders.

  • Windows 8 photos are not displayed as thumbnail preview what I can do?

I searched google and tried most of two simple ways to fix it.

First I went to edit forlder and search options > view, then the first box was already unchecked, so no change there.

Then I made on computer properties > advanced system settings > performance > settings but also the box say: show the photos instead of icons has been already verified.

What can I do else? I have pictures on the hard drive of my copied pc of smartphone Jpg files, but is not visible from the preview thumbnails.

Open the folder where you have the number and then follow these steps:

    1. click on view in the menu bar.
    2. in the options in the Ribbon of the view, click Options.
    3. in the Folder Options box, go to the view tab.
    4. on the tab selected, under the list of advanced settings, uncheck the box always show icons, never thumbnails to activate thumbnails preview.

If this is not enough, you need to show hidden files in this folder, and then delete the Thumbnails.db file (if you have one in this case). Here's how:

    1. open the folder you have the problem with.
    2. click on view in the menu bar.
    3. in the options in the Ribbon of the view, click Options.
    4. in the Folder Options box, go to the view tab.
    5. click on the option that says: Show hidden files folders or drives and uncheck the option that says: Hide protected operating system files.
    6. click on apply and OK.

Now you see a file named miniature or Thumbnail.db in this folder? If you see one, delete it and restart the computer. Which solves the problem?

Note: Remember to make hidden files appear is not in the computer once you have gone through the troubleshooting. You will need to check the options that you have unchecked in the second series of steps I provided.
