Windows 8 recovery disks

Pavilion p6-2310 Desktop - product #H3Y76AA

Hello, is it possible to purchase recovery discs Windows 8?  I was very disappointed that my brand new computer did not come with one.  It is only 1 week old and since I am already anticipate the problems with it I would like to have a recovery disk.

I understand that it comes with some sort of disk image, but what happens if you have problems that won't let you access it?

While I am, maybe someone can tell me exactly how this disk image is supposed to work.

Thank you!

OK, thank you all very much!

I think that between all the options that I have now, I should be able to pull this off.

I appreciate all the entries!

I just created my windows password recovery disk in a usb flash drive. A file was generated "userkey.psw". What happens if I save the file somewhere safe and remove the file in the flash player. Later, it will work if I have forgotten my windows password?

    Help, please...

Yes, you can do what you want.  The important thing to remember is that you must place the userkey.psw back in the folder root of any external hard drive in order to to use.  You can move back in position using another computer if necessary.  Where keep you so far is entirely to you.

Consider writing the password in a safe place instead.  A disc of rest password does not reach anything other than writing that can get the password down.

    Hello!

I want to know if it is possible to upgrade my Tecra M9 about RAM - memory? I think that I now have 2 GB.
I also need to know if Toshiba sells a recovery disk to my computer with Windows 7, or do I have to buy a Windows 7 disc and serch for drivers on my own if I want to have the new operating system?
My language on the portable computer setting is Swedish.

    Cordially Mikael

    Hello!

I also put t know how much RAM have been mounted, but I checked the Tecra M9 user manual and it can be upgraded to 4 GB of RAM. This means that you need two modules with specification of SO-DIMM DDR2 200pin for upgrade. In the user manual, you can find some information about it.

On the issue of Windows 7, I think that Toshiba will not release a Windows 7 recovery disc because this model isn't Windows 7 supported:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/KBA9A02PX0000R01.htm

You can install Windows 7 from a Microsoft disc but you will have to collect the drivers on different websites or other, you use the Vista drivers.

If so, then it means that your hardware (optical disc ODD) should be ok and the problem is associated with disc.

Is it possible to buy DVDs that will work with the OEM installation (in Danish) license, or I can get a toshiba restore disk or?

    Please help me out here.

    Hey,.

Normally, you need to create this recovery disc yourself using pre-installed recovery disc creator, but I think that now it s too late because Windows doesn't start anymore.

But you can order the CD here:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

If you can t order it, ask an authorized service provider. Alternative use a normal disc of Microsoft and the drivers of Toshiba page.

  • Satellite A505-S69803 - buy a Windows 7 recovery disk?

    Hello

I think about the purchase of a Toshiba Satellite A505-S69803 and I was wondering if it is possible to buy the Toshiba Recovery discs and if so how?

    Hello

    Why are you asking this?
If you buy a laptop you can create a Toshiba Recovery disk. Therefore, you will need to use the Toshiba recovery disc creator, which is preinstalled on your laptop. It creates a disk with a picture to factory settings (version of the OS preinstalled).

If your laptop comes with Windows 7, you can create such a floppy.

  • Windows 8 - recovery disks do not work with the new hard drive

My HDD had major errors of io only 1 month laptop warranty. I can't clone the original disc, its dead. I'm relatively new to Win8 but I bought the factory HP recovery disks for my model and have tried repeatedly to restore the OS win8 without success even after support technical advice ofHP and several friends with more experience than me (and I got an A + cert for more than a decade)-I have no idea why he keeps fails. I ordered another set of discs and tried another new hard drive. The log shows all the hardware in the way and a sysprep not found error at the end. What Miss me?

Problem solved! After another half-dozen recovery more attempts and lose more money on a new HP certified hard drive with the correct part number, I decided to give up Windows 8 and turn this laptop in a Hackintosh, I now on Mac OS X!  Microsoft has gone too far now, only not with the security of windows, instead of trying to make sure they get every penny they can from each PC running windows. His self defeat really. Those who cannot or do not want to pay the cost will simply find an alternative. I'm just tired of the headaches and of constantly having to spend my precious time proving that I have a valid OS license for every computer that I've updated or repair. Forcing people to buy the same item several times is aggravating and false. Sorry, just fan frustration.

  • How to backup Windows 8 recovery disks/card reader?

    Hello

I discovered the forums here that Windows 8 does not come with the COA sticker and has no option to create the installation DVD, you can use this tutorial provided by HP, to create a recovery DVD or a USB Flash drive.

My question is, since I can only use this method once, can I somehow save these DVD/USB Flash Drive, perhaps to burn to another DVD, copy them to another drive usb flash or maybe save to the cloud?

In addition, the tutorial shows you 'use another method' create recovery DVD/USB Flash Drive, in which case you can't, so what are the other methods?

    Thank you!

    Hello

You can use one of the following methods depending on the recovery media, you have created.

    1. the recovery of the disks.

Download and install the free software ImgBurn.

1 a. create a disk Image of each recovery disk on your PC - a guide for doing this is here.

1 b. You can store these Image files on an external HARD disk or write to blank discs (or both) - a written guide of blank discs ISO files is here.

    2 recovery Flash Drive.

If you want to clone a recovery USB Flash drive, there's quite a few tools around which will be repeated - is an example of a free application on the following link.

    http://www.OSForensics.com/tools/write-USB-images.html

As to what the expression "Use another method" is referring to, I can only assume it means create a picture disc - for Windows 8, see the guide on the following link.

My question is where can I buy Lenovo said recovery disks?

You might want to try to call Lenovo Service to see if they can provide/sell you a set of WinVista.

If they can, you can install it and then use a upgrade disk to upgrade to Win7 or Pro 8 and be in the license compliance.

  • HP Pavilion 15-p264na: upgrade of Windows 10 - recovery disk

I just bought this laptop with win 8.1 on. I want to upgrade to windows 10 and produce a recovery disk using the installation of HP, which cannot be done at once. The question is what to do first. I'm afraid that if I do first the disc, then I assume will only recover Windows 8.1, which means another upgrade to win 10, which then can no longer be available as a free update. If I do the first update, should I still the ability to produce a recovery disk? and if he will he recover to win 10?

    Hello:

You must make the recovery W8.1 media now before moving on to W10.

It will only take up to W8.1, and no matter what you do, it will only retrieve W8.1 by using the HP tool to make the drive.

Upgrading to W10 has no effect on the change of the W8.1 recovery partition.  Only, it installs W10 on the C:\ drive and makes no other changes.

Here's how I see the second part of your concern (what concerns me too).

Like you said after next July, W10 is not free, what happens if you need to restore W10 or you get a new hard drive and you have to install everything.

First of all, after you upgrade to W10, in the tool settings > activation, you can check that W10 is enabled.

I'd say you need to reinstall W8.1 and then upgrade to W10 and when you go to turn it on going because he already know that W10 has been installed on the PC before.  Microsoft maintains a database of activation which should allow the PC to have W10 still for free.

You can make a W10 installation/repair ISO disk usb flash drive, or from the link below.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/Windows10

Another thing I did was to create a system image of the installation of the W10 and recorded on a portable hard drive.

I did use the tool to create system image (windows 7) in the W10 system control panel option.

My plan would be to try first before anything else.  You can use the installation/repair W10 disc that you create to access the system image that you create, and I hope that will save a lot of time and effort.

You can update the image of the system as many times as you want, and it will overwrite the existing image on the laptop hard drive.

But until next July comes and goes, we can only speculate what will be the result of having to reinstall the W10.

  • have a dell dimension Dell said to get a windows xp recovery disk. Done, but can't get it to load

I have a Dell Dimension 2400 became a blue screen with error codes. Contacted Dell, they said having to reinstall Windows xp.

I got the Windows xp restore disk but cannot enforce.

put you the disc in the drive of you and the computer restarted? Who should start the restore, your computer should boot from the disk and provide you with recovery options. You can refer to the link below for more information on how to reinstall Windows XP.

  • Why the windows xp recovery disk hangs 90%

Setup formats to 90% and no longer is located at 90%, sometimes it says cannot read disk I just there in the mail from microsoft?

    Hi JeffPoe,

    1. Is that what you received the computer manufacturer's recovery disks?
    2. What exactly is the error message you receive?
    3. How did you start the installation? You install Windows XP on the new hard drive or a hard drive empty?

Microsoft does not manufacturer or provide recovery disks.

Recovery discs are supplied by the manufacturer of the computer.

I suggest that you check if there is no scratches on the Windows XP installation disk, you can also clean the surface of the disc with a clean dry and check if it continues the installation.

  • Get my data sorted after recovering the pc after reinstalling windows xp recovery disk

    Hello

I have an advent 3217 running xp sp3 and after the most recent windows update failed I put on by accident and was then trapped in a reboot loop who gave me an error code of c000021a. I tried pressing F8 and try all the options, but nothing worked. So I used my advent recovery disk that came with my pc to perform a RECOVERY of SYSTEM NON-FORMAT that got my pc to the top and run it again, but completely back to basics. I now have a folder in my hard drive called (MY OLD DISK STRUCTURE) which has all the data from my old and while she.

Is it possible to simply transfer everything back to the new folder of Windows, restart and have everything back to normal or not?

    Need help... anyone?

    Thank you

    Unliklely that might work.

Find your stuff (under "Online and Settings\" and copy that you go back to your new configuration.)

Although it is nice they have presented you a non-destructive system restore ("Advent" I guess...)  A repair facility with a real Windows XP installation CD would probably have been less destructive/disruptive.  :-(
