Windows 8 upgrade - registration cancelled

I'm in the United Kingdom. I bought a new PC with Win7 home premium 29/11/12. Enabled online without problem.

Applied for the 8 upgrade, but this was rejected ("cancelled") no reason 2/12.
I have followed up with an email to Customer Support from Microsoft Store, which have asked for a photo of the label the product key, System Properties screenshot & Bill of sale.

I sent it in 3/12 and received an email "we will have to escalate this matter to our superiors and once we get a response from them we will get back to you with the results of your query. No reason.
Sent a request for information 5/12 update - no response.
Sent & phone 10/12 and said should be 7 to 14 days for their "senior" go back to them. Still no reason given as to why I was rejected.
Am I alone in this? What is a good way to promote the 8?
Unfortunately, given the information you provided during the registration process you are not eligible for the upgrade offer.
The offer is available to customers (e.g., individuals, students and amateurs) who buy a full PC

Looks like you have a custom-made computer which is not eligible. If you bought your computer from a system builder that is not on the list, then you are not eligible for this offer.

you are, however, eligible for the $39.99 offer.

    Hello!

To be honest it's a little hard to understand your question.

What exactly is your problem? I think you want to register on the site to upgrade to Windows 7.
I n t have experience with this because I didn t buy such a phone compatible update yet, but I think that you need the serial number and the model number of the laptop. The two pieces of information you can find on the underside of the laptop.

Don t forget that this upgrade option is available for laptop purchased from June 26, 2009 to January 31, 2010.

  • Windows 7 upgrade from Vista Home Premium fails continuously at the end

I tried to spend 3 times.  I ran the Windows 7 Upgrade advisor, and he said that I can directly switch to the 32-bit version of W7.  I currently have 2 SP installed in Vista Home Premium.

When I run the upgrade, it goes through all the steps successfully. While in the part near the end of the process data conversion (about 5 hours) the system restarts in W7 and then I got an error message stating that the version is not compatible and it cancels automatically to Vista Home Premium.

  • Can I sell my copy of Windows 7 (upgrade)?

My computer came with Vista, so I bought an upgrade to Windows 7. This is a copy of purchased retail Newegg. But my computer is completely dead, is there a way I can return or cancel my license so I can sell my copy of the upgrade on Ebay or elsewhere?

My new computer is already comes with Windows 7 install, so I don't really need the disks to upgrade.

    How can I do? How?

Edit: For the record, I can't access the old computer, it is quite dead.

The thing is that I am using the new version for about a year (it has been validated), but my computer is dead and it's not as if I can return the license or delete from my hard drive. I want to know that if I sell it, the buyer will be able to post because I'm not on the upgrade and I have no use for him.

In fact a retail upgrade license can be transferred to another computer so so it can be sold and activated on another computer, as long as there is a qualification of operating system already installed and activated legally on the new computer.  Detail improvements are exactly that and are not OEM or at all time options that are restricted are related in that they are installed on the original computer.

Upgrade Vista license policy (don't have Win 7 in front of me right now, but it seems the same or very similar):

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, that this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

    16. PROOF OF LICENSE.  ...

    17 REASSIGN TO ANOTHER DEVICE.

    a. software other than Windows Anytime Upgrade. You can uninstall the software and install it on another device for your use. You are unable to share this license between devices.

    b. Windows Anytime Upgrade software. The first user of the software may reassign the license to another device, but only if the terms of the software license you upgraded allows reallocation.

    18. TRANSFER TO A THIRD PARTY.

    a. software other than Windows Anytime Upgrade. The first user of the software may make a transfer time of the software and this agreement, directly to a third party. The first user must uninstall the software before transferring the unit separately. The first user can keep no copies.

    b. Windows Anytime Upgrade software. You can transfer the software directly to a not third parties only with the device under license. You can't keep all copies of the software or any earlier version.

    c. other requirements. Before any transfer authorized, the other party must accept that this agreement applies to the transfer and use of the software. The transfer must include proof of license. "

  • Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor isn't complete

Whenever I try to run the Windows 7 Upgrade advisor it never ends (I even gave it the day after once!) and I have to cancel it. Any ideas what can go wrong?

First of all, let's make sure that you have the right one: http://windows-7-upgrade-advisor.en.softonic.com/.  In case your original copy was defective, uninstall the original program and reinstall using this new download.

If it never ends, it may have had a problem with your original download or there could be other reasons.  This is the first time I've heard there has not squarely and simply frozen.

Try a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.  If it's running, the problem is resolved.  Once remember to put Vista in normal status, as described in the procedures. If the problem occurs in clean mode then just restore the system to normal and reboot - this solution will not work.

Start in safe mode with network and see if the problem is here.  A result allows us to narrow down the search for the cause.

It takes only a few minutes (less than an hour for sure) - so if she's enjoyed that it is frozen.

If none of the above work, then repost your question in the Forums Windows7:http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7install/threads where Windows7 experts will be happy to help you.  There may be another way, I'm not about to determine whether or not the computer can be improved.

    I hope this helps.

  • How can I remove Windows anytime upgrade from Win 7

My windows 7 Home premium on my laptop has windows anytime upgrade and I want to get off the computer completely. I don't want to simply disable it or hide it, I want it on the hard drive. I found instructions online for windows vista, but I don't think it will work on windows 7, or will it? I have a HP laptop.

This is the link I foumd to remove a vista on a Lenovo system:

    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?sitestyle=Lenovo&lndocid=SF07-d0

On the opening menu I click with the right button on the shortcut and open the location of the file and found 3 files with updated at any time under the name and tried to remove them manually, but got an error message that I don't have the rights to do so. The solution was to try again or cancel and try again once does not work. Yet, I'm not sure that just delete these 3 files might get rid of him anyway.

Is there a way to do this?

    Thank you

Please understand that shortcut link Windows Anytime Upgrade using all of the system resources. Its simply a mechanism of the operating system used to unlock the features of a higher edition. Its as you say windows to grow hair, it grows as long as provide you the key, is not as the "grown up" hair was there all along to take disk space or use of resources.

If you look at an installation of Windows 7 Home Premium, its usually about 6 GBs, when you use the upgrade to upgrade to a higher edition like ultimate, Express size increases to 10 GB, which means basically, he never used any extra space at the beginning.

  • Windows 8 upgrade - lack of exceptions of the unmanaged system (wdf01000.sys) thread

I'm moving to Win 7 Home Premium to Win 8 Pro. After installation of Win 8 is complete (after verification), I get the error "Unhandled System exception in thread (wdf01000.sys)" and windows 8 installation is cancelled. Have tried a few times, but get the same error.  I ran through BlueScreenView discharge and it points to "Wdf01000.sys + 122ac '... Help, please.

The setupmem.dmp seems to have the required information and shows that the AiChargerPlus.sys driver is perhaps the question:

The AiChargerPlus.sys, which is dated November 8, 2010, may be an element of the have charger + utility ASUS.

I would say to uninstall have charger + and try the upgrade again.

I also suggest to update the GEARAspiWDM.sys (heavy plant driver) to a compatible version of Windows 8 before the upgrade:

And consider to uninstall Norton before the upgrade, do the upgrade, and then reinstall Norton using the latest compatible version Windows 8 or go with a built-in antivirus Windows 8 software.

  • Newbie question on merging 3 - Windows 7 (upgrade) and virtual disk

    Hello

I apologize if these questions were discussed on other threads, but I looked and did not find those specific to what I do. Since I am a new user, my experience with the merger is limited only to the few days of operational use.

I received my iMac the other day and wanted to install Windows 7 (upgraded version) using Boot Camp and access either by booting natively to Win7 or through merger to access the Boot Camp. My friend, who has more experience than me has suggested, I use VMware Fusion for Win7 do run a vitural drive and not worth using Boot Camp, and a "hard" partition He said it would be faster and easier to manage (not sure now).

I set up a disc in this drive and external created 4 partitions, which was intended for Win7. Then I installed VMware Fusion on iMac and went on loading windows on the external drive using the easy method. Easy installation application the activation code for Win7 and I provided at the specified location. Everything was humming along nicely until Windows 7 complained that he could not find a version support for Windows earilier. I had a Windows XP genuine disc ready to throw on the iMac, as soon as she needed, but instead he has cancelled installation.

Then, I went to Google and searched for some answers and discovered that Win7 install in Fusion without an activation code. I uninstalled VMware and reinstalled, restarted the process, do not put in the Win7 activation code and everything was fine... except now, there is no Windows activation request. I've searched and anywhere to click on a link to activate Windows, or indeed could not find a place to write in the activation key.

    What is happening with this?

    Ron

Windows installation without a product key is convenient to have more options to activate Windows later.  Don't worry, Windows will "ask" you activate in the near future, but if you are willing to 'true' then go to properties of the icon of the computer and at the bottom you will see the activation state and you can change/enter your product key.
