Windows 8 upgrade - slow WiFi

I recently updated my Acer Aspire 5750 G for Windows 8. After you format and do a fresh install because I was stuck in the 'auto repair loop', I found myself having to re - install all the drivers, etc.
I advanced and installed all necessary drivers, including Wireless LAN ones. However, I get now ridiculously slow speed when the WiFi. Ethernet works normally.
I think it's a Broadcom 802.11 b/g/n card. The site provides drivers for a certain card Atheros. I installed, it tells me the device is not found, but still installed a Broadcom (5.100.245.20) driver.
I also updated the BIOS with the latest version (1.21).
I don't really know what more can be done, I installed and uninstall the drivers many times, tried a few old Windows 7, but am always incapitated with very slow transfer rates.
Any help would be really appreciated, because now I'm stuck in the living room with the Ethernet cable!
I fixed it:
I have downloaded the Windows 7 Broadcom drivers on the Acer Support site, ran the installation in Windows 7 compatibility mode (it crashes if not), and now my WiFi speed is back to normal.

There could be a problem with the wifi driver that comes with Windows 10. I think that you first need to find the right driver for Windows 10 on the Acer site. Otherwise, you may need to install a usb wireless card.

When you try to upgrade my wife 8 to 10 of Windows Lenovo desktop, I get a message of Error 0x80072EFD-0 x 20000.

The operation has timed out. This can happen if the computer is not connected to the Internet. To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
- Start Internet Explorer, and then make sure that the computer has an Internet connection.
- Go to KB836941and run the Fixit package.
- Try to upgrade to Windows 10 once again.
If you still receive the error message, check the firewall settings and make sure that the following Web sites addresses are allowed through the firewall:

slow WiFi with 7.6.7
I have the extreme of the airport which has been upgraded to 7.6.7. Since upgrading my wifi connections are slow. If the 2 devices are on the wifi at the same time the second device running very slowly. This problem did not exist before the 7.6.7 upgrade.
How can I fix this problem?
Have you thought to go back to the previous version of the firmware as a possible solution? Or do you want to try it first to other things?
Users discover that the firmware update will not fix a problem that they did not... but sometimes, it will create a new they had not before.

Acer Windows 7 upgrade kit does NOT work!
Hi I have an Acer Aspire 5538 (4 GB of RAM and 220 GB of memory) I'm trying to upgrade to Windows (vista and both are family premium). I read elsewhere on the site that someone had the same problem as me and earasing everything on computer seemed to have worked according to your suggestions (so I did and put everything on my USB). Later, I used the "dics ghost" factory, which deletes the database from the computer to the factory settings. So I'm trying to upgrade and the first CD has worked well "Acer upgrade disc. Now, when I put in the second one it says that my pc is not compatible, and that my pc must be x 86 (32-bit) or x 64 (64-bit). I went into the "system information", and it clearly states "x 86 based PC" until I do?. The second disk named: "Windows 7 upgrade media" does not work!
Even I am confused. Tell you what, download Windows 7 Home Premium. ISO image, burn it to a blank DVD and use your product key to install and activate it.

Vista Home premium OEM Windows 7 upgrade
Members of the community of dear MS,
I have two laptop PCs, they are all two Dell Inspiron 6400 and 1525 running Windows Vista Home premium.
I intend to have these two computers, but both work very well while they are slow.
I think Windows 10 upgrade because I am convinced that the operating system can give the best operation of resources even with older components.
Before moving to Windows 10, I need to upgrade to Windows 7 so that I can get a free upgrade for Windows 10.
Given that my two laptops are the OEM of Vista Home premium version and the Dell product key does not work to activate Windows 7.
Can I ask for help to advise what I can do now?
If I need to pay for an update to obtain Windows 7 Home Edition Basic, can advise please how I can pay for it.

It is not sensible to buy a license and upgrade to Windows 7 just to get the free update of Windows 10.
Just buy Windows 10 GB of the full version of the GET (you will need two licenses), and then perform a custom installation:

(1) you can upgrade from 32-bit to 64-bit with a clean install if:
a. your device supports a 64-bit environment and,b. you realize that there are still not 100% 64-bit support is quite possible for you to have the software in your possession that don't run in an environment 64-bit, forcing you to spend more money on the software. Honestly, the only difference between the environments of 32 and 64 bit is the maximum RAM capacity. I have a slow WiFi connection. I use a newer MacBookPro and have no ethernet to make a direct connection. I had a router to the South, but just before he went to the South, I was getting 220Mbps down speeds and I just got a new modem D-Link and he got setup one moment I'm stuck on 23Mbps. My other MacBook which is oldest to 125Mbps downwards. My desktop Mac mini becomes the same as my remarks 23Mbps Pro. If I connect directly the mini I get a compatible 220Mbps speed. I've been with comcast today and they don't see any problems with a direct link and 220Mbps, and my other book on wifi getting an Im 123Mbps sure that the issue isn't with comcast. I don't know what settings are now the speed down. I know that this is not the new router either because I have an old router which is at the same speed but the router that went towards the South allowed me to get the 220Mbps via wifi when it was working fine. The D-Link is new and seems to be ok. My other was a router Netgar N900. The D-Link is the AC-3150, a pretty radical router. The interface is a bit different, but it has the same information as the other routers.
IM pretty good setting up networks, but this one has pulling me my hair out.
I can't connect directly, otherwise I'd do it but why with a laptop. I also connected directly with my mini and who then shared and still only got 23Mbps speeds. My service is minimum 150Mbps downwards.
Someone has an idea of what might be wrong. I reset and rebooted several times. My connection is DHCP but I did no changes using this or static. I checked the settings between the two laptops, and there is nothing else that I can see.

Fixed a problem. I have the new D-Link AC3150 Ultra WiFi router. It is supposed to be an intelligent router that gives you the best radio for the fastest speeds available. Maybe it's not so smart after all. I disabled the smart function and configuring a dual network. One for the other for 5G and 2.4 g. I put the 2.4 for older speeds and 5G for speed N/AC Protocol. After setting this up, I chose the 5G network and now my speeds are shouting along to 224Mbps and solid as a rock.
Other than to be not so smart at least on a Mac platform I see no problem still with this router. I will pass along this information for D-Link. If you purchased one of these and your speed is way slower than expected then you need disable the smart function and have just two separate networks. Catch 5G as it is young, but don't forget that you only let the speed N or AC. Don't let not default on older slower speeds.

My problem has been resolved.
Previously, the problem with "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor BETA.
I waited two months - now, I executed the Adviser again, resulting in "an important upgrade".
And guess: update Advisor works like a rocket, finishing with a nice report with minor problems.
So I think that the problem was a "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor" - problem - not a HP computer laptop-problem.
