«Windows cannot find setup.bath...» "Help, please!

When windows starts, there is an error message «windows cannot find setup.bath...» "and when I click ok my pc restart. What should I do? (Sorry for the bad English)

To access the system recovery environment in Windows 7, simply start your PC, just before the system loads the Windows operating system. Press the [F8] key function 8 on your keyboard which will launch the menu Advanced Boot Options. You will see a new option "Repair your computer", select this option and press 'Enter' on your keyboard.

Found that I had the same problem here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555472

"To solve the problem, follow these steps:

what I did export this key to work windows XP install and import the reg file for windows failure or you can manually create the key and send it to point to the location of the file if the file is missing then copies the file u do not know if the file differs from the House of Pro but its another option to take if U'r is still stuck.
Sort my prob was the corruption in the reg for missing file that the hotfix may not work as such. If U still have the problem (cause the post is old) so good luck
  • Problem getting setup.exe file from Acrobat XI - using WinRAR extractor - "Windows cannot find a file... '.

I downloaded Adobe Acrobat XI from my download of the University site (so I know it's a legitimate and safe copy).  When I run the .exe file, even if an administrator, he begins to extract using WinRAR archive self-extracting and stops with an error pop-up windows:

    «Windows cannot find «C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Temp\RarSFX0\Adobe Acrobat XI\setup.exe»»

I scanned using Malwarebytes, AVG, Spybot and run a \scannow command.  Nothing is a corrupt file.  Any ideas what might be causing the extractor does not work?

I am running Windows 7 on a Dell 64 bit laptop.

SOLUITION - I had to actually download a version of WinRAR Extractor.  Right click on the file AcrobatXI - Windows.exe downloaded and choose "Open with WinRAR" (this option was not available until I downloaded the WinRAR application - apparently the extractor runs automatically, but does not have full functionality).  Then I nagivated in the Adobe Acrobat folder in the WinRAR window selected the setup.exe file to run.  It has open and installed beautifully.

  • Windows cannot access anything WHATSOEVER. Please read and help me!

The computer goes to market very well and everything, but it then automatically displays "Windows cannot find 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\msspi.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly and try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click search." This computer was only randomly we gave, with nothing other than the tower. I was just going to clean by removing unwanted programs and others, but every time I click on Add / Remove Programs, it says "C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe Application not found. So I tried to do a system restore, but I don't know if this is possible without a Windows CD (which we don't). And whenever I try to open Firefox, it says open with: program recommended, etc... so I click on Firefox and he invites me to save an exe file on the Local disk, which I do, but it does not open. Whenever I try to open all the files, MSWord or MP3, JPEG files that are saved on the computer, he essentially told me that they do not exist. So obviously, this computer can not do anything. Can someone tell me what is the problem and how to solve? I want to just fees to the computer factory State. Thank you very much!

The file msspi.exe is probably a malicious who resided once in your system32 folder. Have you had a recent infection and run an anti-malware program? If so, you are experiencing the consequences of infection. (Of course, it is possible that there is another infection on your PC as well.)

Once you have backed up all your data (ask if you need advice), you can restore your associations, etc. First if all, follow the instructions here:

    http://FILExt.com/FAQ/broken_exe_association.php

You will need a PC work which is online and one of these USB flash drives to transfer the file.

The reg. XP referenced on the above page is the same as this one:

    http://www.dougknox.com/XP/file_assoc.htm

(That would be the ninth link "EXE File Association Fix.)

Chances are that other associations can be broken. These patches can be found here:

    http://Technorati.com/technology/it/article/remove-after-effects-of-virusesmalwarespyware-and/page-2/

Really, you should run a full scan with the latest version of MalwareBytes Anti-Malware:

    http://www.Malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

(It is not necessary to activate the full when the choice. This way you will get it for free. The free version should be all you need.)

And then, if you REALLY want your PC to have his "fresh out the factory condition" (perhaps not necessary, but a valid choice), you must follow the directions of the manufacturer provided. If you need advice, let us know the brand, model and model number of your PC.

Heh. Just re-read the post. Given that this PC has been given to you, you should really flatten and rebuild, which means that it returns to its original state. I'll leave these instructions (assuming that their computers are not used). You really don't want to take any risk with a PC being used (for example, a PC that is part of the "botnet", spewing more tons of spam, keylogging programs that follow your identities, pornography, etc.).

Edit: For best results, follow the instructions of Robear Dyer here:

    1. what operating system is installed on your computer?

    2. have there been recent changes to the computer before the show?

Please go ahead and follow the steps mentioned and later a update on the State of the question.

Method 1: Rof the United Nations [System File Checker] SFC scan on the computer that would be a search for system files corrupted on the computer and replace them.

For Windows 7 and Vista: http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

    For Windows XP: http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310747

Method 2:  Also try to scan your computer for the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Please follow these recommended steps and post if you still experience the problem.

  • Windows cannot find the pictur error ~ 1.exe

Windows cannot find pictur ~ 1.exe error, when you click ok then pictur ~ 2.exe cannot be found, and then click ok and imagev ~ 1.exe is not found. Happen sporatically throughout the day and the error messages inspire each other to end up with dozens of the same error message in the task bar. There is no pictur ~ 1.exe in msconfig. You need to determine how to make this error go away, or which is looking for this program, or to all the less determine where it is sought.

Although I always think you should ask the help of expert antimalware, if you want to dig a little deeper on your own, here are 3 ideas, neither has no guarantee of success:

    1. take a look in the event viewer (start > run > eventvwr > OK) and see if error messages are displayed that give the name of the routine which tries to launch these exe files.

    2. learn to use the process monitor (and, perhaps, Process Explorer).  These are powerful tools, and the learning curve is a bit steep.  I can't help you here.  See the links in the sidebar or the other of the two pages linked above.  You can start by watching the video here.

    3. in association with the use of Process Monitor, create an exe file with the name that appears in your error message and save it in a folder that is in your path (for example, C:\Windows).  You can make a copy of an existing such as Notepad.exe exe file and rename it to picture ~ 1.exe or create an exe of your own by using a tool like ExeScript.  If you get real ambitious, you might learn a little windows script (for example, this tutorial) and have your exe file displays the name of the process that called it (again, to help you with this is beyond my skills).

If you try one of these ideas and are able to go to the bottom of your problem, please post back with the details so that others (especially me) can learn.
