Windows color settings?

Maybe it's a little off topic but curious about all this who-if Windows 7 color settings (W7) must be changed or modified to ensure the output of consistent color from Photoshop (PS)?  I have configured PS regarding the color, I was wondering if there is something in W7 to change...

Thank you

Leave everything in Windows with default settings. There is no need to change anything, except in special circumstances, for example, if you have a monitor corrupt profile.

Color management is not performed by the operating system. It is strictly made the application (if it is color everything)-all windows did was to make available for the application to use profiles.

  • Message box color settings disabled when you use the dialog "Windows color and appearance".

When you use the configuration dialog box 'Window color and appearance', why are there color settings invalid?  I want to remove the default 'Pastel Pink' value that I find unacceptable.

I can switch to "Classic Windows" that uses no pastel pink color, but "Classic Windows" does not support "Aero Peek", and the windows look pretty tired.  You can only take "Classic Windows" for many years.

Color settings are disabled for: buttons, Message box, title of Palette, scroll bar.

    Help, please!

Me too I'm frustrated by that.   Found the old windows with very honest XP environment.   I used the advanced settings, but has not found a way to save the changes with a label, so I knew that the changes you made.   It is just Frigging trial and error and very frustrating.

Why are there no way to return either to the default value (not found a default label) or save the settings changed under a name?    It is a productivity KILLER.

    Hello

Interface user of Windows 7 is theme based. The colors are defined by the theme.

You still have many color options that can be used to change the colors.

Right click on the desktop and select Personalize. Click on the color of the window at the bottom of the window box.

You can select one of the colors in the boxes colored at the top.

Adjust the intensity of the color with the cursor.

Click on the color down mixer and you can a lot of variations on all the different color choices.

    I hope this helps.

Thank you for using Windows 7

  • Active window color problem - cannot change the background color

original title: Active window color problem

By right-clicking: Desktop, then click on: personalization / window color and appearance / settings (Advanced) appearance, Windows user can assign a background color of the active window in any application.  This is useful for those of us who don't want a stark white screen; We can assign a mild pastel tint which may be easier on the eyes for long term sessions.

At some recent point, I lost the background color of the active window within Windows uses 'household.  I still not my background color assigned in any application I run (Word, Mail, etc.), but using Windows Explorer to navigate through my hard drive, the active window is now always the default stark white Windows.  How this change and can it be forced to adhere to the assigned active window background color?

    Hello

Step 1: Check if the problem continues in a new user account.

Step 2: If the problem does not persist in a new user account, then the old profile could have been corrupted. Try the following article to fix a corrupted user profile.

  • Color settings is not Lightroom color settings

How are you guys! I'm an amateur photographer and use Lightroom and Photoshop. 99% of my work is done in Lightroom, so I really only use Photoshop rarely when I need to do certain things.

It seems that every since ch & LR CC came out, I cannot get my color profiles to match. I know that LR uses an embedded color profile that is ProPhoto RGB, so I put the color profile accordingly in the PS, but when I open an image in LR and PS, the colors do not match. I've attached a screenshot of the same image open in both programs where we see the difference in color. Does anyone know how can I fix? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    colors.JPG

This is most likely a bad display profile. This can affect different applications in different ways.

Color of managed applications must always show absolutely identical - that's the whole point of the management of the colors in the first place. There is no particular reason PS and Lightroom color settings must match. They should display properly regardless of the color space of the file.

The right way to handle this is to use a standard to make a new profile to display. If you do not, use sRGB IEC61966 - 2.1 for the moment, it is usually close enough for most people.

Replace your current profile in Windows Color Management. Be sure to restart both applications when done - they need to load the new profile at the start of the application:

  • I've updated to the latest version and now all my color settings are confusing. Open old files shows wrong colors. What can I do?

Open the old files poster colors wrong unless I switch to "Monitor RGB" and turn on "Proof colors" in the view menu.

Exporting jpg files gives me files that look different in each browser. Many of my images take on a lighter yellow cast. I know there are issues with the help of profile being different between browsers, but I've never had this problem before. All my different when PSD files I open them and export differently than before.

Even my Color picker displays more pure gray, but gray yellow in them. With the evidence mentioned above, color settings, I select in the picker look nothing like what is actually painted on the canvas. I see gray on the canvas but yellow gray in the color picker.

I remember spending a lot of time setting up my color settings in my previous version of Photoshop. They seem to not have been migrated to my new version, and I don't know how to recover or configure again.

The upgrade should not create these fundamental differences with my settings and workflows. I work almost exclusively with screen images and websites and I have no idea how to proceed. I can still function normally with my old files and the product is basically useless for me as it behaves now.

I'm desperate. What can I do?

    Robinson-Adobe says:

Open the old files poster colors wrong unless I switch to "Monitor RGB" and turn on "Proof colors" in the view menu.

That what is disable display color management chain - IOW take your profile instructor out of the loop. Which means you have a bad monitor profile, probably a sent through Windows Update.

The real solution is to use a standard to make a new profile, but if you do not have one, use sRGB IEC61966 - 2.1 for now. Go to control panel > color management:

Be sure to restart Photoshop to load the new profile at startup.

Color settings won't leave anything here, and don't change anything. Color settings is to manage document profiles - but the issue here is the profile of the monitor , which is something different treated elsewhere.

  • Should what color settings I use in Photoshop?

    Capture.PNG

These parameters ^ are good? Can I use Adobe 1998 or Profile (↓) default monitor

    Capture2.PNG

Also should what color settings I set in the color management window. Right now the default profile is set to Adobe RGB 1998 (↓).

    Capture3.PNG

Now, workspace is set to Adobe RGB 1998. I usually joined Adobe 1998 in most of the Images. I know the difference between famous color profiles (Adobe 1998, sRGB, Prophoto..)

When I use view-Proof Setup - Monitor RGB colors seem more vivid (and natural).

Also the images when opened in Adobe Ps seems different when displayed in the default photo viewer windows (and wallpaper)... But Adobe RGB 1998 default in Windows Color Management. Thus, the Ps and photo viewer (or wallpaper) image should look even. But it's not. Why?

Adobe Photoshop is a software managed on the basis of the color... This means that the settings in Windows Color Management has no effect on the display how Photoshop colors?

I've read dozens of Web pages about all this. Some of them told to change workspace - RGB to Adobe RGB 1998.

Also every monitor is different then how the uniformity of color is maintained around the world? Not all hardware users calibrate their display.

I know there are a lot of questions above. I'm confused. Searching for this for months.

Thank you for giving your time to answer these questions.

Workspace must be a standard space - sRGB, Adobe RGB, ProPhoto. In fact, it is not all that matters, because the embedded document profile always overwrites. In other words, as long as you have defined strategies to "Preserve embedded profiles", which is the only sensitive parameter. You have it, so that's fine.

Do not use the monitor here profile! The color settings dialog box is to manage document profiles. The monitor profile is a different animal in all, serve a different purpose.

The monitor profile is implemented at the level of the system - the calibrator will do that for you BTW - and will be used by color management applications without any intervention from the user. The profile appears in the color management > devices dialog. This is your last screenshot. The monitor profile must be marked 'default'.

You need both of these profiles, monitor and document, for a managed path color display. The source profile is converted on the fly, by application, on the monitor profile. These converted values are sent to the screen. In this way the display is exactly corrected for, much more precise than what can be achieved simply by adjusting the monitor.

It seems that you are using a canned profile, supplied with the monitor. Just mark it by default and that's all. Note that you you get a much better result with the help of a Stallion! Manufacturer profiles, despite assertions to the contrary, are generic and not designed specifically for your device. They are also surprisingly often defective/broken. Come if you encounter specific problems.

  • CS5 synchronized color settings. How can I get the sync?

My window of Photoshop CS5 for the States of color settings: synchronized. Your Creative Suite applications are not synchronized for consistent color.

Question: How will I then get it synchronized?

    Chrissto @.

Don't bother, just dismiss this dialog box. All means of "synchronization", it's that the same preset is applied to the color of each application settings. You can do it manually.

But there is no particular reason to have the same color settings in all applications. Requirements will be probably different and my color settings are deliberately not synchronized (I wouldn't dream of ProPhoto RGB in Illustrator or InDesign, just as I would never policies CMYK, the value "preserve numbers" in Photoshop).

  • OfficeJet 7610 large format: Advanced color settings

Bought an Officejet 7610 wide format e-all-in-one more than 1 year ago.  Finally put in place.  Am I correct, that there is no advanced settings of color as my old Photosmart C6280 - brightness, saturation, hue, and settings for each color? Is this what current HP - Photosmart line?

    Hi @jyz2100,

Although the advanced color settings may be different, there are options with software and print, dialog box that you can modify. I wonder if you might find the following useful information:

    The default sRGB mode
The default sRGB color space is the most common configuration for print jobs. As mentioned, most of the images are sRGB and sRGB offers color high quality automatic without user intervention. When sRGB is selected, the driver controls the color management. Color management should not be attempted with ICC profiles, while the pilot is set to sRGB mode. This will lead to generally low color fidelity.
