  Error code 0 x 80070005 usually indicates that you don't have enough privileges or the operation is blocked. I know, some programs (Boot Camp on a Mac PC, etc.) is not compatible with Windows 7, if you have installed these programs on the computer, you may not be able to perform the upgrade. You should uninstall these programs before upgrading. In addition, such a question may be related to UAC, I recommend you turn off UAC in Windows Vista, if you have installed security software, try uninstalling the security application as well.

  Hey chris until there are a lot of people like me who had problems WU as the search and update.  I put a link and go to the site and follow Ken Morely instructions post about this time, it's the only possible fix that really works from to WU problems. Try it and let me know how you did. I don't know if that this fix will work for you.

  Please provide the error screenshot more better assitance. Also, try this:

  Try to copy and merge the audio from another Windows 8 or better service.

  You can do this by going to the Registry Editor (make sure that the other computer is also a 32-bit system)

  Go to HKLM/system/current control set/services/audiosrv click audiosrv and then on the file menu, select export and save the file to a USB key or drive.

  While copy on your machine and merge. Then restart your system.
