  • Windows Defender stop working after the malicious software removal tool

I ran windows software and after this removal tool, my windows Defender stopped working says its turned off, but when I try to turn it on nothing happens

This problem can occur because another security application is used or the Windows Defender service has stopped, or components of Windows Defender are corrupt.

You install any new programs recently? Windows Defender is not designed to protect against the extent of malware. If programs like Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows Defender both run, your system may experience degradation in performance and other problems caused by the conflict of two services providing real-time protection at the same time. I recommend that you keep the Defender off if another application of security protection is running.

If no similar security application is installed, I suggest that we have follow these steps to resolve the problem:

Step 1: Check the Windows Defender service
    =================================
    1. click on start, in the search box, type: "services.msc" (without the quotes) and press ENTER. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    2. double-click on the service "Windows Defender".
    3. click on the 'general' tab. Make sure the "Startup Type" is "automatic". Then please click on "Start" under "Status of Service" to start the service.

If the problem is not resolved, please refer to step 2:

Step 2: Save the associated DLL files
    ========================
    1. click on start, type "cmd" (without the quotes) in the box start the search. Right click on CMD listed above and click 'run as administrator '.

    2. in the command prompt, type the following and press ENTER to each order:

    regsvr32 atl.dll

    regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuapi.dll
    regsvr32 softpub.dll
    regsvr32 mssip32.dll

    3. close the command prompt, and then run Windows Defender.

If the problem persists, please after return.

  • Javaws.exe * 32 multiply on my list of processes Windows 7 SP1

Windows 7 SP1 on a HP Pavilion with an i5.

I the system disconnected from the network now and will not reconnect until this that fixed.

I had Norton running but stop it because I he blamed for the delay.  Then I saw the list of process on taskmanager filled javaws.exe * 32.

A ran malwarebytes found smoothly and have Defender running but the kills javaws.exe connectivity.

It prevented a java update to complete.  Prevents the Defender update, but not the analysis.

    I do I cut Javaws.exe?

How can I determine the cause?

    Thank you

    Steve

I had this experience before too - several times.  the javaws.exe keeps propagating itself.  What worked for me was perform a restart and then immediately uninstall Java before she had the chance to take over the machine again.  Must be quick to give the uninstall process works immediately when restarting.

After a reboot, I re-installed the latest Java and everything was fine.

  • Windows 7 SP1 w/IE 11 freezes, slow performance with switching webpages, downloads, games run very slowly and when to play simple games (for example, CandyCrush Saga) it ignores the graphics and music.

I have an older Toshiba Satellite laptop I found that, after buying new laptops, I return to my only older because of its speed of travel from site to site, download and never had any problems with games.  I was running Windows 7 Home Edition, IE 9.

About a year ago, I decided to upgrade my Windows 7 Home Edition to Windows 7 Professional and updated my browser IE 11.  Laptop still has a large.

Then about 6 months ago I started to receive messages when you enter a Web site that I need to install Flash Player to view the page.  I checked my modules and Shockwave or Flash Player have been activated and would download it again to display the Web site (which I had already visited several times without any problems).  This has happened on several different sites.  Then I started to receive messages that I needed to upgrade my IE8 browser to a newer version.  I checked HELP to make sure that I still installed IE11 and I did it, I started getting these messages more often then I went to the aid of Microsoft Office on what to do if your Web pages telling you to upgrade.  Basically, IE11 is reset or uninstall IE11.  Reset is not good so I tried the method of reinstallment.  I uninstalled IE11, went to the download page for Microsoft IE11 and proceeds to download IE11.

I saw a message that I couldn't download IE11 because I need to Windows 7 SP1 or later or Windows server 2008.  Then, I went to Microsoft requirements for the installation of Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 and follow-up procedures one (i.e., uninstall Adobe Acrobet, disabling Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows Defender and firewall, etc.) and after the installation of SP1 for Windows 7, followed all procedures to know what to do after the installation of SP1.  Downloaded all the updates (which were more than 120) restarted and was satisfied with fluent how my laptop worked once more.

After a week, I noticed my phone to talk more and more to load pages and would begin to get Windows Explorer "unresponsive".  It started with almost everything I opened and I tried to edit Web pages or click icon to redirect me to another window, I kept receiving "not responding".  Rose (Microsoft), what to do and monitoring tools to try to fix the problem.  Initially, the problem was to find for a few hours, then starting upwards.  After a few days, my laptop almost took 30-45 seconds to switch between the tabs or windows.  After a search through questions and answers in the Microsoft community and Microsoft Web pages, the bottom line was reinstall Windows 7 SP1.

Yet once, uninstalled and reinstalled Windows 7 SP1 and again ran perfect for a few days.  I turned on computer laptop yesterday and noticed that it took a long time for the upcoming Windows logo and has a black screen for a few seconds before the logo appears.  Of course, out of nowhere, I went to IE clicked icon and took forever to get to Yahoo (which is my predefined Web page).  Each page, I'm going to again is freezing, "not responding" and very slow operation.

It is so frustrating because I added not all programs at all.  I am running IE11, Microsoft Security Essentials, and that's all. Outside of Windows Defender, firewall, Explorer, Media player, etc..  Microsoft Security Essentials (I did a full scan) has detected no viruses whatsoever and I 264 GB 285 GB free on my C: drive.  Therefore, there is no problem with the free space.  I have deleted the old files, temp files, analyzed and defragmented my hard drive and am just lost as to what is the cause.  All my drives are underway and have no conflict with all devices.  If I go down my Windows Professional so I will not be able to download anything higher than IE9.  I love IE11 and am happy with Win 7 SP1 if only he would stay longer than 3 or 4 working days.

    Do you have any suggestions?

    Hello Karen,

Please run a scan with the following programs to see if your computer is infected by a piece of malware or a Trojan horse:

  • Do I really need to download Windows Vista SP1, if I already have SP2? Problem reports and Solutions says to download.

I ran, "Find new solutions", in the problem reports and Solutions and a new solution was found for Blue error screen and he recommended that I have download Windows Vista SP1. I have SP2, so I need to download the old version too?

    Hi JJ,

I took the lead and it moved to the Performance and maintenance Forum. In response to the original question don't you're useless to download SP1 again since you have installed SP2. However, it would be preferable to follow with PA support to troubleshoot the Stop Code you receive.

  • Windows Update is not working on Windows 7 SP1

I am running Windows 7 SP1 Home Premium on an HP Pavilion laptop g6 (AMD quad-core).

I did the updates of Windows 15/07/12 and 'last ' check updates 22/07/12.

The computer is not used for a few years. So there is no change.

Now go to Control Panel Windows Update Check for Updates runs forever without doing anything.  He pretended to look for updates.

I tried to start and stop services, deleting files, changing startup, run Windows Update Diagnostic (problems of finding several times and so-called fixation), preparation tool update running system (looking for updates on this computer for always doing nothing), turn off internet security and I have probably forgotten some things.

While trying different things from the prompt as administrator, the REN command failed: access is denied.

I just missed the free update of Windows 10 ended 07/29/16.  It seems that Windows is not allowing updates (flaws security potentially bad) to charge $120 for 10 Windows me.

  • Windows (7, SP1) update stuck looking for updates! Help, please!

My laptop Windows 7 SP1 is stuck updates. I tried many methods, including:

    • Reset Windows Update.
    • Empty the cache.
    • Troubleshooting of Windows Update.
    • Microsoft Fixit.
    • With the help of CCleaner.
    • Using method of command line to rename files (I think it does this).
    • Factory reset.
    • (And Yes - turning works again!)
    • [EDIT] - I tried windows 10 setup.exe .

I need to install KB2952664 & KB3035583, before I can upgrade to Windows 10 level, but what holds back me.

Any help would be appreciated as I need to use this laptop instead of my PC soon, with me who need some Windows 10 features to work.

    -Thank you

I don't think running Setup in win - 10 iso care what existing updates exist it is pretty much do a upgrade on the spot if this is the option you choose to

Personally, I'd be a new / clean installation do not keep anything for conflict with the victory-10

So this would first create a system image where you are now so that if the upgrade fails at least you can restore the image from without having to re - install the previous operating system

It is best to perform the system image

    http://www.Macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx

But if the stalls and errors occur, I'd not impulsive and force the upgrade, but that's just me

If it is difficult, now waiting for the installation of win - 10 to be less than perfect.

And could be the reason for which the stall occurs = it gives you a heads up stop :)

  • WmiPrvSE.exe constantly calls c:\windows\system32\tzres.dll and tzres.dll.mui in the Windows 7 SP1

clean install of Windows and all the Windows updates applied, same Microsoft Security Essential antivirus installed, and the WmiPrvSE.exe process constantly calls c:\windows\system32\tzres.dll and tzres.dll.mui in Windows 7 SP1.

If the use of the HARD drive is never-ending, because he calls the files per second, and I have the red light of the hard disk activity lights up every second.

also this problem because constant use of the processor to 3% in my PC, the WmiPrvSE.exe process never stop calling the above mentioned files.

    Hello

For a better understanding of the question, I would like to know if the computer is connected to the domain network?

Windows® Management Instrumentation (WMI) is a component of the Microsoft Windows operating system that provides control and management information in an enterprise environment. With wmiprvse.exe, managers of files in enterprise environments are capable of configuring and searching for desktop system or network information and applications on the network. Developers use the wmiprvse.exe file to develop applications used for monitoring purposes. These programs can inform users about important events associated with the right management of network and files or applications after each event occurs.

    Method 1:
I suggest you to put the computer in a clean boot state, and check if the problem persists.

Setting the system in a clean boot state will help you determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

Note: After the clean boot troubleshooting steps, see the "How to reset the computer to start as usual after a clean boot troubleshooting" section in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

    Method 2:
If the problem persists, I suggest you to install all Windows updates available including the optional updates and check if it helps.

See the article for more information.

  • Why Windows 7 SP1 Digital River download links do not work?

This morning, I tried to download a copy of Windows 7 SP1 Ultimate and it shows me:

The Page or file you requested cannot be provided

The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
Error HTTP 404 - file or directory not found.

    What should I do now?

    Hello

The only legal Windows 7 download available is now Microsoft, as Microsoft has stopped DigitalRiver Windows 7 ISO downloads.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery

But Microsoft only provides these downloads for Windows 7 keys to selling product at retail, not preinstalled OEM product keys (Dell, HP, etc.).

If you have a Windows 7 license detail and are having trouble at the above Web site, contact Microsoft using the Support option.

If you have Windows 7 preinstalled OEM (Dell, HP, Acer, etc.) Contact the manufacturer of your computer for the recovery disks.

They need to ship at low cost.

  • Windows 7 SP1 won't install; computer crashes.

    Hello

Windows 7 SP1 appears in Windows Update, but whatever I do, it will not be installed and each Setup attempt, it crashes my computer.

When trying to install, I get the error 800b0100. However, Windows Update usually hangs on 0% download and I need turning off the computer to use it.

    I use Windows 7 64-bit.

I followed all THE tips: load Update Readiness Tool (KB947821) system; use the Windows Update troubleshooting tool (whenever it identifies a problem with a compenent update, said it corrected, but you run the it and the same process happens); downloaded the latest version of Windows update. disabled Norton...

Is not just to stop me update MS, but the constant search for updates made my computer unusable but is the cause of crash constantly. I can not use system restore because I tried the update as many times that the first restore point is too late.

I would be very grateful for any advice.

    Hello

I just realized about this very recent which is apparently now closed:

    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?MessageID=275105

I had same problem with a Toshiba 1 TB drive - I lost on that day and tried at least 10 Windows 7 installs with various behaviours/settings/partitions and still the same result. Cannot run Windows Update.

I also tried to install Windows 7 SP1 from a DVD and have failed with a catastrophic mistake. I also tried to reformat the disk, the WIndows repair tool (ha!) update and installation when you're standing on my head while reciting the works of Shakespear.

I gave up in the end and decided to NOT use it as a system disk at all. Instead, I installed Windows 7 on a smaller drive and uses the 1 TB and successfully as a secondary on the same PC drive with a single partition of 1 TB.

I'm likely to have problems - maybe when the player is more complete and if I might be wise to split into 2 or more partitions?

I just bought the drive so I can send it if it's going to be a waste of time.

    Thank you very much.
