Windows Dvd Maker is finishing burning... it stops after 99% encoding.

Once I have begin to burn, it reaches only up to 99% until it stops and ejects my disc.

By checking my event viewer, I encounter the error and it reads as follows: create Dvd engine returned an error (-2) code when burning the disc

I do not understand the error and would really like to fix it so I can burn DVDs. Help, please?

I'm trying to burn a DVD of a family film, that I have edited in Windows movie maker. It goes to windows DVD maker, get to 99% and stops. I ran Mats_Run.dvd.exe microsoft fix and no problem. Is it possible to fix this program?

Do you want to do one thing first?
Use your movie maker and publish the movie on that computer. He's going to get published?
If this also fails, it means that some files you imported are not supported by the Director.
If the Director will not accept them either only DVD maker.

If you use google for formats of files supported by Windows Movie Maker, you will have a longer list than what I show you below. I stick to my list because they are the most reliable:
Video files: WMV. (There are different types of AVI formats. Some work, some don't. If I am lazy).
    Picture files: jpg, png, bmp
    Audio files: wav, wma

Problem - DVD burned with Windows DVD maker not fianalize Amend will be will not play back on normal household players

After spending a considerable amount of time and money (on blank media) trying to produce a DVD that will play on my Panasonic player normal, that I gave up. If you Google this problem there are a lot of people out there with the same problem then why not can it be 'fixed' once and for all by SM.

I tried to burn a slideshow of photo from Windows Live Photo Gallery, but she is spit out the disc at the end of 98.8%. R DVD plays perfectly on the PC but not the standalone player.

I even tried to change the types of burners and media, but they all gave the same problem. The disc is not finalized.

I can burn the DVD with the third-party software and these play fine, even, if I use XP pro, all is well so it's down to Vista I'm afraid. I have the latest version of Vista sp1 and all the drivers etc are up to date.

In view of the foregoing can recommend a decent software that will burn DVD properly with Vista AND produce photo jpeg slide shows?

Thanks in advance for any help

  • Windows DVD Maker doesn't burn files .wmv/wlmp video high definition?

    Hey all,.

Long time user WMM, but with the recent switch to Win7, I'm having a hard time with WLMM.  In short, create the movie in WLMM is a snap.  Burn a DVD quality is another story.

I am using video clips high definition AVCHD from my new Sony CyberShot camera and showing the film on a Samsung 50 "720 p plasma.  If I burn a project WLMM created (Save Movie-> burn a DVD) and burn it in DVD maker, the quality is absolutely terrible on the plasma. It looks like an old VHS tape.  So, I guess the resolution 480 I saved is the problem.

So, if I save the project with high-definition (720 p - 1280 x 720) in WLMM and try to extract this file in Windows DVD maker, I get the error "0 files have been added.  1 file could not be added.  The \xxxxx\xxxxx\xxxxx.wlmp file is not a supported file type, and it cannot be imported. "How is it possible that Windows DVD maker cannot burn a file created by its sister product Windows Live Movie Maker?  Am I missing something here, trying to extract a file to DVD Maker WLMM, or is it not possible?  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

  • What type of DVD should I buy to burn my Windows Movie Maker movie? Also, I have Windows DVD Maker, but no DVD burner. What should I buy?

I created a movie in Movie Maker.  I bought some DVD + r's - the correct burn the movie on?  Also, I don't have a burner, I thought that I did, I can only burn a CD what should I buy?  I don't have a Windows DVD authoring program.

    Hi rondah,.

Welcome to the Microsoft community newsgroups.

The type of recordable DVD, you need to use depends on your DVD burner, as well as on your DVD player. Some DVD burners can burn only to certain types of DVD recordable. For example, with some DVD burners, you can only record to DVD + R discs or DVD + RW or DVD-R or DVD - RW discs, while some other DVD burners will let you burn on all of these recordable DVD types.

As long as your DVD burner supports burning to these types of discs, you can use Windows DVD creation to burn a DVD using one of the following types of recordable and re-recordable DVD media: DVD + R, DVD + RW, DVD - R, DVD - RW, and DVD - ROM. These recordable or rewritable DVDs can be either simple single laminate or single sided double layer.

You should also consider the device you're using to play the DVD once you have engraved, if possible. Some DVD players and DVD - ROM drives play only certain types of DVD. To determine what types of DVDs your DVD player or DVD - ROM drive can play, see the documentation that came with your device or go to the manufacturer's Web site.

  • Why Windows DVD Maker keep crashing?

I try to start Windows DVD Maker with VISTA Home Premium.
Sometimes, it encodes only 3% and then crashes, IE closed its doors completely, suddenly without nessage or warning. Sometimes, he makes 30% or 60% and then hangs. And sometimes, it works perfectly, an hour or more DVDS. It seems to do a few minutes of DVD.
In case it's a matter of heating, I brushed all that I can see inside and checked the fans. I remove the side panel and blow with a fan domestic as well during the encoding.
    Help please.
Following advice by the way, I tried to convert a Movie Maker project file a.wmv, but crashed in the same way. Is the problem in the coding mechanism?

I installed speedfan , and it showed a temperature of 78 C in the CPU and a warning sign. The temperature seems to be creeping upward soon. Overheating is the problem and there is something else to dust?

The real reason was that the CPU thermal compound round had perished, so if you have problems that do not seem to be associated with fan, heater contact a competent PC repairman instead of naffing on this site.

  • Why does the Data Execution Prevention (DEP) stop Windows DVD maker work & burn a DVD of my videos?

My operating system is Windows Vista.  I used Movie Maker to make of my recordings of camcorder home movies, but when I try to burn a DVD with Windows DVD Maker, the program closed its doors with an error message - Data Execution Prevention (DEP) has apparently stopped the program for preventing possible dangers for my computer, maybe because he was "bad memory usage".  I tried to turn off DEP for this program, but it won't let me.  How to work around this problem?

NB I have not used the DVD maker for about 20 months, but it worked fine then!

    Hello

EricLaw IEInternals - a peek at Internet Explorer from inside. -Understanding DEP/NX
    http://blogs.msdn.com/ieinternals/archive/2009/10/10/understanding-data-execution-prevention-crashes-in-IE8.aspx

The problem might actually be an add-on or another program to the origin of the problem and you should check that
    1st.

What antivirus/antispyware/security products do you have on the machine? Be one you have NEVER on it
machines, including those that you have uninstalled (they leave leftovers behind which can cause strange problems).

Start - all programs - Accessores - system tools - IE with no Addons - does this work better?

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - tab click on restore, and then click Reset - apply / OK

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Security - reset all Zones by default level - apply / OK

    not better?

Close IE and try again IE or IE with no Addons

IE - tools - manage Addons (for sure disable SSV2 if it is there, it is no longer necessary but Java always install
"(and it causes problems - you never update Java to go back in and turn it off again)." Search for other possible problems.

Windows Defender - tools - software explore - look for problems with programs that do not look right. Permit
are usually OK and "unauthorized" are not always bad. If in doubt about a program to ask about it here.

Could be that a BHO - BHOremover - free - standalone program, needs no installation, download and run - not all
are bad, but some can cause your question. (Toolbars are BHO)
    http://securityxploded.com/bhoremover.php

    Startup programs
    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/79612-startup-programs-enable-disable.html

Also get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only. If you ever suspect malware, and it would be
unusual with Prevx market except for an occasional cookie of low level (not a big deal), update it, then
    run as a scanner.

    http://www.Malwarebytes.org/

    I would add prevx so.

Prevx - Home - small, fast, exceptional CLOUD free protection, working with other security programs. It comes

  • Cannot burn DVD in Windows DVD Maker

    Hello

I'm burning a couple of files wmv to a DVD. The two files together last about 5 minutes on a 120 minute DVD - RW. When I open Windows DVD Maker and import the two files, DVD Maker goes through the burning process, but towards the end DVD Maker informs me that he cannot finish burning "an error has occurred." It does not say what error or what caused it. DVD Maker itself I unchecked the filters in 'compatibility '; in the Windows Event Viewer, I can see the following:

DVD Maker returned an error code (0xC00D002F) when burning the disc.

Dvd creation engine returned an error (-1072889809) code when burning the disc.

When I check the events and the center of Microsoft's messages for the two error messages, I 'been found no results for your query.

How could I solve this problem please?

    Hello I volunteer

Thanks a lot for your answer and the link of the encoder.

I got the encoder to work and 15 tracks (wmv) audio/video tracks I wanted to burn it to a DVD using DVD Maker, some 12 are corrupt. I don't know how they have corrupted or why, but there you are.

The strange thing is that if I use another burning program, I can play tracks perfectly - a drawback is that with other software, you can not burn the tracks in the order you want (they appear on the final DVD burned by alphabetical order), whereas the DVD Maker, you can organize tracks by using the Up/arrow keys.

I have not tried to burn on a DVD so I'll post back.

    Thanks again.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A100. I'm trying to burn a DVD using Microsoft Windows DVD Maker and a Sony DVD - RW. The laptop has a carpet * a DVD-RAM UJ-850 s ATA device.

When I try to burn a DVD, a progress bar appears and is about 2% before the hanging.

I also tried to format the DVD first, and which is progressing well before coming up with an error message saying that the drive could not be formatted.

Anyone got any ideas? Am I missing something completely obvious?

    Hello

the following things could probably help you with your problem:

-> control if a new BIOS for your machine and a new FIRMWARE update for your DVD player are available. Update the BIOS and the player firnware
-> use another applications burning like Nero, CDBurnerXP or other thing that is usually know work well with almost all DVD - RW readers out there
-> use a DIFFERENT brands of DVD media because the carpet * a readers are really picky

If all these steps fail, then it is possible that your drive is defective and must be replaced.

    See you soon
