Windows Easy Transfer has not transferred any Windows Mail in Vista for Win7

WET worked great for the migration of a Vista system to a Win7 system, except that my old stuff Windows Mail has not been transferred.  Is there an option simple copy/paste to move my email folders and content to Live Mail 2011?

    Never mind.  I found them.  They were the Windows.old folder on the C: drive.

    Then Windows easy transfer saved you a lot of grief. WET does not work with the data Outlook.
    If you still have access to the old machine, find the pst file (named Outlook.pst usually and it is a hidden file) and copy it with closed Outlook.

    There are outdated information on some of these pages, specifically with regard to Outlook 2003 and 2007.

    The main points to note:
    1. do NOT use the import/export feature to move Outlook data from one version to the other - all you have to do is to copy the PST, with closed Outlook.

    2. do NOT paste paste the copied into the default location - pst file in your Documents folder (for example) and then do file-open-Outlook Outlook data file.

    You can find the entry menu import into the Manager of bookmarks (library)

    During the installation of Firefox, I chose the option to import bookmarks, cookies, history, settings of Explorer. I noticed that there was a small problem, while this part of the installation was going on, and of course, my favorites were not there when Firefox finished installing. I decided to try to uninstall and reinstall Firefox. Always favorite no. I guess I can import them, but what about cookies. I'll be in trouble if any of my cookies are there either.

    If you have problems with importing IE bookmarks in Firefox, then export favorites in Internet Explorer to a HTML file and import this file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.

    Like that you also preserve any sort you did in Internet Explorer with favorites.

    • Export Favorites in Internet Explorer to a file (bookmarks.html) HTML: file > import and export
    • Import the HTML file in Firefox: bookmarks > show all bookmarks > import and backup > import HTML: from a file

    Step 1:

    You can open the administrator and verify if you can open Windows Easy Transfer correctly.

    You can even check if you face the same question in the user account different or new user account.  You can create a new user account on your computer, and then check.

    Step 2:

    An analysis of the SFC and audit-
    a. click Start, click programs, on Accessoriesprincipally made, right click guestand then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow
    b. type the following command and press ENTER:
    sfc/scannow
    A message appears indicating that "the system scan will start. Be patient because the scan can take some time.
    c. If all files require a SFC replace will replace them. You may be asked to insert your Win7 DVD for this process to continue.
    d. If everything is correct you should, after the scan, see the following message "resource protection Windows not found any breach of integrity".
    e. once the scan is finished, close the command prompt window, restart the computer and check.

    I'm trying to use transfer to get all my stuff from my old PC running XP to my new windows 7 PC. Whenever I have it try I get a box on the old xp pc that says: try to connect and that's it. I tried 4 times.
    I see my and have access to my pc windows 7 from my xp pc but for some reason any simple transfer may not. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    You use Windows Easy Transfer to PC XP download from internet or you meet the PC Windows 7 create the program for PC XP? I saw that the having the PC Windows 7 create the WET can sometimes solve these problems of network.
    Also make sure that any firewalls or antivirus you have installed are disabled.

    I replaced the drive in my Dell d830.  I gathered my files on the external hard drive.  When I run easy transfer on "new computer", it does not recognize the file in the box go.  I can see it on the disk, but it does not load.  Help?

    No, easy transfer does not have XP to XP.

    Is the old hard drive available and functional?

    Have you ever used Windows Easy Transfer to copy the files to your external drive?

    If you used easy transfer AND your original drive is no longer available (or dead), you may be able to recover the data, but there is no guarantee.

    Microsoft technical support may be able to help--for a fee.  Alternatively, you can Google MigRecover Utility.  However, I understand that there are different versions of the file creates MIG Windows Easy Transfer, but this requires different versions of the tool (I think USMT4 is for the version of Windows 7 to WET and USMT3 for the version of Vista, but I don't know for you).

    PS Si the old drive is not actually dead, your best bet is probably to buy a USB or FireWire external drive box and copy the data directly.

    What you describe, it seems that you would need to upload images from your hard drive on your computer to Revel.
