Windows Explorer will not see a preview of the png files

When I click on View, Extra large icons, large icons, medium icons or small icons to display an overview of png images, a generic picture but not the image itself. JPG files preview very well. Why png files will not display a preview?

I've solved this one. The downloaded folder of icons was obviously some kind of folder zipped; The name was Free-Icons-Shimmer-01-Creative-Freedom.zip. I created a new folder, copied and pasted all the images of the original file to the new file and properly display thumbnails. I have no idea why. Just happy it worked.

    Hello

I know this question has been answered before, but I tried the suggested solutions and it doesn't seem to work. I used the MicrosoftFixIt tool to find any bad codecs and none came. I clicked on one of the links to download an older version of NVIDIA, as suggested, but I'll be honest, I have no idea what I'm doing.

All I want to do is to edit videos on Movie Maker, but I can't because I don't see what I'm doing. Even if I just put a picture, nothing is displayed in the Preview on the left area!

When I export the video she plays very well because I have strung together some pictures and a few videos with a mp3 file on the top and everything I played correctly once it had been exported.

  • After you install a second WD 1 TB my book drive, Windows Explorer does not see the new drive.

    Original title: Signature Collision?

I'm having hard to the installation of a second external drive. I use Windows 7 Ultimate RC. There was a WD 1 TB drive My Book already installed - healthy and works very well. The problem occurred after installing a second WD 1 TB my book reader. I followed all the instructions, pluuging the drive to a USB hub. Windows found the disk, installed drivers and reported the new drive ready for use.

Windows Explorer does not see the new drive. Devices and printers shows 2 external drives from WD. Disk Management shows as 2 drives, but the second disk is offline because of a 'Signature' Collision

Each player works very well if it's the only drive plugged in. "Eject My Book" does not work because a program (or more) are to use the player in the background (Windows or Norton).

I installed the latest firmware and I'm still having this problem. I've been emailing WD with this problem and they are running out of ideas.

    Can anyone help?

  • Windows Vista will not see Seagate 320 internal drive to format

I bought a 320GB Seagate (7200 RPM) opportunity and I'm trying to install Vista on it. The computer BIOS sees the drive, but loading Vista it does not show the HD as an external drive and ask drivers for it. The disk has been previously formatted for Mac.

Try to use SeaTools for Windows.  See also: Seagate Installation Assistance

Please note that the hard drive needs to be internally mounted inside the computer because Windows Vista will not install on an external hard drive.

  • Windows 7 will not install, it cannot find the drivers

I have a Dell Dimension XPS Gen 2. I am trying to install Windows 7 Home Premium on a new SATA drive. Before installing, I formatted the hard disk by using Windows XP (running on another HDD SATA). The two SATA drives are connected directly to the motherboard.

I install from a flash drive, for reasons I will explain below. The installer comes to the point where it asks if you want to perform a custom installation or upgrade. I select custom installation, and the next screen says it can't find drivers and guests to find the drivers. Because I can't provide the necessary drivers, the installation does not further.

I could copy the drivers to the flash drive, if I knew what files they were. The drivers from the site Web of Dell's downloadable apparently only as a .exe file that you run to install drivers, in order to get the individual driver files is problematic.

Previously, I tried to install Windows 7 from the original XP disc. This is 'successful', apparently because it finds the drivers what he needed on the XP disc. But then I couldn't boot Win7 except the XP disc was running. On this basis, I suppose that the pilots were located on the XP disc but not copied on the Win7 disk during installation, so that if I try to boot from the Windows 7 disc and the XP disk was not running, Win7 can not find the drivers and does not start.

That's why I tried to install from the flash drive... so the new facility would be not dependent on disk XP to start. But now, as I say, the Windows 7 install program stalls at the prompt for drivers.

You can use some advice. Thank you.

Downloaded an older version of the Win 7/Vistadrivers and it seems stable so far.

  • Windows Explorer ' does not ' when we R-click the item in the files pane

Now here's a strange: for a few months my Windows Explorer has been "stoppage of work" and "restart" (except that it isn't) in two circumstances. (1) right click on an item in the pane of the files (except a right-click 'Computer', that works to display a context menu.) (2) selection of a file in the files pane, and access to the menu 'File' in the menu bar, either by clicking on it or by using the ALT, then F keyboard shortcut sequence.

I was about to have Windows reinstalled by my dealer to fix this problem, but since it would involve further tedious re-installing all my applications etc. I thought that I would try to fix it myself.

I found that the problem disappears once I delete an icon on desktop - any icon will do. So I've set up a collection of "sacrificial icons" on the desktop for this purpose. Should be deleted after each new startup.

    Anyone got an explanation?

Thank you. This is a useful tip for general use which can be useful in the future, but you will enjoy the simple trick to delete a desktop icon makes my Windows Explorer works for almost no time and effort, and because I don't have the time to spend creating a user profile (with no guarantee that it will actually fix it) since I am very busy and you want to just my computer to work for me I will continue with my little trick.

  • My windows Explorer will not work. The APP CRASH is explorer.exe

The APP CRASH is explorer.exe. I can't reach all the functions on the start menu, or the screen. When this has happened, I got the internet browser, and I have no problem there. I downloaded a system check and verification of the register, but my computer only allows me enough time to launch. Close, but no. My McAfee system has been running for an hour, is 73% completed and shows no problem. I don't have my operating system CD, as wonderful HP and compaq have backup loaded on the HD to guess what? I can't access it? Any suggestions?
