  • Windows Live Mail always open maximized

Since the last windows "updates", my Windows Live Mail emails open always maximized.  The properties say she's ready to open 'Normal '.  No amount of resizing stop him open as maximised, and it won't "restore down".

God, I hope that the NEXT update will be THIS DIFFICULT!

Have I mentioned that I hate the Windows updates?

You say that your emails open enlarged, so it looks that you are talking about specific individual messages you open.  But then, you also mention the shortcut properties.

The properties of the shortcut control only the departure of the entire Windows Live Mail program.  It does not influence the size of individual emails, you double-click more late in the inside of the program.

If you want than to not open maximized, follow these steps:

    1. Open any message by double-clicking
    2. Restore it down
    3. Although it is smaller, close it.

Test to see if double-clicking again top now opens it to the small size.

  • On Windows Live Mail when I open an email and there is a link, the link does not open, I get an error message on each email that I try clicking on located in every email that has a link.

Attached are 2 different links to 2 different emails.

1 Windows cannot trouver...'/ / www.netflix.com/ recommendations House? Inktrk = EMP & g = FA8B405D8CAE5166C5C4D... Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again.
    2 Windows cannot find... "missouriquilt.co.us1.List-manage.com/track/click?u=bee69e9bfcd571aa64451a112&id=3...
Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.
It's only 2 emails with links that are supposed to allow me to click and then lead me to their site. Any email I open that has a link, I get a similar error message with the name of a company or the link, I try to open. I have no idea how I got it or how to get rid of. Would appreciate any help you can give me.
    Thank you

    2. Select your e-mail bellsouth.net under mail account, and then click the Properties button.

    3. in the Properties window, select the servers tab and check the box my server requires authentication , under outgoing mail server.  Then click on the settings box.

    Kind regards.

  • XP SP3, and Windows Live Mail, when I receive a file .htm as an attachment to an e-mail, it's a file 'blocked '. How can I prevent this from happening.

Win XP SP3 and Windows Live Mail. I get emails from my office surveillance video. The e-mail has an attachment '.htm '. When I double click the file .htm in the email, it starts Internet Explorer 8 and must upload a short video clip and display it. The fly in the soup seems to be the fact that the .htm file is "locked".

He can be unlocked by saving it to disk and using Windows Explorer to display its properties, and then click the button "Unblock" - but it's just a "work around".

From what I read on Microsoft sites, the .htm files are not considered to be dangerous - or are? So why are they blocked? And how do I prevent it?

    I listen carefully!

Thank you very much Halima, maybe you helped me to focus, in any case I eventually find a switch in Windows Live Mail, which was causing my pain.

In Windows Live Mail, go to TOOLS-online the SECURITY OPTIONS-online SECURITY => and UNCHECK the line "do not allow opening or saving attachments that could contain a virus.

Problem solved - thank you for your time and effort.

  • Windows Live Mail - starts OK on initialize to top every day but disappears later in the day.

Running Windows Vista Home (Service Pack 2).  Using Windows Live Mail.

Normal daily start up, once online I have no problem running Live Mail.  I check for emails, and once completed, I normally have to close the program.  Later in the day, when I want to check for other emails, even once is not a problem.

However and on a random basis, there comes a time when I try to load Live Mail but it does not load.  Initially, the hourglass turns on and the light disc shows some activity, but Live Mail starts it.

If I do a Ctrl + Alt + Delete to check what programs are running, it shows Live Mail.

The only resolution I've found is to re - start the PC.  The model then rehearsals sometimes, but not always.

    Clues or fixes out there?

The next time you check the status in the Task Manager, when you find Windows Live Mail click the switch button to see if that move you to the program and he opened for you.

If it does not, in the Task Manager and then click Windows Live Mail and click on end task this is confirmed.  Once he is gone (give it some time), open another window, and then try to connect again.  It cannot solve the problem, but it's better than the re-start (if it works).

I would like to know if one of these workarounds help solutions.

If not, please transfer your question in Forum Windows Live Mail to: http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop where experts in this program will be happy to help you.

  • Windows Live Mail a few errors have occurred during the processing of the task. Please see the list of errors below for more details.

How is it, I always get this message every time I check my e-mail. On the one hand there are no errors below. Is there a way that this error can be fixed? If so, how?

Windows Live Mail has its own support forums at the Windows Live Solution Center . Ask any question you may have in any of the forums on the right side of the this page. You will probably be asked to give your version of WLMail and Windows so that the answer may be more accurate. In WLMail to find your version of the software, a press on ALT - H. If it doesn't show you the version and the build number, press on escape to two times, and then Alt - F B.
It would be useful to know a little more about the problem. Do all tasks in case of failure, or perhaps only the first on the list? Each time I check my e-mail address means whenever you click send/receive (or Sync, according to version)? Or maybe only every time a scheduled send/receive takes place?
There is a bug in WLMail 2011 described by Peter.R shortly after he was released a year ago: a shipment / automatic reception fails on behalf of the city in the first place the mail in the task list if the include this account when checking for new messages is selected for a news account. To work around it, right-click on the name of the news account in the folders pane, select Properties and uncheck the option on the general tab, delete the account can make things worse.
