But - MOST important - I've learned about Live Movie Maker - an improvement on the old version of WMM. WMM is not .mov files that produce new cameras. Only the .avi. I went to download the pgm MM Live and he says that Win 7 is required! There are some XPs MILLION out there and it is a pgm this cool. Any possibility there's far more that if I can use the .mov files without having to convert all of them to .avi. Or is it possible that Microsoft will be kind to us and give us live MM under Windows Essentials for XP?

  Windows Live Essentials for XP contains no Windows Live Movie Maker, as you know. We are not aware of what the developers have in mind. However, because Windows XP is a ten year old operating system, I doubt there is much chance it will be retro-compatible with Windows XP.
