Windows Mail problem... emails disappear

whenever I click on and read an email, then email out and come back, the email I had been displayed disappears!  In addition, they are all marked as "unread" again when I return.  This started just past a few days ago and continues to do so.  I change all the settings at all.  no idea what is the problem?

no idea why the messages are deleted

Still, you didn't say if you did:

View | Current view. Show all Messages is checked and nothing else?

However, this is not the reason for the message becomes marked unread.

What is a POP3 account? I suggest that you remove the account and then compact and repair the database with this tool. Then add the account back.

  • Download Windows Mail problem

During my good computer for the service, I have created an e-mail account on a Toshiba laptop under Vista Home and Windows Mail, what email client I've ever used before.  I have a slow connection, so I normally go to the site of the ISP and organize email before downloading - delete spam and move large in a folder messages until I can visit a library with a fast connection.  But this computer sometimes starts download of e-mails before I give "approval".  Today, a great message started download in one window, while I was moving it in the large file on ISP in another window. Now I have the progress bar that claims to be download this message.  It is frozen and I can't get rid of it.

I tried the email of closing client and reopening without success.  I think that if I turned off and restart, I can fix it, but where is there a setting in Win Mail to let me decide whether to download and so prevent this problem in the first place?  Thank you.

Tools | Options | In general. Uncheck: Send & receive messages at startup and check for messages every X minutes.

WinMail close and open and I hope that the problem will be resolved. If this isn't the case, you must delete the message from the Inbox on the server.

  • Windows mail problem receiving emails - error 0x800CCC0F

I have Windows mail 6.0.6000.16386 v..  For some time now, it has become progressively more reluctant to receive emails, to the point at which it now 'expires' leaving me with error 0x800CCC0F.  I can send emails without any problem, but need to use Webmail to retrieve messages.  Any ideas?  Bob.

Try to compact and repair the database of WinMail (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).  Attention also to the antivirus interference that may lead to problems (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3).  You can also try to remove your e-mail account, then closing and reopening WinMail and add it again.  Sometimes, the parameters for a given account are 'lost' and which solves the problem.

You can also check to see if a webmail access works very well, if you have this ability.

  • Windows Mail problem with setting up a new email address

I have a Gateway with Windows Vista Home Premium laptop. I have an email account already set up in Windows Mail that works very well. I try to add another e-mail account. In windows Mail I click Tools, accounts and then select Add. then the email account selected. I went and set up the pop server and smtp server correctly, but for some reason I can't access this email account. I have double and even triple to verify the password. I must be overlooking something, but I just can't understand what it is. Can someone help me please. I can't really find any reason why it does not work. I'm not a newbie and know my way around the computer well enough. But I am confused.

    Charter.NET parameters are real simple...

  • Windows Mail problem - getting repeated email sent with new e-mail

I have windows mail, and something happened with the mail I had to keep getting seen previously and deleted email sent back to me with new messages every time I click on SEND/RECEIVE Mail.  So, I have to go back through repeated messages and delete.  Once I discovered removal and new messages, then adds it to the list of mail when I push SEND and RECEIVE mail and receive it again with the other 200 more messages already read.  Help, please!

Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced - uncheck: leave a copy of messages on the server.

Temporarily disable in tools | Options | General:

Send and receive at startup and search for messages every XX minutes.

Reboot, and do a manual send/receive. Don't touch anything until the end of the download of the message.

Connect to your server Webmail site. It shows all messages that you have already downloaded? If this is the case, remove them. If not, re-check: send and receive at startup and search for messages every XX minutes but place it for no less than 10 minutes. If a download ends never before the next scheduled arrival, messages will start to come again.

  • Windows mail Inbox messages disappeared

I have a friend who has vista business os and is using windows mail. She lost him all the messages in his Inbox. There is here an Inbox, but there only the most recent messages. no idea as to what happened to the other messages? some of them were quite important, and that is why it does not delete them. where could they have? I do not use windows mail, I use outlook express and I'm not sure what to tell him to do.
Thanks for any help... sue city sioux

If she is using an Anti Virus application, disable or uninstall the e-mail scanner, it is probably the cause.  Windows Mail is extremely sensitive to the scanners by email and mail that disappears is a common symptom of a missing thug of e-mail scanner.

  • Display column 'Account' Windows Mail problem

I have two separate email in Windows Mail accounts and both can send/receive properly. I'd like the column 'Account' to show what email address was used to send messages in my Inbox. I made the account visible in the "Inbox" view column, but when messages are received this column displays only the account information for a fraction of a second, then it disappears leaving a white. Very rarely account information will remain displayed for a message but very little. Any suggestions?

I would not even bother with the view account. I have three accounts and I separate them as they come.

First, create a local folder to be used as a second Inbox and name it anything you want.  Use it to one of the accounts, as well as the default Inbox for the other.

    Then create a message rule.

Where the message comes from the specified account.
Move it to the specified folder & stop processing more rules.
Click: specified account and enter the account name for the second Inbox.
Click: specified folder and select the folder that you created.
    Name the rule.

Move the rule to the top of the list of rules, and incoming messages will be separated into their respective folders.

  • Windows mail problem

Hello guys. I have windows vista Home premium 32-bit, such as Kaspersky Internet Security antivirus. I do not know "why windows mail does not open.
I wrote: "cannot open windows mail because of a software restriction policy. For more information, contact the system administrator". Can you help me? I have HP Pavilion a6255.it desktop computer. Help

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the HP Support forum.

Read this post on the support of Microsoft Answers forum:

If all goes well, the proposed registry tweak would do the trick.

If you need a software email client for home or small office use, I also recommend that you consult Mozilla's Thunderbird:

  • Display in Windows Mail problem

    Original title: Outlook.com

Title changed to "Display in WLM problem."

Although he can be independent, when I logged on this AM, I had IE 9 privacy statement. When I open Windows Mail, lack of it for the first time ever was, on the far left of the screen, the designations for what I watch one, that is, "Inbox", "writes," "Sent", etc. I have them want to come back and can not find directions to do so. I'm not sure that this question does not belong to Outlook.com, which I was surprised to see it as a category instead of Windows Mail. Outlook.com, I copied the following: "you can connect Windows Mail for Windows Vista to your e-mail account using POP3 or IMAP4 connectivity. I have POP3. Anyone know what's happened and how do I get my list of categories of messages to display on my screen again? Thank you.

    Kay,

iFiredog is correct. I don't have Windows Live Mail. I have 'Windows Mail'. This is the Version 6.0.6000.16386 (vista_rtm.061101 - 2205). I can't find the tool captures to take a screenshot. While I was looking for it, I came across an icon at the far right of them above my Windows Mail. It is a rectangle (or square?) anything other than straight lines, showing one after the other on the icon. I clicked it. Bingo-test - files in my Windows Mail reappeared on the left side of my Panel. So, the problem seems to be resolved, unless when I go back to Windows Mail, list of folders is part once again! I have no idea how I lost it.  As to move my viewing of Windows Mail to the right with the arrow (on each side of the screen), I had tried more than once. The arrow on the left side of my screen was not working. He has nothing. The arrow on the right side did expand the display area to include plenty of empty space, that I have on the right. However, I leave here! Thank you for your help, even if she didn't direct me to a solution, because I fell on my own.  Libbiss

I'm using windows mail and when I open an email and then delete the following email opens automatically.  How can I stop this?

    Hi curlsgalore

Option to open new messages automatically is this by design and cannot be changed directly. But as a solution, you can try to change the display settings for Windows Mail. Check out the links to change the display in Windows Mail settings - below

Find out if your Internet Explorer has all its faults:

If not, click on 'Choose defaults for this program' > tick on Select All > save
