  Go to tools, accounts, select the account e-mail, properties, servers.

  Make sure that 'Connect with password' is not selected.

  If you use Windows Mail in Vista, then go to tools | Options | Security and check the box warn if other applications send by mail like you.  I think, however, that your email address is being spoofed by another infected machine and send e-mails disguised coming from you.  There is not much you can do about it.

  Make sure that you machine is not infected by a virus scan (for example www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/) and search for malware (www.malwarebytes.org). But it may be that you or your machine that is responsible for sending spam that appears to come from your hand.

• Windows Mail change my email address on response

  I use windows mail on a vista operating system.
  I have no problem someone sent an email to my email address.
  The problem occurs when this person knocks 'response' to my email.
  The system does not use the same email address for the response but subtly changes the address by adding a 't' in the name of the user to the address section.
  Fortunately, the new address is not a valid one, and the person who tried to send me a response receives an error message that their message has not been sent.
  I found the new address corrupted on my 'contacts' and I tried to remove and restore sound my correct address in my business card.
  I also tried leaving the address corrupted on my contact card, but doing just the default.
  Yet when you hit the response it creates my name with the address corrupt, despite this not existing address in my contacts and even when I leave it as default address not on my contact card.
  Can anyone else has had this problem?
  Any advice at all would be appreciated.

  Tools | Accounts | This email account | Properties | In general. If there is an address in the reply-to address field, delete it.

  I have vista home premium 32 bit on my laptop and I use Windows Mail and I'm having a problem. If a person of my company sends me it comes in fine. When I answer, however, they receive a mess of data at the top of the answer of the message that seems to give them all sorts of information on my laptop and computer-info. If I generate a new email to anyone in my company, they receive those fine. THUS, it seems that you answer is the question.

  Any help out there?  How can I remove these unwanted responses data (and transfers as well by the way)?

  The problem has been resolved by validating my account in Windows Mail.  I have no idea why it was right and necessary, as I had used it for 2 years, it started to arrive there shortly, but since there were no problems reported so that seems to have solved the problem.  I'm sorry that I can not credit anyone with the answer because no one has suggested this solution and I found on yahoo and tried and it seems to have done the trick.

  Thanks for trying to help.  Still, I'll post here if I have any other questions or problems.

  I have Windows mail 6.0.6000.16386 v..  For some time now, it has become progressively more reluctant to receive emails, to the point at which it now 'expires' leaving me with error 0x800CCC0F.  I can send emails without any problem, but need to use Webmail to retrieve messages.  Any ideas?  Bob.

  Try to compact and repair the database of WinMail (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).  Attention also to the antivirus interference that may lead to problems (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3).  You can also try to remove your e-mail account, then closing and reopening WinMail and add it again.  Sometimes, the parameters for a given account are 'lost' and which solves the problem.

  You can also check to see if a webmail access works very well, if you have this ability.

  Several problems related to Windows Mail. Help please.

  I don't know if this is the right forum or not, since I can't find one for Windows Mail. Here's my problem; yesterday, on 23 April, I opened my Windows Mail program and click "receive all". The box that indicates the number of loading messages showed he was near 5 000 messages. Messages that had been received since a month been duplicated as well as new messages. At the main e-mail address comes now twice while messages related to the second email address comes about.   I use Windows Mail Vista and more than 20 accounts are set up for a variety of areas. One of my areas has 3 addresses - everything I have Setup email in Windows Mail. All these 3 E-mail addresses share the same incoming and outgoing mail server and are administered using cPanel on a shared hosting environment. For the first two email addresses that I have set up for this area very well work (with "include this account when checking mail or synchronizing" ticked), however, when the third e-mail address has the checkbox "Include this account when checking mail or synchronizing" checked as I get a copy of my email inbox. If I uncheck the box I receive a copy (which is what I would like to receive). However, I'm afraid, to leave it off because it is a very important address and I fear he will cease to broadcast my posts if the checkbox is not clicked. When checking e-mail via cPanel account I shows that only one (not two) of the emails I get. I deleted the account in Windows Mail, then rebuilt - still the same problem occurs. I do not understand why it is product - any ideas as to why it occurs?

  We see this behavior if you have two copies of the same account.  Check tools | Accounts and make sure that you have not listed twice inadvertently.  It could also be due to a problem in the database (where the tallies are stored), so try to compact and repair the database and see if that fixes the problem (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).

  Your password it the same as you would use if you want to check your email on the site of the ATT Uverse. If you don't remember that, call them. They know what is your PW.

  If you do not use Windows Mail, why don't you set up an account there? He did not by himself. If you do not want it: tools | Accounts and delete the account.

  O do you have duplicated in windows mail account?

  You can try the steps below.

  1 Note the account settings and then delete the account.

  There is a good guide on how to backup your Windows Mail emails on the link below.  This works for Vista with Windows Mail and Windows 7 with Windows Live Mail.

  Save the file exported in the media of your choice.
