Windows Media Player 11 video playback problems

.wmv files play only audio, no video.  Previously worked well.  Suspect Windows update may have caused the change.

Hi Grande2000,

This can happen to cause some third-party media playing software installed on the computer, if you have one of these programs installed on the computer, you can uninstall it and see if the problem is resolved.

This can also occur if the driver for the graphics card on the computer is damaged or needs an update.

I suggest you uninstall the graphics driver that is present on the computer and then install the latest driver for graphic map of the manufacturer's Web site and check if it works very well.

How do I uninstall the driver of graphics card on the machine

1. click on Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click System.
2. click the tab hardware , and then click Device Manager.
NOTE: If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click continue.
3. click on to expandnetwork adapters.
4. under network adapters, double-click the entry for your network adapters, and then click driver .
5. click on Uninstall
6. follow the wizard to uninstall to uninstall the network adapter driver.

Updated a hardware driver that is not working properly
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work correctly

Once you have uninstall the driver from the computer graphics card later, download and install the last update of readers for the graphics card by visiting the manufacturer of the card and see if the problem is resolved.

I hope this helps!

  • I get a message "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem" when I browse me videos.

When I browse my library of videos in Windows Media Player 11 on Windows XP SP3, I got a message "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem and needs to close." The message does not appear immediately, but after about 5 seconds browsing my library of videos. The details of the error are:
    AppName: wmplayer.exe AppVer: ModName 11.0.5721.5145: deinterlace.ax
    ModVer: 1.0.1.0 Offset: 00001cba

Someone just tell me how to solve the problem. Apparently, some corrupt videos caused Windows Media Player to plant as soon as thumbnails of the videos have been read. I quickly changed to a non-thumbnail view, so the error would not appear (it appears only when you try to load the photos), then deleted corrupted videos. Thanks for the help, if.

  • Windows Media Player has encountered a problem...

"Windows Media Player has encountered a problem during the synchronization of the file to the device. For any additional help click web help. »

This is the last error I get. Web site of Microsoft, and then said: you received the C00D1236 error message when you use Windows Media Player. Cannot sync the file.

So, what led up to it is:

1 problems with the device for a long time.

    2. Finally studied and found the latest firmware and update the device. This fixed some problems, which is excellent, but caused worse problems.

    3. I was getting: "Windows Media Player cannot access the file. The file may be in use, you won't have access to the computer on which the file is stored, or your proxy settings are may not be incorrect. "on several random files. He could do and then if I deleted everything and tried again, it could do with different files. He took too long between files during synchronization. So, I found this post: http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/board/message?board.id=clip&message.id=18501&query.id=12003#M18501 and formatted with Windows Media Player. (I've now formatted every way possible, I think.) Of course, we fixed it. Problem files synchronized immediately, but then almost all my other files could not synchronize with the most recent error.

    A. in addition, the playlist does not work. Even if I get the playlist on the device, there is no songs in there. Songs/podcasts are only available through other classifications.

    B. After you have installed the program to update the firmware, there is now a remnant TSR who dies when I plug my video. "Universal firmware updater for Sandisk Sansa MP3 players has stopped working". Can I disable or uninstall this program, but it's just another problem. I am running Vista with all latest patches.

Any help? You will be able to synchronize all files and playlists will work well.

AHA! I think that I thought about it. I deleted all files in the Cache files of Player\Transcoded of AppData\Local\Microsoft\Media and now everything is sync again.

He always does this weird thing once again. When the screen is black and I'm listening to something, if I hit the ring of command, as for example, hit the screen do not necessarily come back. I guess I should start another thread for this. It seems that there are different features that work better or worse according to the USB mode. I didn't know there was such thing before this problem.

Recently, while ripping the cd to Windows Media Player 11 on XP Service Pack 3, I'm frequently getting the message "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem and needs to close."  It happens usually during the second or third disc.  I then close and reopen and am immediately able to rip the CD.  Sometimes the player will immediately be closed as soon as I click on "start rip."   Any ideas?

The same thing happens if you rip to MP3 or WMA?

Post here the technical details of the accident. Go to Start- run , type eventvwr.msc , and then press ENTER.

In Event Viewer, access to the application log and look for an error in the list, there should be two entries for the last crash. Double-click on these two events and copy/paste their description in your post.
