Windows Media Player 12 is missing from Windows 7

I installed windows 7 ultimate, but some how he never installed windows media player 12. I tried to go to the Microsoft site to see if I could download, but could not. Can someone tell me how to install it?

See http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/windows-media-player.

If you have version 11 you must have upgraded from Vista to version N of Ultimate and need the Media Feature Pack for upgrade to version 12.

    Hello

You can navigate to C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player and check if the wmplayer file is listed. If it is there, and then create a shortcut on the desktop or right-click on "wmplayer" and chose "Pin to start menu" and check if it helps.

I left the computer for about an hour and had left the open Windows Media Player.  When I came back to the computer and went to get back to my music, I got a message saying there were some files on C:\ which could not be played, I wanted to remove them.  Well, I assumed that this meant MP3 which did not work properly or that have been corrupted, so I clicked Yes.  But as I looked for a second, I realized that the only thing being deleted was JPG files.  Idk now if he would only deleted their WMP or my computer everything.  And I don't know what it was delete picture wise.  I checked my recycling bin and there's nothing in it, so now im sitting here worrying whether I lost pictures continuously and if so which, or if they were removed ONLY Windows Media Player.  If anyone knows what I can do to see or know the answer, I would appreciate it so very strongly your help as im sitting here worrying my head off on that because I have tons of pictures on my computer needed.

  • The Windows Media Player library is missing in Windows XP

My Windows Media Player library has disappeared and I can't recover my music.  Please notify.

What version of WMP are you using?

You still see your music files in Windows Explorer? What is the file type (or types) of these files (MP3, WMA; (WAV)?

This could be caused by a corrupted media library. To reset the library, follow the instructions for your version of WMP and Windows at http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#medialibrary. Note the reset of the library will make you lose all the counts to play and possibly ratings too.

    Hi Kristylundahl,

You can use Windows easy transfer to transfer files and settings from one computer to the other. There is no way to transfer just the playlist of media
settings to another computer. With the help of windows easy transfer, you can move your music, playlists, and album art files to another computer.

  • No sound device installed does my Media Player. No sound from speakers, CD, test of speaker but the drivers for Conexant HD Audio

I pulled my hair out all afternoon. I had 6 "threats on my computer detected by Webroot. All the threats then deleted it ask to remove the last threat who said it... Audiolog.exe... Amd64-Microsoft-windows-audio-audiocore_31bf3856win32. UserAdded.

Since this has been deleted then removed there is no sound but no yellow triangles or problems in Device Manager, no device with Conexant High Def Smart Audio 221 problem. Undersound with device drivers not showing no problem

I use an old computer from 2008 with installed Win7 ACPIx64 pc. Amd64 Athlonx2 Duo processor. It is a laptop and for some reason, I thought it was Realtec as above but maybe not.   The laptop is a HP Pavillion dv6707 with Nvidia GeForce Go 7150 m.

After checking the Device Manager and don't check the drivers and no system sounds or the solution I did a system restore to 3 days earlier, which was not good like Webroot came up with all these infections / threats proves again and had to be removed. I checked the sound before I greeted Removeal for the 2nd time, NO NOISE, so I proceeded to the elimination of the threat.   No sound.

So I decided I want to restore my computer wayyy back I'd go with was back to 3/17 and today, it is 3/30 in the way. NO sound.

Help me please if anyone knows what I can do other than on my wiping system and start again because I do not have a backup.

Thanks for a response from anyone with ideas or the final solution but remember I tried all the easy stuff regular.

  • Impossible to get vlc media player to download videos from the net. Unable to play c.d. burned files with vlc multimedia/victory over them. Failed to get the same files on my alba mp3 player. Thank you.

I'm used to be able to download videos on the web using flv/vlc.  With my previous laptop, with XP, there was a small rectangle under the screen that gave me this opportunity.  How can I install this option with my new version of XP?  Also, I will have played poorly burned CD on a drive C.D House/car with music media/vlc victory over them.  How do I overcome this?  Finally, similar obstacle with my mp3 player.  I downloaded several types of software that I fight to become familiar with options are so numerous that I find myself with a lot of Simian head scratches.  "virtually the intructions of braindead" guide please about your answers.  Thank you.

What format are the files on the cd that you tried to play on the radio? MP3 files or audio files?

And HOW burn you to CD?

You can not just copy and paste them on a cd.

Which site you want to go down the videos on the net? If his YouTube, using an addon, if you use firefox

CDburnerXP will allow you to make MP3 CDs and it's free.

  • Windows Media Player is missing in Set Program Access and Computer Defaults

I recently discovered that when I wanted to install a default media player, Windows Media Player was absent from "Default programs". When I ran a search on this problem, I had the suggestion that I enable access to Windows Media Player with "Set Program Access and Computer Defaults." However, when I tried this, I found that Windows Media Player was also absent from "Set Program Access and Computer Defaults"! Now, what I want to know is, how to restore Windows Media Player in the list of Set Program Access and Computer Defaults?

Here's a hint: I do not have full access to Windows Media Player via the start menu.

    Hello, Brandon Taylor,.

We will try to reset the Windows Media Player by using the following steps:

Uninstalling and reinstalling Windows Media Player:
    Step 1.
    Uninstalling Windows Media Player:
    1. go to start and in the search type "Turn Windows willing or not.
    2. click on "Turn Windows features on or off".
    3. search for multimedia and uncheck the brand in the face of Windows Media Player.
    4 restart the computer

    Step 2.
    Reinstall Windows Media Player:
    1. go to start and in the search type "Turn Windows willing or not.
    2. click on "Turn Windows features on or off".
    3. find the multimedia functions and place a check mark in front of the Windows Media Player.
    4 restart the computer.

Now, go to default programs, Windows Media Player is displayed now?

If please reply back and let us know if this can help, or if you still need help.

  • Windows Media Player only recognizes the song titles when they are imported from itunes, imported in the form of wav files.

Hi, I imported/ripped music in form of wav files using WMP first and imported into itunes so that I can sync w / my ipod but itunes recognized only the first words of the music info (generally the number of song, title, ect). ITunes would allow me to change the info. So I decided to import my 7 000 more songs again using itunes, in the hope of finding the songs via watched folders to WMP. Well, that was the case, but he only identified the song number and the title. Now, I have a long list of other/unknown.

I can get information in WMP via "Find album information", one song at a time, but that would take forever. I imported 318 songs to date. I use wav files to maintain the quality of the sound.  Can someone tell me an easier way?

    Hello

You might have items in your library in Windows Media Player that are missing or incorrect information to the media, such as the titles of the songs, track numbers, artist names, album, or genre. Incorrect information can be added when you ripped the tracks from the CD or because you used another program to rip your CDs.

  • Windows Media Player in Windows 7

Windows Media player is completely missing in my Windows 7 Ultimate install!  In the Windows features turn on or turn off, there are no Windows Media Player.  When I try to run it with wmplayer on the command line, it is not found.  It is not in Program Files, it is not in Program Files (x 86).  I can't download from microsoft.com.  I can't find it on the installation disc.

    Ideas?
    Thank you!

Just figured it out. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate N, which is said to not have one installed (not true, that it is IE 8) Web browser or Windows Media Player (true).
