Windows media player 12 playcount keeps reseting

I use Media Player 12 for about a month to watch my movies and videos. I noticed after I had put in place an automatic selection for the video has not played that videos would never get counted or they get counted and the next time I opened the player the play would reset. I've noticed now that it constantly with no matter what weather playcount be pictures, video or audio. the playcount keeps reseting back to zero. I noticed that sometimes when I use Media Center to watch films that it will show the playcount in windows media player. I also Zune and iTuneson this computer, if this will help in any way with my problem.

  • Play the count resets in Windows Media Player

    Original title: play account

    Hello

Just to note, I saw the original post and the solution and it worked for me I posted, but got no answer.

It's here: when I use Windows Media Player (Windows 7), sometimes the game count is based. Listening to songs that have 5 or less seem to loose all play the County. Songs with more than 5 look seem five loose look. And there are a handful of random songs that retain some play account with less than 5 plays and the game number is reduced, but it still has County. Regardless of the type of music file (mp3 etc.).

No matter what I do on my computer when it resets except wen I close the media player. Sometimes it clears if I just close and reopen, sometimes it isn't. If I close and restart the computer, it may or may not wipe the game number. Once when my computer turns off by itself it wipe the County game files.

How can I keep my game count files?

    Thank you

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Follow the steps in the article.

Method 2: You can re-create the database of Windows Media Player and see if that fixes the problem. Follow these steps:

    (a) output Windows Media Player.

    (b) click Start, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player, and then click OK.

(c), select all the files in the folder and then click on Delete on the file menu.

    (b) click Start, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoftand then click OK.

    (c) select the folder Media Player and then click on Delete on the file menu.

Note: Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

  • How can I reset Windows Media Player to use songs on my external backup drive instead or in addition to the songs on my desktop with Windows Vista Edition basic hard drive family?

How can I reset the Player Windows Media in Windows Vista Home Basic to use the songs on my external backup drive instead of (or in addition to) the songs on my desktop hard drive?  Currently, the Media Player library indicates that the hard drive (C:\) is my only option of disks to use for sources of songs.

Basically, I want to have Media Player external drive for all the songs from research and build his library on this disc instead of on the C:\ drive.
My problem is that the songs are hogging too much space on my hard drive, so I want to move to my external drive to backup instead, but Media Player will not access it.  I saw an option in Media Player to add a song to a different drive to the library whenever I play a song of this player, but that would require me to play all the songs moved one at a time, which is not practical, and which would not solve my problem because Media Player could still be maintaining the library on my HDD to say.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you.

  • How to reset to the default settings for Windows Media Player

I ran the troubleshooting and now need to reset the Player multimedia default settings how to do this?

You can reset WMP the default settings in the Control Panel, programs, troubleshooting, WMP settings [WMP reset to default values]

If that did not solve the problem you're trying to fix then perform these two steps [they are the closest thing possible to uninstall then reinstall WMP & will actually provide a new installation of WMP]

1 unload WMP - Panel, programs and features, [left] turn on or off has Windows, multimedia features, clear box Windows Media Player, Yes, OK, restart the PC.

2 reload WMP - Panel, programs and features, [left] turn Windows features on or off, multimedia features, set the Windows Media Player box, Yes, OK, restart the PC.

  • upgrade the component of security for windows media player 12 tried all the proposed solutions always not able to reset or use drm

Hello all, I tried all the solutions advocated for the update to install drm security or for the upgrade button to not be gray, but I've tried every solution that includes the deletion, rename the file drm in the data of the program, the whole kit and the shebang and nothing worked or helped upgrade the drm from windows media player. I am subject to end here, because the upgrade of the drm is the only thing that will allow me to use my digital copies of movies that I bought and who have a digital copy of the film included with the purchase. Honestly, I don't know what else to do to reset the drm or use security update site Web component. I even tried to delete the drm registry entries and I get a failed to remove the error message. If someone could help me get the upgrade of the safety component, I would be very happy.

I realized what it was.  the upgrade of the windows security component is not I repeat is not compatible with the preview of consumer of windows 8.  I had to reinstall windows 7 to work.
