Windows Media Player resets the music library

In Windows Media player, everytime I got close and reopen the program, all my music is gone and he has to update all my music everywhere again.  This happens every time.  And if she keeps the songs, he puts two times each song in there.

I also have a problem when I sync music, it stops randomly for a few songs and I have to close WMP and reopen it to make it work.

the problem of the library!

EDIT: Forget, it works, I don't know how, but I think it was something in the residential group, but I'm not sure.

Windows Media Player and libraries contain no files, you just tell him
    where to find files.

For other users to access the same files, place them in a folder accessible

    Hi Maurice.

    1. What do you mean when you say no updated with the latest version for windows xp?

    2. what version of Windows media player is installed on the system?

    3. you receive this error code when updating the media player to a higher version or trying to open the media player?

Error code 80070005 means generally that you're not quite allowed to iperform the task.

You can open the administrator and check if you can update or open the media player.

If the problem persists, try the following steps:
    a. download and run Microsoft fix this article (the same article can be followed when you get access denied error during installation)
    b. Once you have run the hotfix, restart the computer.
    c. install Windows Media Player 11 and check the result.

Note: Running Microsoft Fix that it the article will reset the registry and the file permissions.

  • Frying or audio sound in Windows Media Player (especially for music files)

I think this virus recently, I had on my PC has done major damage to my Windows Media Player files and music. It was working fine this past Saturday, but lately, I experienced technical difficulties with the sound. Music files do not play correctly. The sound is very distorted and scratchy and it sounds almost as if I'm playing music on a tape that has been eaten or warped. Sounds like kind of when you play a portable CD or a cassette player that runs on a low or dead battery. Sounds almost like the files are at a standstill, and then they sound normal, but it is on and off. I can't explain this well because it's really hard to describe. I transferred a lot of my music files on my mp3 player. Even when I play samples of the song on iTunes and Wal-Mart, I get the same problem. I've removed MusicMatch JukeBox on my computer because it prohibits with Media Player.

I would like to get rid of the itching and the distortion on these music files. I don't know what I have to do. I printed a few instructions, but they are 15 pages long and a bit complicated to read sometimes. Do you know what problem I want to talk to? I don't know how it happened, but I bet that Media Player is not fully upgraded. I also tried the upgrade of WMP but that did not help either.

Is there a way to relieve this itching and distortion on Media Player? What exactly is the problem I have?

Sorry the long delay in his response (13/06/12)

No, I have not found a software solution.  My problem is "solved" by the hard drive crashing / failing & replacement, re - install etc.

However, I discover, before the crash, when I copied a part of the music on a USB stick and my iPod (led Seattle for THE & back and I wanted music - same 'bad') and was surprised when I plugged the USB on my car stereo - don't pop / does click - no idea why - at least the POPs & clicks were a "warning sign" of the crash of the hard drive.

When I got home was purchased 8 more of USB drives (fits on music 10 hrs each) saved the rest of my music files.  Most were commerical and had the CD (somewhere), but some of the music was 'live' recorded at a meeting of extended family, which has turned into a festival of the song of sorts.  I was the only one to whom he recorded (after a few changes shared with others).  A week later, the HD crashed (prior to installation).

Up to 12 USBs with music (and iPod) now and I'm not playing with CD while driving.

If you have any music, videos, photos, you do not have another copy somewhere... maybe think about making a backup pronto... just in case.

    Take care

Hi again-, I was simply responding to your other post on the album art.

What is the video attachment file extension? WMP does not play You Tube videos.

  • Windows Media Player - print the contents of the library

    Hi guys

I have a pretty extensive library of music stored on my PC and run on Windows Media Player 11.

My wife just bought a new MP3 player and I want to select these pieces she wants synched on his device.

I want to do it is have a print to track quotes as they appear in the WMP library so that it can go through and mark the tracks you want she wants. At the moment I can't find a way to do this other than by entering a series of screen shots and pasting in Word.

Any suggestions there or the will of the screenshot is the only way.

I want to avoid having us as well sitting there scroll down the list and choose the tracks as they appear.

  • Windows Media Player deletes the files in library

Several months previously, Windows Media Player has lost all the files that I had added to the library.  Only three files remain, in my view, are examples of files.  I can access my music going directly in the folder and opening the file from there, but I can't view the files in WMP.  I searched questions similar and tried the recommendations given here, but none have worked.

I tried to rebuild the library.

I tried to disable WMP and then the reactivation, and then when I open WMP, repopulated with all my music library! But after shutting down the computer and WMP the next day, I looked at the library fill and empty then back down into the three sample files.

I did a scan of SFC system today, and the only corrupt files that it found were related to Internet Explorer, that he fixed.

There is no new updates to Windows Installer.  I'm running Windows 7 Pro.  The computer is about 2 years old, and WMP worked well until a few months ago.

    Hello

The most common cause for problems of library WMP is 3rd party players trying to take exclusive
library control or have unusual storage settings. 3rd part antivirus/security programs can
    also be involved.

Think outside the box, because it is not likely to be an internal error of WMP.

  • Windows Media Player shows the library ghost

I am running Windows 7 64 bit. I deleted everything in my music library, but Windows Media Player shows that I have several albums there. When I try to play songs, WMP says that they aren't there. When I try to delete them, nothing happens.

Something seems to have gotten corrupted, but I have no idea how to solve this problem.

You can erase the Media Player library altogether by the removal of the database

    Output Media Player

Run services.msc and stop the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service

In the box start the search menu, enter %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft , and delete the folder Media Player.

Open Windows Media Player and it will recreate the database from scratch, so you will get the computer search for media files dialogue.
