Windows Media Player display incorrect or old titles of songs in the playlist

What should I do to get Windows Media Player to display the same names as the title of the songs stored on my computer.  I carefully added numbers on the beginnings of all the names of files in a folder (such as '01 -', '02 -', etc., less the quotes) so that they would be in the order I wanted to burn in.  Instead, only some of the songs are numbered.  The One song title is spelled "Untitled - 1", and I guarantee you he NEVER had this title, as I wrote.  When I add songs to the playlist of the folder on my data disc, for a fraction of a second, all the correct names are there, and then they change.  What the hell's up with that?  All I want is for the names of the files to display AS I WANT to BE AFFICHENT THEM, only not just some silly idea at Microsoft from what should be displayed.  In addition, the order that they are placed is almost always random and varies from one time to another.  Once when I added the twenty songs to the playlist that they were in good condition, although of course the names were wrong.  I checked the Options and could find nothing that would be implemented 'display the names of files in the folder.  Is this some sort of media internet update issue?

Hi David...

Re - reading the thread I think your best option is to burn the troublesome track on a CD (as mentioned in my previous post - you use a rewritable if possible) If for example the track in question is for example issue 05 titles 1-5 of disc Records and then remove the media * and Explorer libraries (but keep a backup elsewhere just in case) - give the tracks all the correct information and rip them off then back libraries.

If this still him - could put you up a snip of the incriminated 'details' track properties tab? Cheers - Ric.

* Important - deleted WMP (or select "remove from library and computer" when you are prompted in WMP)

  • Windows Media Player error message says that I don't have the media usage rights acquisition.

    Original title: Windows Media Player

Am not able to play music in Windows Media Player to the library after the transfer of music from another computer.  Error message says that I don't have the media usage rights acquisition.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community and we give the opportunity to help you.

    Cause of the error:

Windows Media Player uses Microsoft Digital Rights Management (DRM) to protect the rights of content owners who protect their music or video products in this manner. You must have usage rights required to play, burn, or sync protected content.

How to upgrade the DRM license?

By default, Windows Media Player will automatically attempt to acquire the rights of use in silence unless the server requires some input on your part (for example, registration or tax information). You can disable the automatic rights acquisition. In this case, you will be asked to obtain the rights for any new content that requires them. To prevent Windows Media Player from acquiring rights automatically, do the following:

    a. click on the arrow on the now playing tab, and then click Other Options.

    b. click on the Privacy tab, and clear the automatically check if protected files need to be refreshed check.

Please note that this setting affects not acquisition of rights of use of online stores.

    Original title: strange going ons

When I go to my music using windows Explorer, it shows a folder named unknown artists with 7 subfolders.

When I bring the windows media player, it displays only an album with an unknown artist.

When I open one of these subfolders, writing the name of the artist, but all the tracks have been listed as track 1, track 2, track... in the library, that I went to this artist's album. He entered all the information correctly. When I clicked open the location of the file that shows the location of the albums as one of the subfolders under unknow artist and all tracks as track 1...

so, how did we can list everything correctly in the library but point to incorrect information?

    Hello

What are the file format of the files shown in the subfolders of the library?

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: I suggest you follow these steps and check.

You can try to clear the database of Windows Media Player.

To do this, follow these steps:

    Step 1

    a. exit Windows Media Player.

    b. for Windows Vista: click Start, click run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player , and then click OK.

    c. Select all files in the folder, and then click delete on the file menu.

Note you don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

    d. restart Windows Media Player.

Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

    Step 2

If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:

    a. exit Windows Media Player.

    b. If you run Windows 7, click Start, click Run, type % LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft and then click OK.

    c. Select the folder Media Playerand then click delete on the file menu.

    d. restart Windows Media Player.

Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

Also note before performing the steps above, I suggest to save the songs and try the steps above.

    Method 2:

If the steps above do not resolve the problem, you can try to disable Windows Media player and then enable the feature that is as good as the uninstall and put it back. Follow the steps below to do the same.

To enable or disable the Window Media Player, follow these steps:

    a. click the Start button, select Control Panel, click programsand then click Windows turn on or off features. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    b. develop media features , uncheck the box next to the Media Player functionality to remove Media Player. Click OK and restart the computer.

    c. turn on the player again by selecting the check box next to the feature of Media Player.

Access the link below for more information on the steps above to turn off or on the features of Windows 7.

  • Why windows media player displays only the names of original files?

Windows Media Player only shows the original file names that can be confusing if I changed the name of a file. The name of the file (usually audio files) is correct in Windows Explorer, but in the component list of WMP, it's often the old file name. Why is this and what can I do about it? Advice would be appreciated. TA. Kevin.

What the file type of these music files (MP3, WMA, WAV...)?

WMP usually displays the title tags of the music file, which is independent of the file name. However, WMP always displays the current file name in the path column of the file, which can be activated by right clicking on a column header and select choose columns.

    Hello

You might have items in your library in Windows Media Player that are missing or incorrect information to the media, such as the titles of the songs, track numbers, artist names, album, or genre. Incorrect information can be added when you ripped the tracks from the CD or because you used another program to rip your CDs.
