Re: DVD drive hardware error - what is gravity?
Hello
I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A300-1PK, and even if I took good care of her, the DVD player seems to be broken.
Move the head with the drive laser top correctly, but the DVD does not seem to turn.
The DVD player is to be entirely changed, so practically irreparable, or is something that even if I could fix it in 2 minutes, knowing where to get them?
any useful comment is greatly appreciated. THX
Hello
Yes, you must replace the entire drive Dvd. how long it takes lets you replace the drive Dvd is according to the model of laptop. For my A500, in order to remove and replace the CD/DVD drive I have to disassemble the whole laptop.

No access to the DVD drive - 38 error code
Update Driver published 07/07/08 to 23:59 has been installed on my system as made by Toshiba Tempo but rebooting my machine, I get error 38 (according to Vista) that prevents the new driver installation as the old pilot is resident in memory... ?? Effectively, this means that I can't access or see my DVD player more in other ways than in the page Manager devices Control Panel. Option driver restore is not available, perhaps because it was an update of the firmware. The message on the device properties page is as follows:
Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory. (Code 38)
The installed updatre was frmwre-20080707134447. It includes an Adobe document that tells you what to do and how to ensure that your drive needs to be refreshed, which was easy to follow and loose my machine.
I tried to uninstall the device and the driver, but whenever I have to reload the same error occurs.
I'm really impressed and quite embarrassed, because it is a recommended Toshiba firmware update done using their system of Tempo, ideas or advice welcome.
Thank you
Matt
Hello
Do you see a CD/DVD drive in Device Manager?
If so, then remove it from the list of devices. Then access the registry and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}Finally restart the laptop and check if the CD/DVD drive would still be functions

Code 19 No. DVD Drive... what happened?
With the help of Windows7. "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) »
That's happened since I turned the pc off and turned it back? I can hear the DVD player running, however, the CD player shows, with a yellow triangle, on the Hardware tab, but it does not appear on the "computer" tab How to fix? It worked fine one day and does not work the other... very frustrated!
Hello
References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.
19 code means there is a driver conflict such as two devices attempt to use the same resources.
Please make all below even if you have done some before as it is often the set of operations which solves
the question.Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.Normally the above will solve this problem otherwise working your way down through them, even if you did
them before.Your CD or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs

Windows 7 PE USB, CD/DVD driver required error detection not
I try to install Windows 7 Home Premium with a USB 2.0 with the placed using Rufus .iso image file. -Sha1 hash is checked if the .iso image file is not corrupted and I get the infamous error of necessary the CD/DVD driver. However, any USB I put in any port is not recognized, when I go to browse. All that I can see is the boot X:\ drive, nothing else, so even if I get the drivers on my USBs they will not be detected at all. I tried to move the USBs to different ports, nothing helps. The USB ports work because my keyboard works, so what's the problem?
Motherboard is MSI Z170A Gaming m5, trying to do a clean install of Windows 7 on SSD, but it won't let me even go beyond the section missing drivers. Extremely frustrating.
What I ended up doing was turn off all other bootable devices on my bios and install an MSI tool called win 7 smart tool that installed the drivers on my USB in case children, everyone has the same problem. I do not know how fix it actually since I applied two patches at the same time, but I guess that's the thing about the pilot.

Processor (AMD FX8150) put up-to-date and RAM (4 new 1 TB HDD in RAID 10) everything elase is, that ran windows 7 Home premium 64-bit
Try to install OS and met the apparently common request for the DVD driver
If you have several in-house storage devices, disconnect all but the target storage device where Windows 7 is installed. If Windows 7 is installed successfully, you can attach additional storage devices.

Hello
I'm not sure but I think that the Toshiba DVD r /-RW / RAM (number P000399450) drive must be compatible with the Satellite A50.
It is also called DVD Super Multi drive, UJ-820BTJ6-A (G8CC0001S210)I found it on this page:
http://www.impactcomputers.com/p000399450.htmlBut generally the best way to control the compatible parts and devices is to contact Toshiba service partner in your country.

Original title: Add/Remove components error and DVD driver error
Yesterday, I removed several components of windows to attempt to clean my cpu. After the reboot, I noticed that my DVD drive disappeared. I tried to update the driver but told me I have the most updated version, I uninstalled and reinstalled the drive, but I still get the same error. Under Driver Details, it shows that I have a lot of drivers for my Phillips DVD player. However, the status of the device is the following: Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device. I've done the troubleshooting, and the two options has not fixed the problem.
Then I tried to add windows components that I removed, thinking maybe that was the problem. However, when I try to add them, I get an error message that says: 'Setup cannot copy the file zClientm.ex_' it shows the location of this file as being in windows/i386, and of course, the file is located in this folder. So when I go to browse to locate the file, I find and click on it to open it, but I keep getting the same error message that the file is not found and Setup cannot continue.
I realize that this problem seems very rare and weird, but any help at all would be appreciated. Thank you.

Satellite 2430: CD/DVD drive does not work - i/o error
Hello all Toshiba people.i have recently bought a Toshiba Satellite 2430 for a very good price. One thing the carpet * a DVD - ram Uj - 810 drive does not work when I put in any type of cd or dvd, I get this error
F:\ is not accessible.
The request could not be performed because of an i/o error.I talked to my local computer Wizz and does everything that he suggested to the letter and still the same problem. He suggested updating the bios drivers and the only way to do that is on a disk drive that she cannot take the an or a CD or dvd drive is not working. Can you please help me!
Begging you a lot
Michael BorgerIn my view BIOS update will not change.
I assume that the reader has worked in the past with the same BIOS version
It is a drive hardware problem or some registry keys are corrupt.I think that it s a hardware malfunction may be a matter of lenses.
But try this;
Remove the drive from Device Manager and shut the laptop computer. After restarting again the operating system should recognize the drive again. Then you can check the functionality.Otherwise, you can remove the disk from the laptop, and then start the laptop without the drive. Then stop the laptop, put the drive in the notebook and start over.
The firmware should again loads. But if these procedures help t, I don t see it differently as for replace the drive

Equium A100: CD/DVD drive wont read - D:\ error message is not accessible
Hello.
My cd/dvd rw drive will not read certain DVD/CD-ROM. I bought my equium (A100 I think) laptop, nine less than a year ago and have had this problem since I got it. The disk which do not work on the laptop work fine on another pc / dvd players, if the disc is not defective. At first I thought that it would be a driver issue because some of the disc worked fine, so I never got the laptop back to the store I bought.
A message appears "D:\ is not accessible. The request could not be performed because of an i/o device error".
I recently just got internet installed in my house and I went to the toshiba site to see if there are newer drivers that would solve this problem. I downloaded a bios update and an update of dvd ram and installed, but am still having the same problem.
Can someone help me cause am totally stuck on what to do now.
Thank you.Hello
As you have probably not known the CD/DVD drive support not all backgrounds.
In the user manual, you will find a list of supported CD and DVDBut I assume that you are the reader cannot read certain media because of the impure registry as this other thread mentioned:
http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=24203&MessageID=88868Please check that the user holmdps has solved this same problem.
