  1. do you have HTC Manager installed on the computer?

  2. have you tried it with different USB ports?

  You need the HTC Sync HTC phone Manager software.

  Method 1: Try again with different USB ports and see if that helps.

   

  Method 2: If HTC Sync is installed, if you get the message "no device connected" in HTC Sync, ensure that your phone USB setting is changed to "Charge Only" to "HTC Sync".

  Seems that your windows installation is missing most important files, I suggest you boot to the top with your windows media center installation CD and run repair on the windows installation. This will replace any missing files and I hope that your media center up and running. If this isn't the case, it could be a problem in the registry.

  If you have a 32-bit version of Win7, you should be able to sync with the drivers provided in Palm Desktop.

  I'll try to use Palm Desktop 4.1.4e. Palm Desktop 6.2 has had problems of loss of data if your PC is up-to-date with the Palm open Fund or not closing Palm Desktop on your PC shutdown. Once you decide which version to use, I suggest to export your data backup and disaster recovery.
