Windows Movie Maker - issue of pixel aspect ratio

I use Movie Maker for the first time to make a simple video for a Web site. I think that I figured it out, but when I publish the video and read in Media Player, the format of pixels is not fair. The screen is the right size, but the video seems forced by almost a 1:1 ratio, instead of 4:3.

I looked through all my settings, and I can't find out what is the cause for this. Someone knows how to fix this?

Thank you!

I wondered about this, but I didn't know if she would be the best thing for this project, since I only need a little video on the web. And then, if she published without scrunching all, who am I to be picky?

I'll look into it. Thank you!

    My Canon DV camcorder using Windows Video Capture video capture is not capture video in 16:9 format, 4:3 looks like. Why?

    Hello

  • CS5 Pixel Aspect Ratio problems...

    Hi all

    I am working on porting over an importing existing Windows .mov file to Mac while also improving it to CS4 CS5 (and also riding in the creation of a library of files QuickTime 64 bit handwritten management to start, Ouch).

    In my test class, I have problems with some 1920 x 1080 .mov files. Some files of 1920 x 1080 I imported correctly, some of the files I imported with the wrong aspect ratio. I checked the two files should be displayed using square pixels and have checked also when the selector is sent which called (SDKGetInfo8) I'll put what follows for * all * the above test files:

    SDKFileInfo8-> vidInfo.pixelAspectNum = 1
    SDKFileInfo8-> vidInfo.pixelAspectDen = 1

    I bought it online using SDKGetInfo8 () and tense and no strained clips seem to give exact same traces through this function. However, files that are imported with the wrong aspect ratio, of course, listen to samples in a long format. Also, in the information of the location of the Source region, when the * extended * clips are selected is the information that is provided to these clips:

    NameOfTheStretchedClip.mov
    Video, 1920 x 1080 (1.7778)
    00:00:9:13, 23.976 fps
    etc...

    For clips that are not stretched, (1.7778) is (1.0). I'm not the greatest expert on the actual use of the first, so I can assume given the displayed values and the respective Visual result clips when you preview this value appears in the user interface is the format of the pixels and not the ratio of the image as the clip with (1.7778) is stretched and the clip (1.0) is not , but both are 1920 x 1080 videos. What I suspect is that 1920/1080.0 is 1.7778 and so somewhere for the clips that are stretching the pixelAspect ratio values seem to be derived using the dimensions in pixels and not the vidInfo.pixelAspectNum and vidInfo.pixelAspectDen values that are explicitly set to "1" as shown above.

    So my question is, apart from the SDKGetInfo8() layout the following values:
    SDKFileInfo8-> vidInfo.pixelAspectNum = 1
    SDKFileInfo8-> vidInfo.pixelAspectDen = 1
    Where can we pixelAspect values are supposed to prepare you?

    You can also:
    -In what other selector calls * CAN * pixel aspect ratio get ready? As I said, I'm porting of existing code, so maybe that these values are preparing elsewhere that I am currently unable to find.
    -Are there any setting that could get attached to the import of a file that said to derive the format of pixels the pixel dimensions that might get triggered for the clips that are imported as lie?

    Thanks in advance for any help!

    Hi Josh,.

    > Where are stored the XMP metadata in a QuickTime .mov?

    This documentation contains descriptions of the specific method of storage of XMP file format:

    http://www.Adobe.com/devnet/XMP/PDFs/XMPSpecificationPart3.PDF

    QuickTime is described in section 2.2.4.

    I guess that this file with the 1.78 BY adjustment to its XMP had been changed manually somewhere along the line in Premiere Pro or a bridge and is not really a valid test case.  I would like to know if you find a way to produce using a real workflow.

    The fact that the file with NOMINAL 1.78 is showing that 1.0 BY when the time base is 24000 / 1001 is technically incorrect.  Maybe our importer knows that there is no such thing (at least that I know) like a 1920 x 1080 with 1.78 NORMAL video, so it sets properly, while missing the 23976 / 1000 cases.  But it is technically incorrect because the IRON must be completely flexible for future formats.  Still, I would imagine it is really a problem, an end user will hit, is it?

  • M30X MultiDrive won't burn a DVD from Windows Movie Maker

    Hello

    My MultiDrive M30x will not burn the DVD from Windows Movie Maker and other applications.

    I also had problems with burning CDs (unbranded) of Windows XP, built in utility.

    The multidrive has problems with cheaper brand discs?

    Just to note,
    The laptop was to support guys three times until various issues.
    (1) the hard drive failed.
    (2) the multidrive has failed.
    (3) the motherboard replaced, due to power outages, it would not charge the battery, or recognize that the AC adapter is plugged.

    Note: The hard drive, not the fan made the most noise in mine!

    Thank you

    Hello

    As far as I know (i.e. pre-installed burning software Save now, drag-and - drop) disabled the option of Windows XP burning. In this case if you want to use the Movie Maker or Windows media player burning option, you need to activate this possibility.
    Please, go to the properties of the drivers (right click). Please select the recording tab. CD recording option on this drive must be marked.
    I use the software Nero burning and in my opinion he of one of the best burning programs. In addition, you should try different manufacturers CD/DVD because some CD and DVD is not compatible with some readers. Check the TDK CD and DVD. I never had no problem with these media.

  • Windows movie maker won't save or burn to a cd

    I worked for 3 days, set up a movie with pictures and sound. When I go to save on the computer or save it on a cd, he gives a status bar that never changes to 0% and below it is a counter that indicates the remaining minutes. This counter goes well to the top instead of the bottom. the film that I put in place was about 25 minutes and I left the pc 9 hours and the minute was contrary to 3 600 000 minutes go. It's very confusing because I then dropped. I ended up using a program called dazzle to record video, but is very unstable and guard lock up when setting up a video image. hope someone has an answer for me. I am running win XP

    Title: Windows original Photo Gallery and Windows Movie Maker

    Windows Movie Maker and windows photo gallery. picture of Windows live and Windows Live Movie Maker. What is the difference between these programs and who is better and easier to work with?

    The answer is all one could expect from a "Microsoft Support Engineer". "." It is not an answer, it is a lazy response that obscures the issue. Who the * wants to sit here by clicking on the reference links? Try to take the time to answer the question correctly and clearly. The fact is that Windows Movie Maker, despite its flaws, is logical and easy to learn. Windows Live Movie Maker is the product of developers geeks trying to justify their work by producing a piece of absurd confusion that would be considered to be an 'upgrade' because it seems different from its predecessor. The fact is that Windows Movie Maker is MORE like film professional software publisher of Live Movie Maker, which is just no unwanted standard which is more like a project of diploma a graduate programmer. Movie Maker design allowed me to make the easy transition to the most advanced professional software, but this can never be achieved with the Windows Live Movie Maker, which is ridiculously long as stupid as his name.

    1. what troubleshooting measures have tried to solve this problem?
    2 have you tried to publish a movie using a different video?

    As the issue has begun, there must be some settings changed in the movie maker. We will try to restore default Movie Maker settings and publish the movie using the same video and check the result.

    To restore settings, try the following steps.
    1. click on start, type Movie Maker, and then click Windows Movie Maker in the list.

  • Windows Movie Maker will not publish my movie on my computer

    I tried to post this video to my computer from Windows Movie Maker. The video is long, only 42 seconds, so I doubt that there is a problem of length.

    When I try to publish the video, a dialog box appears and says "Windows Movie Maker cannot publish the movie to the specified location. Verify that the original source files used in your movie are still available, that the publishing location is still available, that there is enough available disk space, and then try again. »

    I've checked everything and nothing seems wrong or irrelevant. I had to completely wipe my computer about two days due to the 'Blue screen of death' experience, but I was able to install any new drivers and restore my computer to its factory settings. I don't know what to do. Help, please!
