Windows offers scan/fix (recommended) iPod nano 6?

Usually for Apple device not connected to my machine I would carry out the scanning/fix. However, I am suspicious that Windows can digitize nano Apple OS and fix it properly if there is a problem?

Windows cannot scan or difficulty an iPod, don't waste your time. Beware, this can be a scam.

I have a bunch of old music on my iPod nano 3 I want to put on my computer.  I have windows 10.  He did years I even put music on the iPod, so my memory is faded.  I don't think I need to use iTunes, but at this point, I don't know yet!  A link to the directions would be great!  Thank you

    Hi Denise,

Thank you for contributing to the communities of Apple Support.

Looks like you want to transfer music from your iPod nano to your computer. You may need to use iTunes, but your options will depend on the source of the media that is on your iPod.

What I mean by "the media source" is best explained in synchronize media between your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch and iTunes on your Mac or PC:

    Media type Transfer method
Music purchased from the iTunes Store

Music, coming from a CD or other source *.

In addition, if all the original media that synchronize you with your iPod nano has been lost (because you don't have access to the original computer with the iTunes library, for example) you can refer to the response recommended by turingtest2 in this thread -my computer was stolen. I can get my music from my iPod?

    Best regards.

  • IPod nano 7 icon appears in iTunes, with Windows 8 or IP on both computers. Two nano 5s work perfectly. Short black lines appeared on the screen iPod

NO icon of nano 7 will appear on iTunes despite trying 2 computers, Ip and win 8. Also tried two nano 5s and several cables and ports. Also, some black lines on the screen.

What is "Intellectual property"?  Did you mean to type XP?  There is no iPod nano "5s". are these 5th gen iPod nanos?  Why do we say "iPod nano (6th generation)" in your profile in?  It's the iPod nano with the gen 7 problem?

If the 7th gen iPod nano is new (model 2015), it does not work with a version of iTunes that runs on Windows XP.  It should work with the current latest version of iTunes on the computer of Windows 8, however.

If possible, try a different cable to a USB dock with 30-pin connector, to rule out a defective cable as the cause.

  • iPod nano 7th generation Windows 10 not connect to itunes

My iTunes connect is more my recently purchased iPod Nano 7th Gen. I followed all the instructions on the troubleshooting page, but nothing has worked. When I plug it in, connect to iTunes, but then a message appears saying that it is not recognized and disconnects. I tried 4 flashes different cords, restarted my computer several times, reinstalled iTunes 4 times and restored my iPod 5 or 6 times. I use Windows 10. If anyone can help?

    HI angelaruth,

I'm also having the same problem. Before you continue you have to check first with the support? They would first make a remote control for your computer and your guide through the process. Long story short, I can not connect with my Apple iPod nano and my laptop gamer is brand new. But the strange thing, it works perfectly a month ago. The technology Apple suggested I take my laptop and I have a TI guy look which costs money. Honestly, I don't think it's my phone. I'm looking for this. I hope you have better luck. But check first with Apple technology.

  • IPod nano not recognized by iTunes - 10 Windows

My new iPod Nano (7th generation) is not recognized by iTunes (version 12.3.2).  Windows 10 is pleased to recognize the Nano as a USB and I can copy files to the Nano using Windows Explorer.

When I open iTunes and connect the Nano screen Nano said that it is connected, windows 10 tells me that it is connected, but iTunes displays the message "an iPod has been detected, but it could not be identified properly.  Please disconnect and reconnect the IPod and try again. "

Tonight, I uninstalled iTunes, followed the instructions on the Apple support site to stop and restart the "Apple Mobile Device Service".  I also uninstalled the windows drivers, the computer uses and then reinstall the drivers, but the only ones that appear are the original windows ones.

In Device Manager, the iPod is listed in 3 places:

Hard drives - Apple iPod USB Device

    Mobile devices - IPOD

Apple Mobile Device USB Driver - universal series Bus controllers

Serial - USB Mass Storage Device Bus controllers

When I click on Player update "mobile devices - iPod" it tells me that "the driver software is up-to-date Volume filesystem driver. WPD

All you other ideas how to solve this problem?

    Thank you

  • Windows Update cannot find driver for iPod Nano after update for Wndows 7

After upgrading to Windows 7 (64 bit) of Vista, I plugged my iPod Nano (2nd gen.) into the USB port with iTunes running. Error message told me it couldn't find drivers (in Windows Update I guess) for her and was reported as a storage device USB not recognized in Device Manager. This happened after that I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes 9.0.2 (latest version 64 bit) as well. I also tried to install the driver manually from a directory Apple driver on my laptop, but it does not work either.

Have seen a lot of similar problems with the iPod on the Internet forums, but no solid solutions of Microsoft or Apple. Does anyone know of a solution. I guess that all the problems reported on the Internet (there are thousands) Microsoft or Apple are working on a solution, I just haven't heard about yet...

    Coolmishu, thanks for the reply.

Before to try what you suggested, that I tried to plug the iPod once more. I think that people of Windows Update must have solved this particular problem. When I plugged it in (for the umpteenth time), this time Windows Update went on the web and found an updated driver!

    Thanks again.

If you can install and run iTunes correctly, then I'm sure that sync with an iPod will work as well.

What do you mean exactly with "add to iTunes"?

  • I have the new Windows 8 and cannot sync my Ipod Nano

I have the new Windows 8 and cannot sync my Ipod Nano is anyone know how to do this?

When I try to sync my ipod nano with my new system of Windows 8, I get a notice of the WDF_violation and the sad face on a blue screen, then my computer needs to be restarted.  I uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled, so I have the latest version on my machine.  However, which did not help.  ITunes recognizes my nano and gives me an indication that it's sync... but new music I bought is not on the nano, nor is the updates of my specific playlists.

Clearly, it's a matter of Microsoft/Windows as my nano worked perfectly last week when I was on my old computer (Vista).

If this isn't an issue which is, or has been processed by Microsoft, it should be.  If my nano and my Windows 8 cannot talk to each other which is not acceptable.

  • Bad restore iPod Nano 4th generation

This morning, I tried to restore my iPod Nano 4th generation.

Everything seemed to go in the right direction: I followed the procedure, iTunes has downloaded the most recent software, but after a few seconds an error occurred (order of 1400, in fact I don't remember the exact number).

From that moment, iTunes no longer see my iPod, and it is present only as a generic drive in the office.

I tried to restore the disc mode, but iTunes doesn't see my iPod.

Can I do something to fix this?

    Thank you!

If you have not seen Windows Insider make sure you update to the latest version.

Reset the device and connect it to the computer. Now, does show in iTunes?

Try the DFU restore process described in corrupt iPod Classic.

  • iPod nano 7th gen swipe questions

So I've recently updated the software on my ipod nano (7th generation).  I wish I hadn't.  Everything I had before worked fine, but I thought it would be easier to reformat, updated software, and consequently to the fitness, loading podcasts less (and more recent).  Unfortunately, it takes now several taps to make appear the podcasts, music, etc (and now, a box appears around each option before you can select, for no apparent reason) and most important, I can do is no longer the progress bar for each stroke of the podcast, if I want to skip the part from left to right, or all of the podcast.   Very annoying.  If someone else encountered these problems and someone at - it a 'fix '?

Looks like you have accessibility features enabled for a reason any.  Take a look at the user guide
