Windows Server 2003 clustering - latest addition hw to the cluster

Hello

I have a two-node Windows Server 2003 the material is HP/ProLiant BL45p G1 and cluster support.  I bought two new HP/ProLiant BL465c g-7 to replace the old servers with.  Is it possible to add new nodes to the cluster and failover of SQL 2000 databases to the new servers and then turn off the old hardware?

If possible, is there any hunting witches or things that I need to predict from the outset?

Any help/suggestions/tips would be greatly appreicated.

Thank you

John

  • VCenter Converter Windows Server 2003 Enterprise SP2 98% down on the reconfiguration

Hi, I am aware that this issue was raised previously through research, and I just can't consider factors because she was relatively new. On the conversion of one of our machines, I use systematically in a reported bad block that is valid and the reconfiguration failed 98% (previously it was 96% when I tried to increase the memory from 1 GB to 3, now keeping to 1).

Attached is the log that I could manage to export (let know me if the other is necessary), what I could discern good I was offbase there is an error failed to read access.

For reference, that this attempt was when I was using version 9 conversion, the last attempt not covered was with version 7.

I saw suggested I first was the problem of edit boot.ini when I tried to convert and increase memory to 3 GB, but I'm very careful to do.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

  • Windows Server 2008 clustering

I'm testing Windows Server 2008 shared help cluster on an IBM SAN ds4500 storage. Two RAW LUNS are used as storage shared on both Windows 2008 servers. When I run a test of validation in the context of implementing a cluster I ger errors on validation of the disc. So no disks are found which are suitable for the Server 2008 clustering. The error in the log is:

"LSI adapter, Ultra320 SCSI 2000 series, bus type w/1020/1030 fake disk doesn't support clustering. Disk partition style is MBR. Partition of disk type is BASIC. »

If I add the same two LUN RAW for Windows Server 2003 clustering they are valid drives presnted to set the cluster.

VMware esx 3.5 update 2 has a support for setting up clustering 2008?

    Thank you

In the course of the incremental backup of a virtual machine, data recovery would not make progress and the backup appliance afficheraient 100% of the CPU. This situation persisted until the reboot of the device. Even after restarting the device backup, no progress was made on the incremental backup. It was the result of using the information about the last backup backup to create a new backup.

So you are saying I need to download the latest version of ESX/vSphere and then extract the VM Tools of which rpm?

It might be a way to get them, if you are unable to install the product.

The version will say vSphere 4.0 be OK for ESXi 3.5 VMs?

    Yes
