Windows Server 2008 clustering

I'm testing Windows Server 2008 shared help cluster on an IBM SAN ds4500 storage. Two RAW LUNS are used as storage shared on both Windows 2008 servers. When I run a test of validation in the context of implementing a cluster I ger errors on validation of the disc. So no disks are found which are suitable for the Server 2008 clustering. The error in the log is:

"LSI adapter, Ultra320 SCSI 2000 series, bus type w/1020/1030 fake disk doesn't support clustering. Disk partition style is MBR. Partition of disk type is BASIC. »

If I add the same two LUN RAW for Windows Server 2003 clustering they are valid drives presnted to set the cluster.

VMware esx 3.5 update 2 has a support for setting up clustering 2008?

Thank you

R

Hello

You need two things win2k8 MSCS support

(1) SCSI-3 persistent reservation

(2) virtual SAS device

These two are not yet supported on 3.5.

Thank you

Samir

    Hi all

I recently read on the documentation for "Setup for Microsoft Clustering and Microsoft Cluster Service".  It says to use the LSI Logic STORport drivers with Windows Server 2008 clustering, instead of SCSIport drivers. I can't find the STORport drivers anywhere.  I can't find this on the LSI Logic's Web site.

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 Network Load Balance question

    Hello

I got my hooked VMs when a network load balancing in Windows Server 2008 R2 clustering.

This only happens for Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008 with SP2 is OK.

And I use VMware ESXi 4, I don't know if this has been addressed in ESXi 4 U1.

    I would try the update 1 - it correctly supports Windows 2008 R2 x 64, where like esxi4 don't...

  • Windows Server 2008 cluster

I try to create a cluster Windows Server 2008 based on VMware Server 1.x to test pure and training purposes.

In the past, I was able to create clusters based on Windows Server 2003 by applying all this as described in Chapter 7 of the "Management Guide - VMware Server 1.0".

Is there something different I should all by creating a Windows Server 2008-based cluster?

According to VMware Server 2 documentation, with 2008 MSCS is not supported.  MSCS 2008 is not built to support parallel SCSI as a shared bus type.

    Here's an option:

"You can create a 3 W2K8 node without any additional storage cluster using VM server or workstation. I use Wokstation 6. Without shared storage, you cannot do much. You can also configure 2 cluster nodes in VMware environment, but you'll need a shared drive that supports SCSI-3 persistent reservation commands. I use iSCSI storage attached to 2 knots. »

    Hey Ryan,

This kind of low printers end support client operating systems only, it supports all print server OS or Citrix or RDP.

You can find the printer specifications below, only the operating system on the system Rquiredments are supported:

  • HP Pavilion p7-1451 USB 3.0 and Bluetooth drivers for Windows Server 2008 R2

I bought a HP Pavilion p7-1451 so I might have a machine that is affordable, yet powerful enough to put a server software development environment on (I'm a software engineer).

It came with Windows 8, but I need Windows Server 2008 R2, I own through an MSDN subscription.  I did what I always do in these cases, re-partioned the hard drive, re-formatted and installed the new operating system.

I have almost all devices work fine, but it still does not recognize the USB 3.0 ports and Bluetooth device.  I looked everywhere but could not find something that works.  Whatever it either from the HP site is targeted for Windows 7 or 8 and trying one of those, it tells me "your system does not meet the requirements of the operating system" and MSI publishes all the drivers for this particular motherboard (that I can find anyway).

Motherboard: MSI MS-7778, also known under the name of: MSI 2AEO version 1.0

    BIOS: FRIEND 8.12

Here is the list of "other devices" in Device Manager that Windows does not recognize:

    BCM20702A0

    (USB) Universal Serial Bus controller

    (USB) Universal Serial Bus controller

    Bluetooth device ID: USB\VID_0A5C & PID_21F1 & REV_0012

    USB Controller device ID: PCI\VEN_1022 & DEV_7812 & SUBSYS_2AE0103C & REV_03

Windows doesn't always recognize them after allowing him to look on the internet.

I googled everywhere and I'm not getting anywhere.

    Does anyone have advice?

Any chance that this could be linked to the BIOS?

I'm not having any chance to find a BIOS download for this motherboard either.

    Any help is very appreciated!

    Find out!

    Hello

Windows Server 2008 is based on a Vista/Win 7 OS.
It s like the same situation 5 years ago. Win 2003 server was based on Win XP and all the drivers Win XP are compatible with Win 2003 server.

If you are using Windows Server 2008, then you should try the Vista/Win 7 drivers!

    Good bye

  • Qosmio F30 audio driver for Windows Server 2008

I'm only running a virtual machine with Windows Server 2008 installed. The server sees my Sound Driver, but it does not recognize it and ask for driver all the time. I tried running the installer of Sound Driver from the CD, but it didn't work, said: not supported operating system. I tried a driver all over the web and I found none. Can someone help to find this driver for me or let me know it it is possible to manually install this driver?

I will be grateful for any help.

As you probably know that Qosmio F30 is not designed to be used as a server and general support Toshiba doesn t Server2008. All you can do is to identify the manufacturer of the sound card and try to find the driver on its support page.

Boyfriend sorry but that s all I can say about it.
