Windows Server 2003 r2 to the Horizon

Hi everyone, we are running out of sight Horizon 5.3.0 build-1427931, works very well for OS al lthe modern we attached, end user connects via a Wyse Zero Client P45.

We have an obligation to run a number of VMs of Windows Server 2003 r2, and I would include these in the field of the view of the Horizon as they should be used as workstations in training. Agent 5.3 is not compatible with this version of Windows, I'm looking for suggestions on how best to achieve this requirement. A previous, compatible Agent version HV work?

The current alternative thinking is to build a basic Windows 7 or 8 comments with the agent of the HV and run an RDP session off the 2003 server machine. The only downside is that it doubles the amount of machines, I need running.

Any ideas or suggestions are welcome!

Kind regards

Tim

2003 R2 can be used only as a source of server terminal server in sight. You can run 2008 R2 VM as sources with a view Desktop 5.3, but otherwise you should use the versions of desktop operating system.

  • Windows Server 2003 external to the application of the Apex and listener Apex?

    Hi all

I have oracle RAC INSTALLED on solaris with three knots. I have several users with the CCR. I want to install APEX so that each user can access APEX if they need. Based on the Google search I did is not clear for me. My goal is to stay away as much as possible of the production systems. Could you please tell me which method can be good to implement this? I think following methods but I don't know if they are correct.
1 - Position the external Apex of Windows Server 2003
2 - Place the Apex listener in Windows Server 2003
3 - allow the user connect to the Windows Server to access Apex

    Thank you

    Hello

APEX needs to be installed in a database. If you do not want to expose your RAC and use a separate instance of the database, users will not be able to access the data available in the CARS (unless you create database links, but you usually don't want that).
You can install APEX Listener on your Windows 2003 to access the APEX facility in your RAC database. You must choose a J2EE container to host your listener of the APEX. See APEX listener installation guide for supported containers or search the forum or google to find out what other containers may be suitable for you (for example Apache Tomcat is not officially taken charge but able to accommodate the listener).
You need to configure the firewall and/or rules of routing for all users may access the port used by the container.

  • Wireless AP do not communicate with Windows Server 2003 box on the cable network

I have a wired network which has 2 PC under Windows 7, 1 PC Windows XP Pro, 2 LAN printers and a Windows Server 2003 as customers.

The network through a switch and a router Comcast of class business.

I am trying to add a wireless network access point and when I do the AP and the box of Windows Server 2003 are unable to speak / ping each other, even if strangelyboth of devices are able to communicate with all devices and clients on the network. These two will be just talk to each other. It doesn't matter if I use an access point or wireless router. Any wireless device attached with a cable of the switch won't talk on the server and vice versa.

Laptop wireless connected to the AP take a DHCP of the router/modem Comcast address and can get on the internet, they just can't see the server as cable customers can. Any suggestion would be appreciated to grreatly.

    Thank you

  • try to install the driver only on a windows Server 2003 for hp1525nw.

I want to install the driver Laser Jet CP1525nw on our windows 2003 print server to be available to our users. If I install using the software of HP I can't just install the driver and so can not install the printer a printer on the print server

It seems that you just need the base without any additional software driver.

The base driver should be able to be downloaded and installed the correct operating system to color HP LaserJet Pro CP1525nw printer.

Select the software and driver downloads and choose the operating system you need.  In this case, Windows Server 2003.  Expand the pilot section and there will be two: full functionality and basic driver.  The base driver is just the driver itself without any additional software, and this should do what you need.

    > When I insert the CD, the "install Windows Server 2003" is disabled
What do you mean by people with disabilities?

You are not able to boot from the CD?

In these cases, please press the C button immediately after switching on the laptop. This should allow booting from the CD/DVD drive.
Alternatively, you can try to press the F12 key instead of the C key. This should allow the start menu. Then you could choose the STRANGE as boot device and might try to boot from the CD-ROM Server Win.

  • Windows Server 2003 migration

    Hello world

According to your experience, I would like to get your opinion on the best approach to migrate a Windows Server 2003 domain controller and all the services available thereon.

    A few details:

In our network, we have 2 Windows Server 2003, one is the domain controller that is the DNS server, DHCP server, file server, mail server (Exchange) and support our intranet (sharepoint 3.0). The other host our SQL Server 2005 (which has 2 databases, intranet and our ERP database).

In our infrastructure, we have about 50 users, some printers (4) network and about 10 items of group policy.

Thank you in advanced for your review.

  • Repair of Windows server 2003

    Hello

I have my server booted from a CD that has been created as bootable (it contains the necessary drivers for the RAID configuration).
Now, I put my Windows Server 2003 CD in the drive.  I need to run the repair utility because my system does not start on its own.  Trying to get into safe mode, it hangs.

Can what commands I enter from the CD to start the repair?

Also, if I run the setup of windows - it erase all my info and settings?  It will install properly if I have two hard disks with a RAID configuration configuration?

    Thank you.

  • FTP connection times out on Windows Server 2003 when you run Windows Firewall

This seems to come up recently, perhaps with a recent Windows automatic update.

I have FTP server running on Windows Server 2003 R2.

The NIC has the firewall Windows is activated, which allows port 21 (FTP) through.

When you use an FTP client from a workstation, the FTP client expires when you navigate to a folder with many files, say the folder/images of a website with 10 + MB in total (which isn't really that much). Navigate to other folders with smaller files seems fine.

Now, when I turn off the firewall of the server, then I can use a FTP client on a workstation to access any FTP folder regardless of the number of files or the size of files and everything is fast fast.

This brings me to the conclusion that the problem lies in the Windows Server 2003 firewall, and we must have this option disabled for FTP clients do not expire.
