Windows server 2008 R2 Hyper-v network

I am at a loss, I bought a new HP with processor AMD Phenom quad with 8 GB of RAM so I could explore virtualization.  I have 3 virtual machines created with VPC 2007, I installed everything on Hyper-v but only connecting to the Internet, others say 2, they have no network adapters!  I went on the virtual network over and over again.  I was totally unable to connect all 3 with the Internet.  I'm sure it's a simple décor but I'm over the tutorials and anything else that I could find on connect the virtual machines on the Internet and everything seems to be in order but they don't connect, and they now all say that there is no network card hardware.  What Miss me?  I've been using MS VPC, VMware, and Virtual Box from Sun for several years and not have never seen something like this for several virtual machines.  Any reference to my error would be appreciated.
Thank you

My doubt is: can install two virtualizadores on the same server?

I don't know of anyway to run ESXi in hyper - you can do the reverse to install ESXi and then run Hyper-V as a virtual machine.

As for your second question - if you ask you can install ESXi on top of Hyper-v - you can, but it will overwrite the Hyper-v Forum

  • Cancel the mapping of space used Dell PS4100 SAN on the Windows Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V cluster.

Is Dell has a tool to undo the mapping of used space of deleted VMS or data on the volume/LUN, the SAN from Dell does not give space automatically if you delete data. Volume/Lun is thick.

You must install the HIT / ME tool and use the EqlReThin utility.  If you download the 'Dell EqualLogic Host Integration Tools for Microsoft Installation and user guide' on the support site, there is a description on how it works.

  • Solution for Windows Server 2008

A requeat is considering implementing the standard in Windows Server 2008 and Hyper-v to install and run a VM on the server.

What may be another solution based on VMware technology (to keep some existing based .vmx VMs)?

VMware Player might be a solution, but I read that it is "free for personal use": how it can be run in a business environment?

VMware Server is free as well, is it supported in Windows Server 2008?

    Hello.

VMware Server is free as well, is it supported in Windows Server 2008?

Windows 2008 Standard and Enterprise Edition (32-bit or 64-bit) are supported.

What an alternative if they consider?

Free ESXi may be another option to look at.

    Good luck!

  • Dual boot ESX 3.5 possible in Windows Server 2008?

    Hi all

I was wondering if it was possible to dual boot ESX 3.5with Windows Server 2008 with Hyper-V.  The reason why I asked, is that we have a partner who likes to play with these two products, but has only 2 servers, and since you need 2 + cluster servers to use the capabilities of the company in both products if we dualboot for him he would save him money that he wouldn't buy more than two servers.

Now, I know you can dualboot ESX with LILO but it is possible with Windows Server 2008? and chaning CPU virtulizing settings in the BIOS to make it compatible with Hyper-V change anything nor prevent whatever it is on the side of ESX?

These settings should be fine; I have a PowerEdge 2950 set like that I flip back and forth between ESX 3.5 and W2K8 + Hyper-V often enough by simply exchanging the discs, and I can run 32 and 64 bit guests on both environments...

  • Cannot import Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 with Hyper-V virtual machines to VMware ESXi 4.

    Hi team,

I use VMware vCenter Converter Standalone to import certain Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 with Hyper-V virtual machines to VMware ESXi 4, using another Windows Server 2008 R2 as the machine Agent Converter. Well, the agent connects to the Windows VM source very well (I used the net use command to create a line of conduct...), perhaps no chance to connect to the computer target VMware ESxi 4 and make the converter doesn't work...

    Following is the error message:

"Unable to connect to the host specified" from the converter agent machine. " It is perhaps because the host is not available on the network, there is a problem with the network configuration or management on this host services do not react. Check all components of converter to be able to connect.

So, my question is; is it possible to create a work around (like the net use Windows command above) to make possible the connection of the converter Agent on Linux VMware ESXi 4 machine Windows machine, to directly import the virtual machines of Windows Hyper-V to Linux VMware?

    Thanks in advance,

    It's even easier than that

    Use this: http://www.winimage.com/

Which will convert *.vhd *.vmdk, so you don't need to do all this... Of course, another way is to start the machines, leaving them on Hyper-V and go through the network and process virtual machine as physical machines and do a P2V on the network...

  • 600 g MT: network driver for HP600B MT for Windows Server 2008 64 bit

I installed Windows Server 2008 on computer HP 600 g MT (product number - B5G17EA). But I'm not able to get the network (Ethernet) and graphics drivers for this OS. I even tried to download and install the drivers for Windows 7 and 8. But that did not help.

The HP site doesn't have any drivers for this desktop computer operating system:

    http://h20565.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/readIndex?sp4ts.Oid=5270873&lang=en&cc=us

Driver search for "Atheros AR8152 / 8158 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20) also went in vain I couldn't locate for OS Windows Server 2008 (64-bit)."

    Please help!

    Hi Provost,

Thanks for the reply. I downloaded the Ethernet drivers from the following link:

    http://www.driverscape.com/download/Atheros-ar8152-8158-PCI-e-fast-Ethernet-controller-%28ndis-6.20%29

And it worked perfectly for me. I had another system (HP 600 g MT). I went to the Device Manager and checked the name of the Ethernet adapter. It is Atheros AR8152 / 8158 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20). Then I googled and found the link above was the driver.

The graphics driver from the link you provided, I always download it now. Would return as soon as possible about that.

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 with various OS Win interrupted network connections

Not a question, but a finding:

Shortly after the upgrade to Kaspersky Endpoint Protection 8, I started to have problems with seemingly random work stations in my area, the loss of their connection to one or the other of my boxes of Windows Server 2008 R2.  Some of the workstations XP SP3, some Win 7 - two BONES have been affected.  The breakdown of connectivity went both ways - the server could not see the workstation and vice versa.  Sometimes if I waited about an hour, the workstation could re-establish his connection spontaneously, but usually I have to change the IP address of the workstation.  Doing so systematically restored the connection.  Release and renew for workstations using DHCP didn't work because they always had the same new IP - address should change to restore the connection.  After a process of exhaustive and exhausting trial and error to determine the cause of this problem (I initially make the connection between the upgrade of Endpoint Protection and this question), I finally determined that the network attack blocker component was causing this problem.  I disabled this component during my assignment and did not have connectivity losses in the three months that I got that off item.  I also had a case when after the reactivation of network attack blocker, I got a workstation loses its connection to one of the servers, and after disabling the network trainer attack once again, work stations that had lost its connection almost immediately restored the connection itself.  So, if you are having this problem and use Kaspersky Endpoint Protection 8, disable the network attack blocker component.

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 Network Load Balance question

    Hello

I got my hooked VMs when a network load balancing in Windows Server 2008 R2 clustering.

This only happens for Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008 with SP2 is OK.

And I use VMware ESXi 4, I don't know if this has been addressed in ESXi 4 U1.

    Can someone give some advice?

    Thank you very much

    I would try the update 1 - it correctly supports Windows 2008 R2 x 64, where like esxi4 don't...
