Windows Defender does not have a Firewall.
If Norton edition is a Suite of Internet security, not just an AV, it has its own firewall, and you have disabled Vista firewall to prevent conflicts.
And this has been explained to you by a previous contributor here, Norton disables Windows Defender, which he is supposed to do.
There is nothing to worry.
Please read all answer of Bruce Hagen again.

I get this error code ox0800106ba. I did a security upgrade and find my latest little having failed, I can't in my startup programs can anyone help at kinlochleven
If you have Norton, McAfee, Microsoft Security Essentials, AVG, etc installed, they will disable the Defender by purpose.
Read about Defender:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/turn-Windows-Defender-on-or-off
Enable or disable the Windows Defender
When Windows Defender is on, you're alerted when spyware and other potentially unwanted software attempts to settle, run on your computer, or change important Windows settings. If you use the default settings, Windows Defender will also check for new definitions, regularly search for spyware and other potentially unwanted software, and automatically remove any detected item that has a recommended removal action.
Open Windows Defender by clicking on the button start , clicking all programs, and then click Windows Defender.
Click on tools and then click Options.
Under the administrator options, select or clear the check box use Windows Defender and then click Save. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
See you soon.

Windows Defender is disabled whenever I turn on my computer. setting has been activated automatically, but a message "windows defender is disabled" keep appearing one whenever I click on it. Help, please. Thank you!
If you have Microsoft Security Essentials or AVG installed, you don't have to do a thing. These 2 are supposed to disable Windows Defender, because they have their own "defender". Running two defenders would conflict on the other and redundant.
If you have not installed 2 above. Try this...
Start bittun > in the search box, type services > press ENTER > uac prompt > scroll down and look for Windows Defender...
under the State ; It must be said Started
under Startup type : must say automatic
If this isn't the case, right click on Windows Defender > properties >
under the change of automatic startup type to
under service status to start editing
Click OK.t-4-2

Hello
Toshiba has also map of keys which allow easy adjustment of the TouchPad. See support for Toshiba

http://laptopforums.Toshiba.com/Check with the manufacturer of system support, documentation in line, or forums as there probably
are shortcut keys that enable and disable the touchpad functions. Also check the control - Mouse - touchpad settings panel.
You can also try this:
Panel of configuration manager devices - mouse and pointing devices - Double click on the touch pad-
The driver tab - click on Update Driver (which is may not make anything like MS is far behind certifying)
(drivers), now right CLICK on the touchpad and UNINSTALL.Then go to the USB and UNINSTALL ALL controllers except the category itself (all in).
RESETThis will refresh the driver for the TouchPad and battery USB. This does not prevent the touchpad
of work. Here is the similar procedure in XP, Vista is the same, except that we need to clear the specific
device if present.

and get the latest touchpad drivers.Download - SAVE - go to where you put it-click on - RUN AS ADMIN.
